Harassment Topic, unfortunately.

I am not aware of the rules persay, as I am too heated to read them, I just confirmed my forum account 2 minutes ago.

There is a player who goes by the name of (Edited Out) because of holding hands rules. I was in CT DF with 2 friends of mine helping them, and I was joking around, because he was telling me something about melee having priority on Atomos, even though as a BRD I've always been on atomos... I wasn't really caring, I just said, "Alright, ill afk on the circle and pew pew" To which he responds bye bye, and 5/8 vote got me removed from the group. In my a opinion its a very frowned upon thing, someone is either WAY too uptight and in a pissy mood, or hes a jerkface. Either way, not impressed by this particular player from the Balmung Community.

Edit your post, take out his name and FC name.

Naming and shaming is against the rules.

But yeah, he's a dick and so are the other four people who said yes.

Some people don't know what fun is. You could report him for abusing the vote kick feature!

Yeah, not really happy. But at least I know its not an isolated incident and that player has been causing issues. I never thought I'd come online to a forum and complain but, man I just ... mildly snapped and said NO! NOT HAPPENING TONIGHT!?

You can't blame the single person when others voted to dismiss you. I'm sorry.

Oh if you were on the forums for the past 3 weeks since vote kick was released, you'd have read loads of these stories. You can't have the craic at all anymore. You'd be slowing down the people who run it 40 times a day and don't have a sense of humor!

I'm almost full 90 and my group quit, I was just like whatever. I didn't think a comment like that would warrant a votekick. As far as the other people in the group voting as well, you do realize that in every raid system in almost every game, half the people don't even pay attention to the kick pop up and just hit yes, assuming the person who is kicking is looking for the groups best interest, without going back and looking at the situation? Happens all the time.

And yes, holding hands rules, lol. If a player his being a dick, you should be able to call them out, internet anonymity shouldn't be a crutch for finding justice.

Melee hits Atomos because if the melee stays on the button 9 times out of 10 they end up sitting there with their thumbs up their butts the whole fight because the tank doesnt pull back to the button and the range just nukes it down in mid-field. Ive had to stand on the button a few times as melee and its boring as heck. Now if youre used to running with a lot of ranged DPS of course thats a different story but it makes more sense considering otherwise the melee is just sort of sitting there useless.

To play devil's advocate, I've had too many times in CT, CM, etc. where something goes wrong and one player says "well I am just going to afk" or "I'll just stand here then." And become completely useless there after.

Jokes are often lost on the internet and those situations are pretty sucky to begin with.

So maybe he didn't realize you were kidding.

that was my first thought, too. I probably wouldn't have initiated a vote kick until you .actually. afked, but yeah, it simply wasn't funny for the sheer fact that people DO that all the time. and kicking afk-er is one the main reasons the vote-kick was even put in the game to begin with (that should definitely be a hint for you that your comment wasn't funny)

now people vote-kicking for all kinds of crap now, that's definitely an issue and I hope SE goes through with handing out bans for it. you know there's an issue when people kick you because you can potentially loot on 'their' gear piece.

You said nothing about what the party set up was. I'm assuming it was 2 tanks / 2 heals / 1 melee and 3 ranged. Need to know the whole story for us to agree with you or not.

Also, I would find it really funny if the vote was 6/8 leaving you to guess which one of your 2 friends voted you out... or were they one of the 5? hmm... lol

Isn't 4 the majority, not 5? Two is a majority in a 4-man. The person gettin kicked gets no vote. I've never even seen a vote kick window pop up yet, but this is what I hear.

I will also go devils advocate here. Why were you upset over being put on the button? I play ranged, and unless we have 4 ranged dps, I am almost always on the button. Mainly because it is more efficient. Raids wipe because people dont kill the adds fast enough, and burning them down is much easier as a ranged than a melee. The fact you were complaining about it would not have been enough for me personally to initiate a vote/kick, but I may have agreed with it, depending on the actual conversation in the party.
