More Crafting Content Please

How about some Crafting/Gathering dungeons? Where you would gather high yield, high quality items with friends and avoid getting killed by monsters using stealth and being "crafty".

Or take on massive projects that would require the coordination of multiple crafters across different disciplines to complete a massive item; Such as Airships, Water/Underwatercrafts, Unique Mounts and Gigantic Machines of War (possibly for PVP).

Also for participating in and completing these dungeons/projects you would get additional recipes for more advance craftable items, possibly craft HQ gear that comes close to raid gear quality. Being a crafter/gatherer does not just have to be about making money it can really be something even more amazing than it already is.

One last thing, how about some specialized retainers with MASSIVE amounts of space just for crafting materials. Imagine the possibilities

I like your thesis here. The crafting dungeons idea kind of scares me, but it may be a valid suggestion nonetheless. For now the boost to creating is with housing as you pretty much have to craft (or buy crafted) things for a house, such as a roof or wall or furniture.

Honestly I'll settle for top gear with materia slots so at least people buy crafts to bond with. That may not be impressive from a crafting sense, but it at least gives some purpose to it.

Your idea for top gear with materia slots sounds like it might actually happen some day and would be extremely useful I think. The housing boost might be a little out of reach for me right now as my guild is being stingy with the gil reserve's. We just HAVE to have the big house on the best plot for some reason and are no where near the goal. I still really like the idea of crafting dungeons though even if they were a copy paste of the already existing dungeons, just because I like the idea of stealth missions with a purpose other than progressing Jobs.

I can see it now! Harvesting some HQ materials from exclusive sylph gardens or rare ores from a volcano infested with bomb monsters, lawl possibility.

Completely agree. Crafting and gathering classes needs to have more fun and interesting utilities besides making money!

An idea from the top of my head...

Crafting parties.
Light/full DoH parties formed together to make grand projects. Supply your own mats, HQ mats grant extra quality as usual. Parties are rewarded Gil and/or items depending on the total quality achieved at the end of the craft.

Example, make a royal carriage (100 difficulty). GSM WVR CRP blacksmith required.
10 cobalt plates 10 mahogany lumbers 5 walnut lumber, 2 Rose gold nugget etc.... Chance for a mount, minion or 20k to each player. Or philosophy tomes. Maybe even mythology.

Honestly, I'd love to see crafters getting more attention and being more relevant for endgame.
I'd love to get material drops from raids/dungeons/trials to create real endgame gear and weapons which, when melded, are on par with current ilvl90 stuff.

An idea from the top of my head...

Crafting parties.
Light/full DoH parties formed together to make grand projects. Supply your own mats, HQ mats grant extra quality as usual. Players play the crafting mini game modified for parties. Parties are rewarded Gil and/or items depending on the total quality achieved at the end of the craft. 0 durability means failed craft as is normal.

Make this a daily or allowance thing. Like beastman or leves.

Example, make a royal carriage (100 difficulty). Lv 50 GSM WVR CRP blacksmith required.

Apparently there is going to be content in the future with I believe FC housing, which is like a workshop where you and others work together on ships and stuff. Was in a live letter or something. Wonder what they will do?

OMG CRAFTING PARTIES yes yes! How awesome would that be? There could even be a side quest line. Also, the inclusion of a myth tome reward would keep us from being excluded from the raiding content aswell! (cuz ya know.. kinda hard to get that when all you want to do is craft). I like the carriage idea as well, I heard weddings are going to go live at some point in the future so this could be a nice gift for the bride and groom.

Right on! Or perhaps make gear that is strong enough to attempt the event, kinda like helping new people gear up. Like if the gear drops are i90 perhaps the craftable gear potential from the event could be i75 or i80.

Whaaaaa, I must find this.

I think thats probably still in early concept stage. Might be subject to change.

I'm really hoping its not tied to FC housing since I'm sure it will exclude alot of people, even when fc housing becomes cheaper.

I just heard that the crafting jobs were not something that were supposed to be all that relevant to the game. breaks my heart a lot :((( Why would they implement such an awesome system in the first place then? *scratches head*
