Upper La Noscea song.

I am leveling an alt so I can do coil twice a week so I am running through the story quests again. One of the quests took me to Upper La Noscea. I must have had the music down my first time through here because I know I would have remembered a song as absolutely gorgeous as the song played here.

I was just looking for a clues on bone ruins of a sea creature and then.. just wow. It was like "Are you kidding me right now?" My eyes were welling up yeah it was that good.(I know I'm a dork)

If you love music and haven't heard the music of Upper La Noscea you should really go visit and find a safe spot so you don't get aggro and have the track interrupted.

So yeah, does anyone know if this is on the soundtrack? Does anyone know the name of this song? Is it on a soundtrack somewhere? Is this on the Before Meteor Soundtrack?

Sure not on Before Meteor. That one only has what the name implies: music from version 1.0.
It should be on the CE OST, I think that one had the audio of the 3 main cities areas. We still haven't got an actual OST though.

I missed the boat on the physical collector edition. I tried to get it but they were sold out. I hope they release the soundtrack separately. I feel guilty listening to this on youtube so much.

I agree! It's a great song. It reminds me of the Skyrim OST.

Yeah.. that song is great. Give me the feels of 1.0.

Sidenote: will be better if the song is played when you are surrounded by dead bodies of allies and enemies.

Ty for posting this. The combination of no reason to be in the zone often and it being so small that the majority of my time there I heard the battle music made me unaware of this music track. That's my biggest complaint in my transition from xi to xiv - many zones feel so small that it feels like you are moving from one aggro leash to another with no real break to hear the music or enjoy the walk.

I was leveling botany for a little while in the southern section of South Shroud and the music there was amazing as well. Plus the zone is just beautiful.

It's part of "On Westerly Winds", which has all La Noscea themes apart from Outer La Noscea (in which its music track is actually classified as a Thanalan track, played in the The Burning Wall). Around 3-4 minutes in, I forgot the exact time.

It had the same effect on me, it's too damn short like many of the open field songs but it's so gorgeous...

So I must be a dork too. Hehe.

I think I may be able to get the soundtrack on amazon. I think some people are selling pieces of their ce. On Westerly Winds does seem to be on the ce soundtrack.

I'm glad I'm not the only dork. I think it's the old band geek in me taking over from time to time.

The song from Upper La Noscea also plays around Raincatcher Gully in Eastern La Noscea. It's easily one of my favorite environment songs. The one that plays in various places in The Black Shroud, most notably outside of Quarrymill is worth mentioning too. (sounds like something out of Chrono Trigger to me)

I know i'm trolling in some way, but I feel it's alright in this instance, since I was gathering away in Upper La Noscea and had the most extraordinary music played, and then it started! Wow, what a stunning piece of music, that is so serenely soothing. It has layer upon layer of music. I don't normally go in for the ambience of MMO songs, I am so glad I heard this song playing when I was gathering for botanist quests. I know that it's designed to go with the moving round the zone. It seems we all have been touched by this little treasure.

"Wailers and Waterwheels" has that same effect on me. It reminds me of when I first started playing and all the people I made friends with who no longer play on my server.

The opening part of Serenity has that effect on me. After playing through the first few ARR beta sessions in Gridania & the black shroud (as it was the only choice), I spent the next session in Ul'dah/Thanalan when it was opened to us, then early release I started over in Limsa Lominsa as an Arcanist. When I got to the quest to fly to the other city states, Serenity was playing on the airship landing cutscene in Gridania, and it hit me. It was like "I'm home". Sometimes when I enter the Black Shroud, I'll just stand there and listen to the piano part at the beginning before going anywhere.

edit: I've never really given the Upper/Outer La Noscea theme the attention it deserves, despite being in those zones quite a bit. So, thank you for sharing. :)

This is one of my fav songs on the soundtrack... though, honestly, I go and listen to the whole of FF soundtracks as soon as I get my hands on them. Took me a while to find where this song played but....yep.

This is also my favorite song in the game. It was the 1st song I took notice of when playing out in the fields that struck a chord with me. I wish the song was a lot longer and have more stuff to do in the area, since it's so small, I'm barely there. They need to expand some of these smaller areas, so we can enjoy it more.

None of the current LL tracks come close to it's sad beauty.

I used to have to play with the sound off and even still have the music turned very low. I'll have to adjust it so I can hear some of these different pieces. I know there is a piece of music that plays out in the Clutch in Central Thanalan that I enjoy so much, I've parked out there to craft. ^^

The track that plays on the Wineport side of Eastern La Noscea is pretty good as well. Really gets you into the enviroment. I would like to see more zones like that one anyway. Actually makes you feel like you are out in the wilderness.

My first week in the game, my fisher was level 25, higher than my adventurer class, arcanist 21... I discovered the zone because had to fish some stuff there when level 20 and since level 20 to 30 became my favorite spot...Hearing it bring me good memories of when newb x'3...Just fishing there, without caring about many things at all...

When I created later on new character in Zodiark, leveled fisher from 20 to 30 close to the kikirns (or whatever those rats are called) merchant-trade post, where I used to fish while seeing in the distance the wanderer's palace.

Also in Upper La noscea there's my favorite spot-area in the whole Eorzea, will show some day. But.. It's the highest spot there! You can see the whole area, Pharos Sirius and Limsa in the distance, the wanderer's palace... The _Ughamaro mines... And that music playing meanwhile (And nobody noticing you around, good meditation spot)
