Everyone hates the elf race?

I honestly never see a elf character before( i haven't seen the lalafell or what ever its called either but i hate those guys). Do people just hate the race?

I can't answer for anyone else but me - but I do.

Too much holier-than-thou body expression for my tastes.

No, I think they are great! :) It's just personal preference.

They just can't compete with the cuteness of a Miqo'te.

The Elezen have great emotes.

And whatever happened to archers being the lead jerk dps in dungeons,lately only ones i see shooting the gun early on cds are lancers now. Also funny to note all the people posting so far are not elezens.

its really just a matter of reproduction see Elezen, Hyur, Lalafell, and Roegadyn can only have 1 child at a time (twins etc are an expection) per reproduction cycle while Miqo'te have litters of 4-6 hence the over crowding

There are plenty of us and lalafell around o.o

I like them pretty well. Pale Duskwight or Ganguro Wildwood at least. Wouldn't pick them over lalafell or Mooncat though.

OP I have to ask how you could NOT have seen a a Lalafell... they're one of the most popular races.

Are we playing the same game? :x I used to play Odin and now play on Moogle and on both servers, from most popular to least popular, it has been:

Miqo'te > Hyur > Lalafell > Elezen > Huge-race-that-I-care-not-for (something like Roegadyne).

I don't really like Elezen much. They're... lanky. Elves have always bothered me with their lanky-ness and constant blond hair. Miqo'te are so loved because the internet seems to just love the idea of being a "Neko" and Hyur are popular for pretty obvious reasons.

I personally prefer Lalafell (Vivi was my all-time favorite FF character, hence why I'm a BLM Lalafell), but at the end of the day it's personal preference. I still see a lot of each class, though. You must be exaggerating greatly by saying you've never seen them or you just aren't very observant and didn't notice the difference between a small Elezen and a tall Hyur...

Maybe on his server all the Lalafel are the tiny model and he has poor eye sight?

I don't hate Elezen per se... But I can't stand how tiny the head looks compared to the rest of the their body, and they have such stiff animations, it's almost painful watching/playing one.

So much hate...

I think Elezen suffer from the fact that they're one of the most overused races in fantasy (elves).

And there are literally trillions of lalafells. They reproduce by dividing, like cells.

This is exactly why I started a BrotherhoodOfElves LS on Excalibur. We elvaans need to band together and fight the racism against us in Eorzea.

Im always an Elv, everquest FFXI, FFXIV.... Tallest and elegant.(tho i s think roegaydens are taller in FFXIV).

Who wants to be 1/34789438947384 Miquote and 1/34743349 Lalafells?

I feel better knowing im in the minority.

Personally feel, Elv are better looking Paladins, Lancers and i would say Bard but that AF is ugly as hell.

Oh yeah, wait until Ninja and Samurai comes out, see which race rocks them the best.

You're also only the only ones who don't look stumpy as hell in that unfortunate cowl-and-uggs combo that so many pre-50 casters have to endure.

I dont like dem hibbies too err elezens, in fact i dont like whole gridania and Kan-E-Senna whinning how she cant hug trees all day long with empire at the gates. Only good elfs are dark elf slaves :p

We stand proud like the mighty Dhalmel. Hater's gonna hate. PS: Elezan have the best overall stat balance of any race in the game.

I was an Elvaan in ffxi and tried out the Elezen race in ffxiv and they were nothing alike. The running animation for the race really bothers me. They look like puppets on strings, their movement is very rigid, the exact opposite of what an Elf should be. I decided I was going to switch races when 1.0 went down and we were allowed to completely redesign our characters, very happy with the decision.

Maybe you should have chosen which school to go to more carefully instead of choosing Lala or Miquo'te, you might have learned to spell correctly.

People choose other races over Elves because, well.. They look awkward (Females anyway) and their shoulders are way too broad, which is a manly trait that turns some people away. Personally, I'm not a fan.

I really like Elezens... The reason I don't play one is because there are not short options for them. I was an Elezen on 1.0, changing to cat was hard ( ' ^ '

I'll keep my fantasia in case they ever add more customization for Elezens!

I always play races that resemble elves in all games I play where the options are available, personally.

I've noticed that a lot of people go for what's cute to them and in this game, that happens to be lots of cat persons (Mi'quote and such), hence why there are so many of them, followed by Lalafell.

All of the races in the game have their own sort of appeal, it would seem that not many of them appeal to Elezens, unfortunately. Oddly enough, the fact that there aren't as many Elezen as there are Mi'quote out there, kind of makes me admire them more.

I have an Elezen and I love it!

But....... I just love my Miqo'te that much more! ^_^

It's always nice seeing that fellow Elezen passing by though. They are good people.
