Is my Roulette broken or something?

I do the daily roulette on all 3 tiers every day, but I'm noticing something odd when I do the low-level one. The description of it says any dungeon between 15-47 or trial between 20-49. Yet to this day I have NEVER seen it send me anywhere beyond Halatali or Ifrit. Is this right? I'm really getting tired of being sent to Sastasha and Tamtara every single freaking time I use it.

The highest I've entered is Haukke Manor, but yes, the most common ones in my experience are the three starter dungeons, followed by Ifrit. I've also more or less done the Duty roulette in the low level category daily. :p

The low level roulette seems fairly partial to a select few in my experience. Most times I get Halatali or Satasha, I have gotten Tamtara and Ifrit maybe 3 times since the patch and I do it daily for the rewards, and some days I do the roulette more than once or twice. It's a sad day when I'm dying to see Aurum Vale and I hate that place with a deep, burning passion.

The DF server match ppl according to their queue time, not level.
So the chance of having at least 1 player around level 20 in the group of 4 is quite high, and even if the lowest player is something like level 30, there are still 50% to be put in a pre-20 dungeon.

I've gotten Cutter, Qarn, AV and Titan in low level roulette.

I think it's affected by cases where people are queued for specific dungeons. In the cases I mentioned, I was paired with people who were queued for those specific instances. When I get the low level dungeons, like Sastasha, I've noticed it's almost always with people simply using roulette.

What's frustrating is getting a place like Sastasha when clearly your group is all synced down and could have gotten something higher, like Haukke or otherwise. I think what they do is it checks what is queued, readies a dungeon on a first come first serve basis, readies the dungeon they could have gotten, but then someone (level 15 or so) leaves queue. Well, the dungeon is ready anyway, so someone else replaces that one who left queue. My theory, anyway.

I call it the Copperbell Mines roulette. :P

it's still a roulette, though, so when you have someone who's roughly lvl 30 that means you have a 50% chance of getting a starter dungeon and a 1 in 6 chance of getting Haukke. your lowest level player determines your chances.

if they put people in the highest dungeon possible by default you'd still have the problem of eventually getting sick of a dungeon, it would just be a different one

When 2.1 first came out, I got lowlevel Titan a lot. Now it's Sastasha and Copperbell. The occasional Ifrit. It bothered me at first but I don't care now... although Sastasha is painfully, painfully slow and long. As long as I get a good amount of exp from it, it's good enough for me.

I try to speed run that place every chance I get. I die a little inside every time other party members want to slow down and detour for all the little tiny garbage chests that only drop like 2 bronze pieces or some crap like that.

4 days in a row I've gotten Sastasha with my lvl 40+ monk.

You get whatever people are waiting for a role for. Just so happens that most people are doing lower dungeons.

Sounds a bit counter intuitive but if you're really sick of the lower level ones in roulette just queue for a higher level dungeon for a change. With the buffed exp it's not that much different than running the dungeon in roulette. Especially if you pick a dungeon close to your level.

I've got 1 queue into SV and one into DD, but never got a primal past titan yet.
