Drake mount?

How do you get it?

do dailies with the Amalj'aa until you get Trusted status, buy it for 120k.

Just bought it and I'm broke now...

is there anything you have to do to open up the dailies?

You must first complete the main scenario quest "In Pursuit of the Past".
Then you can unlock Sylphs daily quest from Vorsaile Heuloix in New Gridania, Amalj'aa daily quest from Swift in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald.

Takes 30 days of dailies to hit rank 4. Have fun.

30 days really??? Good lord.. Doing the same 6 quests 30 days.. not happening

They're actually randomized per each tier of reputation, but you will run into a lot of the same ones.

It's actually about 4-6 possible quests per rank but you are given a random set of 3 for each rank, each day. You will see some repeats but generally you get some variety day-to-day.

It's not a bad thing to do if you want the mount and have time to kill here and there like waiting for FC members to log on or are waiting on a queue. They also very helpfully fill in the XP gaps in the mid-late 40's.

You can also make several thousand gil a day doing them, too.

do higher reputation quests yield myth tomes? the ones of lvl 1 only give 5 philo each

seems i should keep doing these quests after all. thx for the info.

i saw people with this mount 4 days after 2.1 released, how did they get to trusted (150) when you get 15 per day

They were riding it (for "FREE") as part of the daily quests ;) Frankly - they're not that much impressive IMO though I like the jump animations so everytime I ride them (as part of the quest as I'm still unsure if it's worth investing 120k into them) I jump all the way like rabbit ...

BTW - second tier of quests will gain you 10 philos each - so +60 per day if you do them all.
