I am having an issue with Disconnecting every hour on the hour no matter what I'm doing. It happened a lot during my Free month. Could it have to do with the fact that it was my Free month? But no it wasn't. It was due to a connection issue with the game.
My ISP is Cable One here in Boise, ID, USA. www.cableone.net
I have a 300mb Wireless Router
I play on a Macbook pro that is Dualboxed to have Windows 7 And Maveric (Apple os) on it. It has 8 MB of Ram, a GEForce Video Card 650 MB Intel Core TM i7-3720 CPU 2.60GHZ....
Honestly I dont know whats wrong. I've tried uninstalling the Geforce Experiance like a LS member told me to and So far I havent had a disconnection so far. But Could you tell me if that was the issue? Or is it a Server issue?

usually when it's cyclical like that, it's something running in the background--often some sort of automatic update/renewal process kicking off on a schedule. The trick is in narrowing it down. Can't say for certain it was the auto update side of the Geforce management software... but it's possible I guess. Worth a shot, and it's not too hard to manually check for updates if removing it provides relief from disconnects.
You may be having issues with the wireless as well. Some have had some funkiness in Win7 with wifi drop-offs. Not sure it's been hourly though. -

I've uninstalled Geforce Experiance and It still happened. It might be a Cyclical thing. Could be my antivirus doing it. I could check into that as well. Its Avast Antivirus (free edition) I'm trying everything to be honest. But the Disconnects happen constantly, and I am trying to rule out everything that could be doing it.

I have this same issue and I've even uninstalled the game and got disconnection errors when trying to re-install. I have no other issues when playing other online games or on my PS3 so I'm assuming this is a FF 14 PC only thing.

I've had a great connection 99% of the time I play. Suddenly tonight I'm lagging HARD, and I mean hard. 10 second stops with 1 second of movement.

It turns out it was my ISP. We had severe lack of speed. I was pinging the Excalibur server about 90 to 96 ping. Which is incredibly high for latency. So I had a nice lil chat with Cable one's technical Support and they told their Engineers to get right on it.
I haven't Disconnected in going on 4 hours. I hope I have resolved the problem for Cable one's customer base who is playing FFXIV.
Also If you have Avast Free Antivirus. Get rid of it. It will make you disconnect hourly. (Also use the Removal tool. You can find it on Google) And Geforce Experiance could be pinging other servers so it could also cause the connection with the game to Disconnect and cause Error 90k's hourly too. Thank you <3 -

I have no antivirus running, and no other applications. I even downloaded the newest graphics driver that came in today for my Geforce GTX760. Thanks for the offer btw to look you up. The latest Avast Free works fine with it... at least in Win8. Used it for years also in XI, and now use it with XIV on two systems. Up until Christmas, one of those was an XP Pro 32-bit box. That's now a Win8-64 machine running a fresh install of Avast from scratch, updated to the then current engine at the time of the install. This laptop was also updated last week (v2014.9.0.2011). I play for hours at a time with no problems from Avast on both of them--sometimes 5 hours straight on the weekends.

Completed web chat with SE today on 90000 error after it happened multiple times today. SE first blamed my internet connection. When I advised them my 2nd computer on same connection and its own ffxiv acct had no issues at all they then moved to blame my computer. I advised them the problem only happens with ffxiv not with any other online game or online activity. They blamed my nic card. I did a stress test on my nic card and it passed. They then blamed my cables to my computer from my modem. I've been through 3 cables as I've switched out modems when I believed it to be a modem issue. They then blamed port forwarding. I advised them the other computer uses the same modem to connect to the internet and has no problems at all with ffxiv. They claimed port forwarding was computer specific. Not once would they admit something could be wrong with the game. I urge all of you having this issue to do webchat or call SE to complain about the issue as they seem to currently believe my computer is the problem.

NAT has come a long way in recent years, and you may find you don't actually need to forward your ports--that's often more something to use to rule out localized routing/security issues (like to punch through firewalls and such). And we have a lot of devices that can be on my network, and any number of them can be active at any given time for various content (cut the cable channels out, so we stream a lot on top of gaming on multiple devices at the same time), and the only problems we've run into is if we are streaming too much at one time.
Might want to give it a shot without the port forwarding, just to see. Provided you are getting full pass-through from your modem to your router, it should work just fine. You may need to tweak some security options in the WAN sections or something if you've got the full-on firewall going or something (SPI firewall, NAT Filters, SIP Algorythm, etc.)... but otherwise you may find it works fine with the default security settings. -

I've never had any problems with the game but I have been getting the weird 90k then Lobby server error
My brother who plays the game, same house, same internet was still connected to the game just fine but I got booted
I was still connected on VoIP too with my friends talking just fine
I believe its really SE broke something (explains the last 2 maintenance that happened) -

could also be flakiness on the nodes as well. Recent weather issues... oversold markets... could even be bad hardware injecting feedback/noise on the line down the street that knocks people off intermittently.
Can speculate all day I guess. It doesn't seem to be massively widespread yet--very likely it's regional. So it may actually be something between you guys and SE having issues, just no one has managed to identify just what it is yet. We once suffered similar issues for 2 days before TWC finally tracked down a bad amp around the corner that was wreaking havoc on a local company's webserver's line. Might need to push through for T3 support from your ISP to investigate line quality not just on your line, but possibly your neighborhood.
