ONLY Problem I have Being a Scholar is.....

That the Adlo shield only lasts about 30 seconds ><

There are many times where I cast it pre fight and because tanks takes long to pull I have to recast it. Sometimes I end up casting it right as they pull to make sure they have it up before they attack, but it doesnt go off fast enough and I pull hate for a sec. Why cant it be like Stoneskin where the effect of the shield lasts 30 minutes or up until they get hit for the shield amount.

That is literally the only issue i have with my SCH ;-(

same issue here, what i do is to macro with sound saying that after casting adlo tank must go go go or something like that, succor and adlo are like a green light to start the fight, must of the tanks are beginning to understand it

1. If you see tank is heading to mobs during casting, you shd cancel spell by make a step.
2. Tell tank at the first that you want pre-shield before mobs.
3. If you happen to pull aggro, run to tank, use pet to heal you, cast stoneskin on yourself.
4. Stop doing it, there is not necessary to do it in dungeon.

No, if shield lasted for 30 min, i would so spam adlo until it crits on everybody before any boss fight which is OP.

You should learn to communicate with your tank/party member more efficiently to avoid such cases.

Communication is a key. Just tell your tank to wait for a moment (use auto-translate if you have to) then cast it. He will know how you play after 2-3 encounters if he's not brain-dead. :)

+1 for the two above. Communication, communication, communication.

Those aren't silent bots running around (though sometimes it feels like they are) but are in fact people playing. Tell them what you're doing and they'll likely adjust. Especially if it makes the run smoother.

Swiftcast + Aldo as he starts moving.

My issue with the 30 sec is that sometimes after I crit a boss can't break it before it wears off.....1700+ aldo crit's with buff's on a PLD and any boss has a tough time to break unless they have hard hitting mechanics.

It's true. My coil group laughed at me when I got really happy/excited seeing that very first 1.7k Adlo. I was like "OMG GOGOGO IT'S A CRIT!" And they were like "pffff--AH HAHAHAHAHA!!" ):

As a tank I care when the sch crits, if that makes you feel better.

Haha! This is so true. I was running with a group in a fc who had pugged a scholar. He stood there spamming aldo trying to crit the tank and they were asking each other " wtf is he doing??" Finally a crit landed and the tank just stood there while the scholar was saying gogogo! They don't understand or care.

Tanks love adlo (stoneskin). I think this is a matter of today's society. They don't bother to learn about the other guy. There are far too few people who actually want to know what healers can do for them.. The synergy you can have when both, tank and healer, are on the same page and know about each other abilities. It's then when you'll take the game to another level.
