So, I'm a level 50 bard, with my zenith weapon, all darklight, some myth gear.. and I'm still just under 4k HP... Id like to get to at least 4k HP, but am not sure what the best way to go about doing this would be.. Any suggestions ?

Get higher iLVL gear on the left side. Crystal tower gear, Myth Gear, Allagan, etc.
But if you're really set on getting more HP right this second, you could buy some i70 accessories and meld some VIT.
You should also use food if you aren't already, that might be enough to get you past the 4k mark.
Getting i90 on the left should easily put you over 4k, I sit at 4482 unbuffed, and go up to 4850 with party buff and food. You can get a gryphonskin ring and meld some vit into it, too, since Allagan ring doesn't drop till turn 5.
I'm pretty sure that with party buff, and any high-end food will give you 4k~ish HP.
with full i90 & food, brd will get 4.6k+ hp (no crafted acc)
Bard shirt has a ton of Vitality on it. You could also reaspect to have a tiny bit of vitality if you wanted.
I think as others have said, replacing your left gear slots (Body/Legs/Head/Hands/Waist/Feet) with i90 gear will increase your Vitality and Dexterity alike. Replacing the right side usually tends to improve damage unless you're crafting i70 accessories with Vitality IV materia meld (max Vitality of these pieces is +10).
My bard has all DL except for 1 ilvl 60 ring and Zenith weapon with ilvl 90 head and body and I'm at 3931 HP:

Just to give you an idea.
Why do you need more HP than your gear is allowing? Bard is very mobile and the last class that should be taking any damage.
You simply need all AF+1 Gear or Allagan on your "Main" Gear. Not sure what it would be with all iLv80 but I would go with Full iLv90 and you are for sure good.
I sit at 5k hp on my bard if I run vit accessories.
What accessories are those??
Looks like a call for the bard tank
Tank Bards, huh? It sounds REALLY neat to have, but I doubt you'd use any of your songs, which is a huge complaint among other players.
It's bad enough I'm pressured into using songs in lots of dungeon runs. ;__; I'd use them anyway, it's how I geared myself to be.
I'll stick to my high Piety...
Depending on HQ food I use I'll have 4699~4730hp with party buff and food on and that is with Ilvl88 average (Zenith, myth/allagan, hero belt, and rest is ilvl 80 or 90 accessories). Only t5 really requires the heft of HP, everything else you're fine with an average of 4~4.2k (since most everything else that would hit you for extremely high dmg usually means your group messed up on something or you shouldn't be getting hit with it in the first place).
Just gear/spec for vit even if it means using tank accessories. You'll get loads of vit and especially parry which are super handy for staying alive. Yeah you could go full i90 dex gear, but it won't do you any good when you're laying on your face. A dead dps does no dps!
Full i90 set sits me on 4337 HP without any buff, should be well enough.
As a BLM, this thread is disgusting
Let's see... tank bard... Tanked sastasha as brd with 3 dd and one healer party... Tend to tank green add in garuda hm... probably few other things as well. But I do have a more defensive oriented setup.
