Predictions to 2.2

Hi guys!
I was watching Mr. Happy's predictions about 2.2 and to be honest even tho I agree with him like in 90% of the stuff he said, I still think he left some things out :o!

So I wanted to give it a shot, and share with you what I think its comming into the next patch.

*note, some of the following information, has been already "confirmed" by Yoshi-P and some other stuff its mere speculation*


-Primal fight: Leviathan (already stated by him)
-Sahagin best tribe quests (he stated that "maelstorm" was an important Word for the next patch. Also (I dont remember exactly where) but he stated that each patch we were going to see more beast tribes quests. If he is bringing leviathan, its almost certain that the next beast tribe quests, has to be something with it. Therefore im guessing the Sahagin beast tribe.
-Salamander mount : each beast tribe, has a "mount" u get from their quests. The only animal big enough :o in that región would be the salamander :D
-Main scenario quests, revolving around the maelstorm: if leviathan is comming to the next patch, its probably going to be unlocked through some main scenario quest (as moggle King).
-More Coil turns and CT floors. Im not sure, but im almost positive I read somwhere about the coil turns, and somehow I can imagine he can do the same with CT, increasing the difficulty each floor.
-Player housing: im not sure if it was for 2.2 or later on, but maybe we can hope for finally getting player housing.
-PVP balance changes
-More PVP options like capture the flag.

Finally, he stated that the big word was Malestorm, and tbh im kinda hoping to see the "musketeer/corsair" job released on this patch. I mean their headquarters have been since 1.0 (beta) in lima lominsa, and it would add something for those legacy ppl to level up. I was even suprised he released the arcanist before the musketeer/corsair.

JUST GIVE ME MUSKETEER ALREADY

My predictions:
Levi actual fight: Pre-req of having already cleared Pharros Sirrus and it's questline, followed by redoing cutter's cry, teleporting to a few places, getting stuck waiting on a FATE. Both hard and extreme modes available. iLVL85 weap from hard, ilvl95 accessories from extreme. Fight mechanics will include a debuff that traps users in bubbles and one where Levi traps one person in his maw.

New beastmen quests for sahagin and kobolds, pieste mount and some weird steampunk from kobolds. If devs are generous maybe they will add another 6 daily allowances to the total (prob not)

A new 5,000 commendation reward: Armored Gobuue

New storyline finishes up with hints about Shiva coming soon, but no actual fight yet.

House will be teased but pushed back til 2.3 to add chocobo raising which will itself be pushed back til 2.4

Coil 6~10 will be added with 10 being a fight against Bahamut's head floating around the arena while the few remaining enemies they haven't recycled from FFXII yet pop as adds with even more absurd fight mechanics. 6~9 drop ilvl95 gear 10 drop ilvl100 weaps or even better, drop the item needed to +2 relic into new graphic.

I also suspect we will see force popped versions of Odin & Behemoth in 2.2 if not 2.3, but they will additional add 2 or 3 new rare pop FATES with Chupon, and Gilgamesh among them.

Next Hildabrand chapter will hit, rewarding a minion of some sort.

Some confirmed stuff (don't have links atm)

• Turns 1-5 getting nerfed when new turns introduced.
• New CT raids will be in patch 2.3
• Two new 'Hard Mode' dungeons (perhaps Sastasha and Brayflox?)

Some of my own (wild) predictions:

• ~3 new mounts, ~5 new minions
• Further balancing for DRG, Small tweaks to WHM, BLM, MNK
• Reduction in the discount cap for FC housing pricing from 50% to 30%
• 30% Reduction in the # of philo mats required for Vanya/Darksteel/etc.
• 30% Reduction in Philo costs for Darklight gear.
• New iLvl80 crafted gear and weapons - CLASS exclusive (!)
• New gathering mats (for above gear)
• Introduction of new Class-only skills.

How about legacy players able to transfer to non legacy servers!! 6 months from the start of aar should be feb or April. Sooo SE let us transfer!

Well if there is levithan/ shiva then that almost means new hideous egi summons :D

Don't look forward to this until the 1st Expansion. There is the guild in Limsa Already.

What I would like to see is: Patch 2.2, Released with PS4 FFXIV (or when the PS4 beta servers merge with the PS3/PC servers), new class Musketeer. Just looks good in the headlines: "PS4 FFXIV beta merges with existing servers, New Class Released."

Actually i don't know when but it is highly likely that musketeer will be the 1 new class released before the first expansion since Yoshi-P has said he is going to release 1 new class before the first expansion.

We are only going to get a 2nd new class if we are lucky and Yoshi-P's time allows it.

First of all, we are planning a new race for an expansion pack. For the classes and jobs, we will introduce them through patches because all of the Legacy players have level 50 jobs anyway. When we introduce new classes and jobs we will probably increase the level cap at the same time.

About what I want to introduce- it’s more like what I think I have to introduce. Something related to guns because the (musketeer) guild in the game. Something related to that I think I have to introduce.

Also I do feel that scouting classes are lacking so I want to bring in Thief, Ninja and those that have to do with stealth. Also more casters like Blue Mage and Red Mage are something I would like to add.

I agree with most things except for the mounts. The mounts tend be the signature mobs that are found in the beastmen strongholds. Thus, I would assume that Sahagins would use Efts and Kobolds would use Doblyns.

I really hope we get a new job in 2.2 mostly because I expect by 2.2 to have all the classes I am interested in leveling capped already. I've done gathering, most crafting and Bard / White Mage already and am slowly working on Summoner. I have no idea what I will do once I've completed my crafting jobs and Smn.

I'm betting on us getting the Musketeers too, and maybe a new job or two outside of the one that will go with the guns.

Was it really said that earlier coil turns would be nerfed immediately upon the release of new turns? I absolutely hate that. Could we at least have a year to take on content before they go and nerf it? I probably could get turn 5 done before 2.2. This I know. However, I don't want that pressure especially when there could be unexpected real life obligations. Casual players like challenges too. We just don't get there as fast.

I am against them releasing the next new top tier high level gear so fast. Come on it has not even been a year or two and you want to release new end game loot?

I still am leveling my main toon, not to mention my subs (which do not have a single allagan yet).

Do not mind if they release alternate top tier loot compatible with current gear or better looking vanity slot items.

But don't you all think it is too fast for new gear especially with current RNG systems.

Really hope they don't waste too much/any time with pvp. MMO pvp is for scrubs anyway. Play Quake live, SC or Dota if you want competition. Oh right, only the baddies who can't play those games pvp in mmos seriously.

yup was mentioned "front lines" but i guess that will added in 2.3 or 2.4


so 2.2 is Leviathan HM and Extreme, 6-10 coil , new tribe (new quest hub) more main story quests (leading to levi) , hope we fight levi in a ship (FFXIV 1.0 limsa opening ftw!)

i doubt SE will add new class in 2.2 (my guess is 2.5 ) and more lvls? 55? i doubt that SE will add more lvls until expansion (if that)

After getting some darklight armor, I hope for any way to change gear's appearance. Going around like I had rummaged in a trashcan and found some random pieces of metal to "dress" myself with was never a major goal for me. :P

That would be a horribly uncomfortable mount to try and sit on. Unless the crystals on the Doblyns were shaped into a chair. Then it'd be awesome.

One thing I have to say is that if they're "waist deep" in it they should start announcing and screenshotting more stuff. If everything from 2.2 has been announced so far, then start showing us some stuff.

Well how long it will take for Musketeer to be released comes down to what was left of Musketeer's development from 1.0.

So far we know they have gotten the concept of Musketeer done in 1.0 but how far they gotten with Musketeer's Job, cross-skills for the Jobs, and basic skills remained unknown. If they left enough finished material from when it was still being developed in 1.0 then it shouldn't take too long. If not 2.2 then sometime between the time frame from 2.2 to expansion release. Releasing Musketeer during a Major Update right when the release of 1st expansion is about to be release stretchs it bit too much since there is still a flow of new players arriving into FF14ARR and the announcement of the first expansion release will spike up the new player population.

Releasing something like a new class needs proper timing due to how it will attract not only old players but also new players.

Then there is the factor of the expansion containing more new classes as well.

We know a new Race will be introduced in the expansion but we can't ignore that there is a possibility of new classes in the expansion due to the introduction of Ishgard and Ala Mhigo.

Introducing Musketeer as part of a Major Update that is right next to expansion release that may contain 1, 2 , or 3 new classes can cause far more stress to the servers due to the large amount of population still running through Musketeer then suddenly get a much large population stress with the new classes that may be the in expansion.

The last thing we want is another server issue due to the Arcanist Boom we had during the first month of release.

Probably last minute disappointment similar to housing prices

I predict Revenant's Toll gets even more developed. It was kind of a surprise to see it change with the last patch. If we get new regions, I can see the devs altering the landscape in the same way. (say a tunnel through the frozen wall to reach the northwest region of Coerthas for example, perhaps the Wyrmking's Perch.)

A Doblyn mount however... I like the idea :)

I'd say they would release the egis with a level cap raise adding me job quests or something of the sort as you would need to become a better summoner in order to learn to control these new egis :) my thought on that any way. :) hope it happens

Well what we will definitely get is:
- Leviathan Story/Hard/Extreme
- Moogle Extreme
- Kobold/Sahagin dailies
- 1 new dungeon, 2 HM dungeons
- Vanity system and dyeable DL gear (maybe other rare stuff)
- new BC turns (with new gear)
- new story (duh!)

What we might get:
- new token tier with related gear that goes along new BC drops
- maybe upgrade of relic weapon/maybe new quest line
- class tweaking
- maybe Ishgard will open up and/or rest of coerthas
- Frontlines? (probably 2.3)
- new GC ranks
- Ultima Weapon Extreme?

2.3 will have:
- Ramuh and Shiva battles
- more CT
- another new dungeon, 2 HM dungeons
- Ixali/Gigae (or Dragon) dailies

Acheron extreme

I think they mentioned there'll be AF2 equip in 2.2 (art presented in the latest live letter) but not sure about it.

Is there a list for confirmed stuff for. 2.2? I'm guessing vanity slots is already one right?

To me any quests they add will be a plus but beyond that I hope they focus on other areas of the game besides raids a bit in 2.2 too.

Because myth gear is not AF2 but AF+1. People will learn to call them as designed..
