Is there a decided on best food choice for white mages? Does it depend on what stat you focus on? I have been using pineapple ponzcake atm but I am wondering if there is something else.

Pineapple Ponzecake aren't too good because the stat requirements are super high, you are likely not getting much benefit from them. You would probably be better off using lower tier food.
Buttons in a Blanket and Mulled Tea are what I usually go for.
Mulled Tea is fantastic.
why do people go with mulled tea over pineapple juice?
NVM mulled tea is better unless you have a lot of piety.....like u would probably need omnirod
Personally, I use HQ Mulled Tea. However any 'juice/tea' will give you a solid stat boost...choose according to your level/needs/pricepoint. (although, I am pretty sure Pineapple Juice is currently overkill)
That said, other options are also pretty good. Some Healers Like Pastry Fish for example, others Buttons in a Blanket (although I avoid any foods for WHM with +Crit on them)
Heck even plain old Rolanberry Cheese would work if all you need is +Vit :P
Mulled Tea, most definitely. When I use it, unless people are doing pretty bad, on Primals I pretty much stay at full mana a lot of the time if I'm caring for it.
I use Buttons in a Blanket for my WHM. Crits is nice for the bigger heals when needed, especially in Coil.
Black Truff Risoto for me. Det, Vit, Crt.
I've been using Mulled Tea HQ as of late (almost pushes me to the 5k mp threshold), however i plan on testing out Black Truffle Risotto for the + Determination and Crit, may be an option as well.
You'd be better off with buttons in a blanket. Max determination difference is only 1, so the only point of using black truffle risotto is for the higher vit, and you need 500 vit for it to be better than BiaB (and that's assuming you even have the 400 determination needed).
still trying out different food, but feel i get the best results with pastry fish. Buttons works fine too. Also feel depends on the fight. i.e pastry fish for t5, buttons for ex ifrit.
Came here to post what Lyrinn already said excellently.
Using higher-level food isn't always the best choice. Your stats still have to warrant it. 2% of 300 is a maximum of +6, compared to 2% of 400, which is a maximum of +8
I know I sell a lot of HQ Mulled Tea as a CUL, White Mages on my server drink them like Lucille Bluth drinks martinis.
someone was selling 99 hq pastry fish for 25k so i'm on those for a while..
and i took advantage of the christmas fates to get a few hundred starlight logs for +6vit which i just use when foods not really needed
I do HQ Mulled Tea.
I need to go back and look at the stats now that I'm higher ilvl but I'm pretty sure I would get less benefit out of Pineapple juice.
Maybe with the Omnirod...but at the point who needs even more MP anyway? Probably switch to det/crit food.
I have apple juice I believe, but after this I will be checking out some other stuff.
LOL, at first I only paid attention to the %increase in stats and not the (max), so I thought grape juice was great and didn't know why people would go with pineapple or apple.
I'm on 5k MP and it's pretty good. A flat 100 MP in battle regen is pretty great.
Lol me too. I'm glad it was the first week I began buying food.
My previous raid leader bought me some Mulled Tea one time for raid and since then I can see how nice that small push can be.
im leveling my culinarian to test HQ food, i dont want to buy them now an theres no HQ of some of'em, so, ill post you the results 1 like 2 days, but ive been using mulled tea HQ and Buttons in blancket HQ (sorry my grammar if wrong) and it depends of the situation, i like the food that has crit, cause, well, im a scholar xD, but its almost the same, det, vit, crit, piety is all we need, i dont know if theres one with det, crit, piety
Any comment on pearl chocolate?
Pearl Chocolate NQ caps at 2 VIT, 2 Crit, and 4 Spell Speed. It is terrible at level 50. Remember to pay more attention to the stat caps on food rather than the percentages.
It may be true that your MP bar does not dip low. But that is probably not due to the Mulled Tea. Math incoming!
Taking your Piety score 409 as an example and corresponding MP of 4827 you MP regen is ~96.5 MP (2% of your MP) each combat tick (every 3 secs).
After drinking Mulled Tea, your Piety is increased by 11 to 420, your corresponding MP increase is ~88 to ~4915. You now regen ~1.76 more MP each combat tick. For this increase to allow you to do one extra Cure 1 you need ~226.7 seconds (133 / 1.76 / 3).
So to summarize, the increased MP regen from drinking Mulled Tea allows you to do one extra Cure 1 every three minutes and 46 seconds. This would be two or three cures in an Extreme Primal fight. Not useless, but also not very noticable.
However, the HP boost from food can make a difference that matters in some fights.
My static WHM prefers Pastry Fish for the higher spell speed compared to Mulled Tea. That's what I've been making for him every week since.
