I need advice for dealing with summoners as a healer

I'm legitimately looking for how I can better deal with a summoner as a healer (I'm playing whm) I don't mean for this to be a whine thread, I want advice.

Anytime I solo queue and there is an enemy summoner I usually get rolled over, the debuffs go up so fast that it is essentially impossible to esuna them off and you'll do reduced healing the whole time miasma is up and if you use purify to deal with it I end up getting stun locked or slept by other classes.

I can either:
Sleep the summoner
Sleep the healer and have dps focus summoner
Pop attunement and hope they don't notice

If the enemy team instead focuses someone other than me and get the full debuffs on them the amount I heal them for is not enough to keep anyone alive. (I'm in full i70pvp except hat/belt/jewelry). If I try to esuna them they die before I can get any healing period off.

I'm rank 16 now so I've been pvping for a bit, but what have other healers been doing to in similar situations?

Ask ur team mates try kill summoner if somebody have silence/stun save it until summoner use surecast when they pop equanimity go behind wall/pilar until it is over if somebody get full dots they can purify all clean and try cc other crew members + sleep garuda if u have time.

Esuna off the Disease debuff and proceed to heal. The danger phase is over when they use Enkindle, 2 debuffs will not cause fester to do major damage..

The best thing you can do if you're being focus is to kite from pillar to pillar trying to esuna the disease off. Then once you get it off try to sprint away and keep enough distance so that if he does get another disease on you you can cleanse it or run away until it DRs out completely. Attune early enough that dots wont kill you. If you're not being targeted wait for rouse to drop off his pet and sleep it and focus on keeping your team spread out while sleeping anything that wont get broken. You're in danger of being killed anytime he has Aetherflow Charges and you have disease on you.

Doesn't it still prevent sleeps though?

I don't think it prevents the PvP sleep, but it breaks the PvP sleep if you use it?

Depending on the comp, if I'm getting focused by the SMN I'll sometimes burn my Purify on getting those three dots off me. Half the time the SMN doesn't even notice and slams me with a whopping 0 Fester. I probably wouldn't do this with a PLD breathing down my neck or a BLM running around nearby though.

If the smn is retarded, kill him, if he has a brain and knows how to press 1,2,3,4, get up, go get a drink and come back to click leave.

If they are targetting me I tend to pillar hump/leeches myself as long as I can..when it seems like a losing battle with dots I purify lustrate and sprint while spamming lustrates and focalization to try and survive the burst..and if my dps still haven't killed one then I atunement if my hp goes below 50% with no lustrates because of the delay. Usually by then either the smn is dead or their burst is gone and I have 20s of equanimity still to blow.

If they burst a dps...I just let them die and use the PvP res so they come back at 50% with no sickness and that way I still have all my cooldowns and they blew their burst.

I know this doesn't help you as a whm...and really doesn't help you if you don't have ranged dps or a Blm queing with you ....sooooo just wait til they get nerfed..

Use your purify as soon as the third dot hits you; next disease will be shorter and the smn will have to recast all 3 dots again before they can burst you (I don't know why people think SMN burst is OP, especially when everyone thinks its crap in PvE- you have to cast 3 spells before you can even start to burst and you can just rush the SMN before he can get the spells off). Use Esuna liberally if you are being targeted; use it only til disease comes off if someone else is being targeted, because your healing is going to be needed.

As a healer the walls and pillars are both your best friend and worst enemy- SCH gets an advantage here because they can park their pet somewhere where it has more vision. Rather than circle around the wall, stay near one end and strafe back and forth to constantly break the SMN's line of sight, and if they get close to you hug the wall. It drives me nuts when healers do this, I can never seem to get my spells off, so abuse line of sight to its fullest.

Care to tell me what I've been doing wrong since the game launched? The fastest burst I've come up with is (after dots) fester > ruin2>energydrain>Wither>Aetheric Burst>Ruin2>Fester; I try to throw enkindle in there too if possible.. Fester depends on DoTs being active, the PvP skills have just over half the potency, and ED is half the potency as well. Meanwhile I fight agianst marauders who butcher block for ridiculous amounts all buffed up and more or less 2-3 shot me. Tell me, what does SMN have that does more damage in less time than Fester? Yes, enkindle is a bit more powerful, but you can only (realistically) use that once, while you get up to 3 festers in a minute. If after all that stuff I named your target isn't dead (and often isn't with a SCH lustrating), the most powerful stuff you have is all on cooldown for the rest of the battle (most of the time).

So basically, it takes a significant string of skills for SMN to burst someone down; it is a powerful burst, but it's not nearly as quick as what I've seen from MRD and some of the better melee DPS players. MRD can kill any caster in far fewer actions.

As a summoner... don't let me get all three Fester dots on you. (Bio II, Miasma, Bio). Miasma 2 will nerf your healing, but it isn't part of the Fester trio. If I can slam you with three Fester dots, Fester, and hit you with Enkindle, it's going to be huge burst damage. Your best bet is to just kite, try to sleep me or my pet (if someone else hasn't) and Esuna/Leeches off DoTs when you can. Healers who sprint behind walls are really difficult to deal with because you can't "cut them off" easily. Be warned, however, that if you are being followed by more than me... it is possible that you can get 'stuck' behind a wall without your teammates to help you.

For clarity: it nerfs healing effects cast upon the affected targets, it doesn't nerf healing cast by a healer with the effect onto someone that doesn't have the effect.

Anyway, the running trend you're obviously seeing here is abuse line of sight. Try to get your enemies on opposite ends (not sides) of one of the walls, it will be very difficult for them to cast on you without getting closer, and as soon as they begin to approach you, you can just move down the side of the wall opposite the side they approach you from.

If you could also dispel a melee DPS's main source of damage, sure, i'd agree with you. Til then, nope.

Instant dispel..hmm maybe. Dispel having a cast time and only being able to dispel 1 debuff at a time is a joke tho imo.

Rouse prevents sleep from landing for the duration, however it will not break a sleep that has already landed.

Dispel needs to be instant, Djlovedrop and I are like 199-1. When we play together neither of us use fester until our initial burst is over. The only dot we use is miasma to kill most people in the first ten seconds of the match. The match has to slow down considerably and attunement will usually have already been used by the enemy healer.
