Anyone else wish they could have a pipe?

*Apologies in advance if this has been touched on in one of the quality of life threads.*

I think it would be really cool if our characters could equip in-hand items that weren't weapons, such as Aideen of Fallgourd Float with her pipe:

It wouldn't necessarily have to serve any purpose other than simply adding a bit of character and flavor in downtime moments. Perhaps this is a feature that could grow out of the vanity system? Anybody else think it would be cool to have little trinkets and personal effects as in-hand items as opposed to weapons all the time?

On a separate note, I'm also hoping for "casual / street / civilian" wear. Some of the DoL/DoH gear comes close to pulling it off, but I'd like to see this concept taken further. For example, I wish SE would make this outfit available:

And yeah I'd love to relax in something that's not my armor that's massively sweaty now because that's all I wear... ever.

I personally wouldn't mind a pipe or an emote that triggered one. However with the over the top purge that is going on with smoking in the US, I'd half expect a push for the ESRB to rate the game AO just for a hint of smoking being in the game.

I wouldn't care for a pipe personally, but the idea of non-weapon items to hold would be nice. Musical instruments, flowers, pets, books, etc etc.

I thought about that too, but since there are already NPCs that smoke, isn't the damage already done, so to speak? I'm no expert on the rating criteria of the ESRB, but I'd have to think that they wouldn't quantify the offense of a player character engaged in tobacco use over an NPC. In all honesty, I'd be happy just to have the ability to hold the pipe like Aideen does. A smoking animation would be really cool and immersive, but I'd be happy with less if it was the difference between something like this making it into the game or not.

(Ironically, IRL, I'm not a smoker of any kind. When I made my character, something about her made me think that she may smoke a pipe. Go figure.)

There's something really sad about that second image. It's the one thing in Wineport that stood out to me; yet, it's not important at all.

But yeah, the man's outfit is great!

Totally agree about the civilian/casual vanity items. I wish they took some of the energy and creativity they put into housing items and applied it to other cosmetic items.

Pipe or stem of wheat would be kinda cool. I like the old style Japanese pipes with the long stem.

I would love to have some non-combat items for role-playing and general socializing reasons. The game has prostitutes, beer, and dark humor so I doubt cigars will be a problem.

Yeah, people could say that "this is casual BS I just wanna raid until I reach item lv5000 then quit the game because it carted to my linear-progression-or-die mindset and now the game is too easy as a result," and to them I say yes, it is casual. It's meant to be casual. And I love it. :)
