Miqo'te vs Hyur: A Tough Decision

I've been a Hyur all my life, but now I want to have cat ears, a furry tail and a squeaky voice. Should I keep my humanity or embrace my inner feline? Constructive criticism is appreciated!

I was the opposite. I was miqo'te in all 1.0 and went to female highlander now :D but sometimes miss my miqo'te >_<

One of the reasons was because I really hate those pointy hats or helms in the gear. Makes them so ugly imo. Miqo'te overall has nice animations but after a while found out female highlander has nice animations too :)
Other reason was because my race and type was more favourable for my main even if is slightly helps :p
Now other reasons were errrr bigger boobs *rolleyes* lol and cooler hairstyles. If they add female highlander hairs to miqo'te in a future patch I will have to check out how it looks :p

Beta phase 2: Miqo'te(F) + Hyur(F)
Beta phase 3: Miqo'te(F) + Hyur(F) both to close to Lv.30
2.0: Miqo'te(F) Lv.50 + Hyur(F) Lv.50 + Hyur(M) Lv.50 + Lalafell(F) Lv.24 + Roegadyn(M) Lv.16
Now: Hyur(F) + Hyur(M)

In the end I deleted my Miqo'te because I absolutely hate how those ears deform the helms, looking especially stupid with tanking gear and cowls that are part of the chest piece and hence cannot be hidden. The tail is fine, as most gear either are designed specifically to look proper with a tail, or it just happens to look like an opening is there for the tail.

Obviously there are some odd ones like the reindeer outfit.

But that's only for gear. One thing I hate about the tail is how it is absolutely rigid when a Miqo'te is mounted. It doesn't move. It absolutely doesn't move. It looks 100% dead. It looks especially out of place on the unicorn. You don't notice it on the chocobo due to the saddle, but it's an eye-sore on the unicorn and other mounts that don't have elaborate saddles.

And I tried, oh I tried to get used to it. My Miqo'te(F) not only was a Lv.50 PLD + Lv.30 WHM, it also has all crafts and gathering classes at Lv.30, plus the remaining all battle classes at Lv.15. I still deleted it. (Well the real reason for deleting is I know I cannot invest the time required to maintain so many characters; but the reason for which one to delete was due to the ears and tail.)

I would suggest that you just create a new Miqo'te and try it out. It takes at most two weekends to get the Unicorn, if you play leisurely.

As long as you don't become a derpcat (aka any male miqo'te).

It always made sense to me that the tail doesn't move. A real cat wouldn't just let their tail flop around like that. They would either grip with it, or keep it in the air and move it from side to side as if they were trying to balance or something.

Hyur. Help protect your servers population by spaying any stray Miqo'te you come across on your travels throughout Eorzea.

Hyur are just giant ape Miqote.

Miqo'te may be limber but mighty nord(highlander) women will always have nicer bodies.

Miqo'te are massively overpopulated. I practically /sigh every time I wind up in a party surrounded by all catgirls.

Hyur are popular, but not stupidly so like miqo'te. I like highlanders, but the females have a kind of....mannish stance. Lala and elezen and roe are always awesome, though!

Problem with the Miqo'te tail is that it is bent in a specific way, and it is fixed in relation to the body. It looks like a fake tail with wire inside that is just stuck there in mid air. Very unnatural.

I like kitty boys, but I went Hyur because I didn't like some of the helmet models on cats and I didn't want to deal with tail collision graphic issues... they did a great job on the character models, though.

If you want to be a taller character, steer away from Miqo'te. Otherwise, kitties FTW.

Personally I think Hyur and Miqo'te both need a plague to wipe out half their population, people should play more Elezen/Lalafel/Roegadyn but I know there is some fascination with cats.. hell, they are barely cats. They are humans with cat ears and tails. Mithra in XI were more cat like than this mess

Personally, this is a tough call. I started out miqote, which I liked a l lot. But I ended up using my first phantasia on going hyur female.

The ears and tail part is great - and their animations are awesome. But the bodies of the hyur females are so much better, I think. Kind of have more of a mature body style - plus I really like the hyur's faces.

We need a hyur/miqote hybrid!

I'm also curious, to the people saying tail and ear physics are terrible (I can't say I've ever bothering paying attention myself, even as a lalafell :3) are you playing on ps3 or with certain physic settings turned down or with lower powered computers?

Legit question because there are physics settings that include these types of specific thing. I've got a high end pc with everything maxed but like I said, I never actually bothered looking.

Imagine, if hair was actually made of yarn. :3

Elezen or miqote!

I'm in the same boat! I started Elezen, but switched to hyur midlander, but now I kinda wanna be a kitty... :o

I'll break it down for you if you make a Miqo'te. Jealous females will hate you. To the rest you will be invisible in a sea of kitties.

Make a Miqo'te alt and run a few dungeons. See how it is. I've never gotten a commendation on my Miqo'te character. I never gotten a friend request. I switched to a Roe and get a commendation practically every run. I get friend requests all the time. Even though I play and act completely the same.
