Fisherman adjustments?

Here are some ideas I have for adjustments to the Fisherman class. It's a fun class to play and there is a lot going on for it, but it still needs some overall adjustments.

1) Give it a fishing net as an offhand tool. (For vanity if nothing else)

2) Have GP abilities which increase gather rate (2 fish per line cast)

3) Have GP abilities which increase HQ rate (500GP for 100% guaranteed HQ on next cast, 250 GP for 25% increase chance to gather HQ, etc.)

4) Give Fisherman a way to show off their best records to others. I'm assuming this would best be done via personal housing...but any way would be great.

5) As it stands, the majority of fish we gather aren't used for anything. I would like to see some more things created using fish. Fishbone jewelry, more food, etc. Perhaps we can craft "oils" using various fish and these oils can be applied to other crafted items?

Just some fish for thought...

EDIT - Also, can we have all bait put into ONE item slot in our inventory? A tacklebox would be fantastic. You could even make it expensive like 100,000k or 900 philo or something. All this bait just takes up so much inventory space when it really shouldnt... lol.

I want to have an aquarium furniture for housing... so we can put some of the fish caught there... having multiple sizes/enviroments *SAAAANDFISHING!* and stuff each allowing for certain fishes to be placed in each... and make the fish animated inside there of course... doesnt even need to be that fancy.. just need to be pretty XD

Can't remember where, but I recall Yoshi saying he didn't want fishing to effect the economy and it should be a "relaxing" thing.

Hell, just this would be nice. Give us SOMETHING to do with GP's.

And for an offhand I'd rather have a tacklebox that, rather than giving any stat bonuses, provides an inventory box that will only hold bait and lures, increasing the box size based on the ilvl.

My biggest wish, Add a line of code to stop the 'please move' message if the last fish we caught is moochable.

Seems like an arbitrary decision to me. And for something that shouldn't be affecting the economy, sharks, sardines, pike, and coral sure move things around a lot.

I always thought a spear offhand might work, though they would need to add in speared types of fish for that. Could probably have carpenter's make tackleboxes if they decided to go with that for offhand or whatever.

I made a suggestion for a Zelda OOT like fishing lake with weight leaderboards and rewards back on the suggestion board. But that fishing tackle box is an amazing idea. My inventory would also appreciate this.

I'd love to have fishtanks - I had a bunch of them in FFXI and I miss having them. This would be a nice way to make fishing somewhat more rewarding and fun when catching the various (otherwise value-less) fish.

Yes please - a tackle box is very much needed. My lures now fill more than a full page of my inventory @50. Since I am still trying to complete my fishing log, I don't want to just get rid of them.

Same. It is very annoying to have multiple pages taken up due to bait!

I think this deserves a bump-a-roo.

Tacklebox should be offhand, limited on how many baits it can hold until obviously the ilvl55 tacklebox, which would simply hold all baits currently in the game.

Still wanting and needing a tackle box. I know fishing is supposed to be truly recreational but if you're trying to get numbers out of what fish bite a certain lure or bait the most you can't very well have many slots due to all bait and lure variations.

Please someone hear our pleas. They make logical sense and i even see some economy stimulation out of these suggestions.

Yes a tackle box would be welcome. Right now I have an entire tab filled with lures and bait.

A shame, I don't get why fisherman has to be so much more time-consuming and less... just less than the other DoL.

Yoshida wants Crafting to be worthless. He more or less said that in a reply for people asking for endgame crafted stuff.

Since crafting is garbage by design, it is effecting all gathering classes. On top of crafting being crap killing gathering, Yoshida also said he does not want fishing to be anything important. So not only would be crap due to the economy being crap already... it is compiled with the fact the devs actully designed it to fail more so then other gathering classes. So instead of crap it is a steaming pile of worthlessness.

Working as Intended......... Yea makes no sense does it

I'd like for them to give Fishing a bit more TLC.

As for offhand, in 1.0 fishermen had a harpoon offhand which was neat- either that or a net would be fun- or both lol!
But yeah... I'd really like a bit more relevance to fishing myself as well.

Fiahing should be intergrated to the rest of the crafting system better. Gol farming is not a good excuse since it's way easier to automate crafting of sellable goods for way more profit and fish botting couldn't match that even in theory.
