When you are attempting to move out of a red zone where a cleave or AoE is about to hit, whether or not you avoid it is based on where your character is when the cast finishes and not when the animation goes off.
This will allow dodging red zones and immediately going back in after the cast but still before the animation has finished.
This can be useful for tanks or DPS that want to return to their spot quickly to either keep the mob facing the direction before you moved or to DPS.
Kind of confusing mechanic for some people because even though they looked like they were well away when the animation went off, they weren't in fact out of the the red zone when the cast finished
plus lets not forget about the .3 second server delay so even if you think your out when it goes off the game still thinks your their!
I thought they changed the delay to .1 seconds with 2.1.
isnt this the lag issue that almost everyone in forum been complaining? the ex titan etc.
if really the case, don think can be fix, unless they change the network engine architecture...which imo must must well come out ff14 3.0 lol
The problem is because the server think i'm in range zone yet, and no metter how I see this, is a bug, a lot of game this thing not happen, even if you have a ping high like 200~300 ms, after all, you start move "ONLY" after you see the spell started...
lol just evade the red circle of doom, if ur targeting the boss the cast bar should show up and ur 1st priority is moving outta the red circle, am not a healer but i think its great that ps3 players can focus target now, that makes dodging has a healer easy just focus target boss and target ur healing target easy but ik theres some fights that u cant do that and is just a suggestion, anyway practices makes perfect ^^
I cant do it while I'm a WHM, I'm ever targeting the party members
Ok, I will try then
If you believe it's not down to personal ability (which in most cases even with self denial it usually is down to the player), then it'll be your connection -> server.
Just run out of the red circle once it spawns and run back in as soon as it goes away. It really doesn't matter if the animation went off or not as long as you're out of the red before it goes away. (Alot has to do with connection) A lot of tanks do this to get back into position without the boss having to move around.
Only with the higher-level instances, as far as I know, I think low-level and open-world areas are still on the .3 delay.
Ignorance is bliss. I love how the people who haven't experienced the extreme lag others can suffer say stuff like "of course you can, its easy and simple".
I play XIV @ 2 locations. In one area I can be out of Plumes with a few seconds to spare and die. On the other connection at an internet cafe I feel like the flash. Dodging everything easily without any stress.
The difference is drastic.
I am a white mage and used to have that delay you are talking about back in November. A FC mate introduced me to a program called Battleping where it routes your IP through a server closer to the main SE network. Honestly, get that. It is 5$ for 30 days and it works tremendously. After DLing it, I don't die to lag in any fight, avoiding mechanics are a joke (except when RL extreme mode is going on playing under influences - gogo whiskey!) and it should fix that delay. Also, learn to hold down your right mouse button and strafe at all times as a healer. If you try to finish your cast then move you will die every time
