Lag is still a problem

Network Maintenace did not solve the problems caused by the December 26 Network Maintenance. This game is unplayable if half my group freezes every 20 seconds in Twintania and Titan EX and cause a wipe every time someone lags. Please just revert things to how they were before Christmas. Worst Christmas gift ever. Twintania Extreme and Titan EXtremely Extreme. Gotta predict Twisters before they happen and landslides before they even appear. If people keep stopping and then jumping forward in time, it's packet loss, right? Fix your packet things, SE.

Yes, the servers were only good after maintenance when noone was on them. But as for right now while doing Titan Extreme, the game still screen freezes as usual. Why is Square Enix being so cheap and unwilling to fix the server issues?

Been doing Garuda EX and after her 1st jump sometimes she disappears and I can't see her..... They need to fix this and other places.

Walk out of a landslide at as fast of a rate as I always do, get knocked off anyways, and this is me knowing the landslide is coming. Right when it spawns I start moving, get hit about 20% of the time, but that 20% accounts for the whole fight, I might get knocked out in 2nd phase, or when titans at 30% health, either way it makes me want to quit playing this game.

Apparently it's not only Verizon FIOS people, either. Whatever they tried to "fix" with the recent maintenance made it worse for everyone. Just go back to Dec 25 network! You didn't help anything with these maints!

Oddly enough 90k error hit me 5 times today. No lag in between or anything.

I'm fine with my wired comcast connection till it hits the server farm in Montreal. Once it gets there all hell breaks loose. But the ping to and from there is 40ms with 0 packet loss. Still rubberband in instances. I'm not sure its not something else like corruption on the servers themselves. They do use shared architecture... (hard drives, memory, cpu) all in the same rack or blade. Something to think about. Not something we can fix unfortunately.

I have Comcast ISP and live in south Florida and I get lag spikes and unresponsive moments far to often. I play on a high end I-BuyPower PC also. Makes me sad as only reason I bought a PC was to play this game on max settings and the lag is so frustrating.

The lag issues seem to be weirdly random, and may not always have to do with a particular ISP. I play on the same network as another person who is also playing FFXIV on the same server, usually in the SAME instances together. Sometimes, I have no lag but he has huge lag spikes. Other times, I have a bunch of lag spikes but he has no issue. (We are using a new router and modem, and experience no issues in any other game we play... so FFXIV is definitely the cause, or catalyst.) And then there is the occasional 90k with 'no warning' whatsoever... extremely frustrating. The day after 2.1 was released, people kept getting DCed from my Garuda (extreme) party left and right. The running joke was that Garuda's hardest hitting move was her ability to DC people...

It has nothing to do with the ISP, as this seems to be happening in most players Internationally.

The endgame dungeons only becomes play-able for us during past 12mn GMT+8.

after the last network maintenance happened by 26th dec my connection returned back to be ok

but guess some ppl lag issues not fixed yet

OP I feel your pain that's why I quit but wanted to tell you something that might make you feel better. Your Tarutaru is awesome!

I've always experienced this lag and random 90Ks since the game released. When 2.1 came out most of it had gone away except when I'm in dungeons, I'd move before and still get hit.

But when they did a "Hot Fix" a few days later it has practically made the game unplayable for me and my friend.



We both moved onto other games until they fix this issue with connection, only occasionally getting on. Was very bad that they decided on server-side updates where most MMOs today are client-side. I can truly say that them trying so hard to fight RMT has greatly damaged their game. I've been on many MMO launches and this has by far had the worst rampant display of RMT ever at a launch.

We both play form China and latency is expected by us, but this is hands down the only game we have terrible terrible connection issues. We don't have the same issues on the other online games we play together, besides the usually latency we get for playing on NA servers from Asia. And China only has so many ports that go outside the country and they get congested at times.

That has nothing to do with lag, that's a display glitch every single enemy that can "jump" can have happen to it. It happens with Ultima, Gaius, Garuda, Ifrit, Titan, NPC helpers and so on.

Nothing is playable during NA prime time. I have 58 MBPS internet and have never lagged on anything, ever. Why did SE suddenly create lag for me on Dec 26th? Change it back, please.

Well it hit me 20mins ago in TitanX moved out of bombs with FCmates, bomb explode, I dead with them. On their screen they say I moved out of the bombs 1 sec later then them.

On my side, I moved together with them and stood between them. Plumes and landslides are ok, but strangely bombs (-_-

Also, plenty of people seem to be playing and doing content just fine even at peak, the only hangups seem to be Coil and CT on reset, then again, maybe hyperion is just having issues like Balmung and Masamune seem to get brought to its knees whenever Odin spawn.

Now, do you remember Early Access and shortly after? That was the definition of unplayable for the majority of the playerbase.

You played 1.0 in the first mth of release? If early access is unplayable. Then that is *insert word here that does not exist yet basically telling people that the play word does not even exist*.

This is the problem with NA forums. I doubt there are a lot of JP threads with topics like "It's hard to see Odin" that end up with people replying and saying "I don't agree with your usage of a word commonly used in the community we're both obviously a part of" and it just trails on and on.

I'd like to play this game in prime time like I was able to before December 26th. SE, please address this. It's not fun making people tired for work the next day 2-3 times a week because you did weird things to your network for no reason.

Not really an NA problem got a few JP doing TitanX having some problems too.

This, forever this!
I gave up being a tank due to these lag spikes, I'm not faring much better as a DPS

Looking at other games now in the hopes I can find something I enjoyed as much as this Pre - Hotfix.

EDIT: WP, AK and Primals are unplayable, literally! Half the time I'm spamming skills to an non responding client and when the freeze finally ceases, the mobs are dead and my party is on to the next lot already. This affects my ability to get relic quests done, collect phil and myth tombs and really begs the question what IS there left for me that I CAN do?

Its becoming clear players may just have to leave to get the issue even looked at, I really dont want to leave as I loved this game so much!
SE, please! for the love of god just change it back already!

Please just make the lag spikes stop!!!!!

biggest question to ask yourself, did you do portfowarding and open all the ports the game needs?
or if you dont use a router did you open them on your firewall?

Can't progress past Titan HM because lag completely destroys groups.
