Labyrinth and its terribly behaving players

I recently noticed rampant behavior issues in Labyrinth, and I'm sure its not only me, but do people seem to make even more of an fool of themselves in this sole duty? My most recent, and surely not the first or last, The tanks pulled when not everyone was ready, and we died the VERY first trash pull, so when suggesting that the tanks should ensure that everyone is ready before pulling mindlessly instead of actually taking a good suggestion for face value, they proceeded to harass me all the way up to the first boss, at which point they were still doing, and the very moment I said that they were childish, they vote kicked me from the group.

I just feel there should be more of a punishment for so blatantly being so uncooperative in such a large dungeon, It didn't really make me all that angry, it just feels a lot like a recurring problem in the raid, as in nearly every group I'm in has many people that harass and troll for no apparent reason. I have a feeling it isn't just me.

My first ever venture into the Duty was last week, and besides missing the first boss it was a flawless run =[

Sorry you're having trouble with some fools!

Report them for misusing the kicking feature and move on.

I have had one flawless run in the many I have done. The trolling in CT ruins the dungeon for me. We have no way of preforming the other two alliances, can't votekick someone on another alliance....SE really needs to do something so that we can control the children that seem to find their way in there to make it harder for everyone else.

I think being in a such a large group gives you even more of the "anonymous jerkness". It's a rule for me that CT alliance is a bit like kids school. Which made me laugh at first but now only frustrates me. Sure I also had some flawless runs, but that's exceptions.

Sounds like you should have just ignored them instead of stating something completely obvious. Advice is one thing but most people get annoyed when they get called out for something blatantly dumb they did. If it was a mistake they probably just got defensive. If not, trolls will troll, you just fed them again better to just ignore it. Getting snippy and calling names like childish is just as much harassment, so unfortunately you don't have a leg to stand on. Best bet is roll with friends if you can and boot people who are being jerks.

Why does everyone seem to forget that you don't get to control who the other 16 people are that you go into CT with? That's not an option.

I've definitely had some really really really bad alliances in CT.

I've had trolling tanks that intentionally would try to wipe the raid and would screw up other tanks by provoking off the MT and then pulling the boss into everyone else.
I've had people start rooms when maybe half the raid has gotten into position or are even there.
I've had dps decide that they wanted to initiate King Behemoth because we needed to "gooooo gooooo gooooo" even though people were just getting into position.

Then of course there is all the trash talking and it usually is the people that F'ed up and caused the wipe that throw the most blame around.

All in all, yeah CT seems to expose you to the worst that the playerbase has to offer.

The rest of that group was just as bad for votekicking you as those tanks were. They either just didn't pay attention to who they were votekicking or we're too afraid the tanks would quit if they didn't get their way :/

Worst I had was two nights ago. Alliance B's tanks were... just awful. Their healers just as bad. They were struggling to keep alive in Bone Dragon, Atomos, Thanatos- we wiped a few times due to their alliance.
Comes to behemoth, I say in Alliance chat that it would be best if A or C tank this as B seems to be struggling.

B immediately launches into racial slurs against me (Google Translate is awesome). I was called a filthy gaijin (outsider/foreigner) and a whole heck of a lot of stuff I'm not gonna repeat here.

We make it through to Acheron, and upon both A and C calling ready i tell my tank to just go pull Acheron, that it's safer if we do.
So he does, and B chucks a hissy fit, all /sit'ing. Of course this causes a wipe when Ancient Flare is cast.

Next pull, they all just stood huddled up, none of them assisting in the fight at all unless a claw grabbed one of their own. They ran into the shields etc, but none of them ever touched Acheron.
We downed him easily enough, which seemed to anger them and they went off at us calling us gaijin again and hackers. A quick lodestone search after leaving identified 6/8 of them being from Mandragora, their FC didn't show up on their character sheets though.

For me, it seems like it's always the first pull, Bone Dragon and Atomos that brings out the trolls. Tail swipe and skeleton stacking makes wiping the entire alliance way too easy, and people treating Atomos as a DPS race has them doing unproductive things to slow down the other groups (i.e. not standing on the platform). I've seen stupid things on Behemoth too but I haven't had any obvious issues with him. I guess he's not as fun to troll with?

This is pretty disappointing to read. Sorry that happened to you OP. I was looking forward to CT, honestly. But I've heard nothing short of complaints and disappointments, mostly over alliance teamwork and/or trolls/abusive players, and while it doesn't put me off of trying CT when I finally can, it isn't a very motivating factor.

As a minor remedy, I'd recommend perhaps forging an "alliance" of free companies. Perhaps meet and form positive relationships with at least 2 other FCs on your server in order to run CT? I'm aware there's no guarantee that you'll all end up together (SE, can you do something about this or no?), but it's worth a shot. Worst case scenario: you meet a bunch of other players that you can enjoy playing with, CT or otherwise :)

Two tanks can't vote kick on their own. Apparently 3 others agreed with them. are you sure your behavior wasn't also questionable?

I've noticed CT has become a huge tank e-peen arena as well. I constantly see tanks comparing and bragging about their sword sizes. and this just leads to havoc, bickering, and general wast of everyones time.

Crystal Tower was bound to have trolls and drama queens thanks to the 24 player requirement. It's such a shame that we can't form our own 24 man instance (yet) so that we don't have to suffer from pubs. I never had a troll yet, but I have encountered massive rage quits and drama the minute we wipe on ANYTHING.


It's sad too because Crystal Tower is actually very fun.

Seriously, it would be so awesome to be able to preform alliances to queue for CT.
I would really like this to be added to the game as raiding becomes more prominent.

I think the devs said they are going to try to make it happen, but it's not anytime soon.

I just had one tank in the other alliance that wanted to be the "MT party", alliance A. He just stood in the middle for every boss and asked B to move to the left/behind.
He literally just ran in when at first alliance A was still at the left, he just took all of alliance B's trash mobs and left A's side empty with only one OT. And bone dragon onwards.
Instead of arguing, B just moved, guess they couldn't be bothered to deal with him.

This whole concept of tanks in CT being horrible and egotistical douches is really more of a two way street, at least in my eyes as a tank that has done CT many times and both as mt and it.

On one hand, yes, there are many many horrible tanks that have inflated egos and that act like they can do no wrong and that people should be thanking them for even queueing.
These players are unarguably bad and are the bane of any group, however in my experience there are a lot of terrible dps and healers too.

On the other hand often times perfectly good and experienced tanks will get flamed by other players when it was really the other player being lazy or messing up that screwed everything up. Tanks just make easy scapegoats so undue blame falls easily into their lap.
A perfect example of this was a ct run I did. We got to King and I was going to mt him. I was looking to make sure everyone was in position when suddenly a bard runs forward and attack king, starting the fight. I see this and immediately provoke, shield lob and run forward to get in range, during which time the other dps have begun to nuke him. In the 10-12 seconds that it took to run to position, do a full combo and wrestle back emnity from the DPs that were going nuts on him, a number of players were killed and this ultimately ended in a wipe. Then the same bard that started the fight prematurely starts flaming me over chat, saying that " I should quit being a tank because I suck ... Blah blah blah"

So anyways, it goes both ways and terrible and rude players are unfortunately common amongst all roles in ct.

I don't think anyone is saying tanks are the only bads or trolls in CT. I've seen DPS get flak on the Allagan Bomb because no one was killing the adds. It's just that, unfortunately, tanks do get the spotlight in a lot of the fights just because of the mechanics involved, so when a tank does mess up or intentionally wipe the alliance, it's very noticeable.

Many people treat it like an easy mode fate and act like idiots in the process.

School holidays maybe?

MMO's always descend into filth when the children are allowed unlimited play time.

I have also seen some hilarious tank behaviour. Tanks insisting on tanking behemoth/iron giant despite clearly struggling with proper sentence structure and the failing to tank where they should be, followed by a rage quit. Basically CT has affirmed my pro-choice stance.

Alternatively, I'm sick and tired of the snail's pace every CT group runs at.

You may blame people like me for pulling too quickly, but on the other hand, I'm not there to wait around for 23 people who want to randomly AFK or take their sweet time all raid. CT is horrible for people making others wait.

I wait to see that everyone is there, and at full HP. Then I wait about 5 seconds, so there's time to cast protect, then I go. I should not have to wait the 1-5 minutes after each pull it takes for all alliance to say they're ready. Trash pulls definitely also don't require 24 people to be present.

If multiple people are AFK during a pull, it's their own fault. If the raid wipes because of it, it's not the puller's fault, it's theirs. Don't join a raid if you have other shit you need to be doing.

I was part of a truly epic Crystal Tower meltdown which ended with us clearing Acheron with 6 minutes left on the clock. There were probably a handful of us left in the 24 people who actually stayed with it through the entire dungeon; people were dropping left and right. We wiped like eight times on King Behemoth, partially due to trolling, and the culmination of the entire thing was four attempts to vote-kick a Marauder from our alliance (not a Warrior) and three attempts to vote-kick the other Scholar. The first attempt to vote-kick the Marauder was successful, but he just rejoined in progress and the next three attempts failed. It was just bizarre.

I mean they simply could have queued with people. This whole "you were asking for that kick" logic always amazes me. People do get wrongly kicked/banned.

I just started doing CT runs late last week, so I had/have a lot to learn. I've seen a lot of different behaviors and I've had wildly different parties. I have had parties ranging from the fun, smooth, wipe-less runs and I have had parties from hell, filled with wipes, bickering, and vote-kicking.

All I can say is that the poster who stated that Tanks are generally more noticeable is correct. It's much harder to keep track of so many DPS (unless he/she does something very bizarre), but due to most of the fight mechanics even the smallest mistake by a MT or OT is noticeable. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I quit a CT run tonight because I messed up three times on King Behemoth and didn't want to get flamed. I was also pretty embarrassed by my stupid mistakes, but I already started to catch flak before my death, and I just couldn't sit through a flame-fest… the arguments are the worst part of CT for me.

that is just our generation of internet people. every form of criticism (or anything really) is perceived as mean and hurtful, extremely offensive.

just be quiet and do your job. that is easy for me since i don't really like social interaction, but i can see why someone might ask why they should. and despite having asked why, i think the answer is pretty plain and simple:

because sensitive people who overreact to everything have the same privileges as everyone else. there are more of those insecure trainwrecks than there are of you, so don't say anything provocative unless it's worth being kicked over.

Except there's one MT and one OT, while the other tanks just need to dps or click buttons...in that case they get to the unnoticeable side. Healers on the other hand....

I think we should make a player warning thread like in XI, about trolls in CT, since SE don't seem to care.
I just got kicked out by an alliance that used duty finder for the last tank spot and got booted just before the boss because they saw that I was going to lot on an item they also needed.
