Static Needs Help With Pharos

A quick bit of background:

My static is composed of friends who have migrated from game to game together for going on ten years now. We started in PSO and moved to FFXI, then to here.

Anyway. We can't seem to clear Pharos Sirius, which doesn't make a damned bit of sense and I'm able to clear it pretty consistently with DF groups. I play a SCH when running for them, and I can heal in there no problem. We run:

WAR (Full DL with Heroes ACCs and NQ Relic), DRG (Relic +1 with 50/50 Myth and DL), BLM (Garuda's Van with Myth Body and full DL), and SCH (+1 with Vanya and full DL ACCs)

We can't get past Zu. We can usually take down the first boss after a couple wipes, but at Zu we just get eaten alive by the adds, even killing one egg per batch. Its like the DPS just can't kill the adds fast enough. Our gear isn't the problem. I've had DDs in DF parties who could absolutely murder the adds down in seconds that were equipped worse or similar.

What are my guys doing wrong?

Zu is all DPS boss, kill one hatching egg, kill add, DPS boss, wash rinse repeat.

You shouldn't be having any issues whatsoever with Zu with geared BLM/DRG. Someone probably isn't going after adds at all.

A couple tips:
1) Make sure you are using Leeches to remove [windburn] from the tank the instant you see it. Doing this makes it WAY easier to heal the rest of the party through the unavoidable aoe and add damage.
2) The adds that actually hatch can be stunned, which will make the group take far less damage.

If you're getting overwhelmed by the adds, it sounds like your DPS probably aren't paying enough attention to the eggs to kill one before it hatches out of each group.
The eggs have FAR less health than the hatchlings and either of your DD's can probably kill them in 1 or two hits.

Since the "hatching eggs" can spawn anywhere in the room and the DRG would have to run over to them (jump won't be up for each one), you should designate your BLM to be on EGG duty.
Tell your BLM to save his procs and quickly kill one of the two glowing eggs every time they begin to glow.
He's going to have to pay close attention and position his camera such that he can see as much of the room as possible.
This will give your DRG a few extra seconds on the boss each "round" and shorten the fight.
When the second add hatches, have your DRG (or tank if he's close) stun it.
Then kill it, and go back to the Zu until the next round of eggs begins to hatch.

A few more:

1. Make sure whoever is on egg duty actually looks at the eggs. Speckled eggs spawn ranged adds, which are harder to kill. If given a choice between speckled and plain eggs, kill the speckled one.
2. If a BLM is on egg duty, they can use Scathe to kill eggs.

It was my understanding that the # of eggs hatching is based on how quickly you're hurting Zu. Slow down on big bird, see if you have less eggs trying to hatch at the same time.

The time when zu is unmarketable is prime time to kill or catch up on the adds. Its a full party effort, be sure your mêlée are pitching in.

For every egg or hatchling you killed, Zu will get 8 stacks of Buff. And at 16 stacks, Zu will wipe the whole part with his body slam. Here is what our group has been doing:

1/Have everyone marked focus on Zu to watch for his stacks.
2/Kill one of the glowing egg and take down and kite the others hatchling but not kill.
3/ Wait for the stack get below 6, then kill the adds.
4/Rise and repeat.

Here is a couple things you need to remember:

1/ When Zu fly to the sky, it is a very good chance to kill all the adds because Zu wont get stack even if you kill them all during the phase.
2/Always kill the shooter first. And kite the fighter and kill them later when safe.
3/ When Zu takes off the ground, have your Tank stay away from the group because he will do AOE and target the tank (or whoever got the most aggro at that time).

If you follow these hint, you should be able to take down Zu with no trouble.

Info is wrong.

Stacks only increase when an egg is killed; hatchlings don't increase her anger at all.

i do believe it does, i will check again tonight. if I am wrong, i will edit my post.

PArcher is right, it's only the eggs.

Don't use Tab to switch targets in this fight. You will accidentally kill eggs, and then the zu will fall on you repeatedly until you die.

one of your dps is derping in a corner instead of attacking adds. my guess is that it is the blm, they often get confused by the fact that they can't move while casting.
