Please add more fun achievements!

Currently, the achievements in game are quite boring...

- Complete 100 dungeons.
- Complete 1000 dungeons.
- Defeat boss X.

etc...

I would like to see achievements that make you rethink strategies and revisit old content in different ways, for example:

- Defeat King moogle XII while all other lesser moogles are still alive.
- Defeat Titan Hard mode after every player in the group has received at least 1 mountain buster in the face
- etc!

haha! yeah this sounds like fun. i wouldnt mind this at all. currently the achievements are just grindfests

i got a few funny ideas

deer in the head lights
Have a party wearing the rain deer suit and rain deer hood and successfully beat demon wall


ICE used be IFRIT of you (i used to be a fried of you -bad pun i know-)
Beat Ifrit (Hard) wearing the Snowman Costume
Reward title: Iceman cometh

snow white and the 7 lala
Beat any dungeon with 1 female hyur and 7 lalafell

this is like yours BUT IT GLOWS
be in a party with a relic wepion while you have the zenith version of the same relic equipped (e.g in the party 2 summoners one with the veil of wyru and you have the veil of wyru zenith)

and finally
Dose this mount make me jump higher?
jump while mounted 1000 times
reward title: bunny rider

Yeah, the achievements in this game feel like Squeenix was just checking off a ticky box. "We got achievements? Yup. Okay, moving on." No thought at all went into them to make them actually engaging.

My favorite achievements in MMOs are the ones that require you fighting a boss in a particular way.

I don't think this system supports a great deal of versatility that would be good for achievements. They would need to actually add mechanics and things alongside the achievements. Pretty much every boss fight is done a certain way and any deviation from that way is frowned upon and chances are will be fixed.

But I have said they need to put targets on the bottom of Titan's arena ala Pilotwings for all the times we jump-wipe it. Give people something to aim for at least. They could add an achievement for it too. Someone else suggested rings like Sonic or Rings to pass through on your way down.

I would like to see more fun objective achievements though, rather than just numerical statistic accumulation achievements.

That way I'd actually have a reason to try getting an achievement.

There was an old thread last year on the old Lodestone where players came up with all kinds of interesting achievement ideas, and the mods actually said they were passing on the ideas to the development team, so it's definitely worth thinking up good ones! (One achievement mentioned in that thread that was indeed added into the game in 2.1 was the 'Kindness of Strangers' one where you have to raise a KO'd person not in your party - several people mentioned similar ideas in that thread to reward altruism by players). I'll see if I can find the link to it and post it here. :)

- defeat a primal with a broken weapon
- defeat a primal after everyone died at least once
- heal the tank 5 times in the row if he has critical hp during a primal fight (give a red cross earing as a reward)

Here are five:
-defeat ten enemies as gatherer or crafter (or achievement for each class)
-survive a powerful ability with one HP left (holmgang probably best way to get it OR it doesn't count)
-defeat any HM primal with only four players (take a team to take turns with and the original four have to not do anything, or the could be a specific duty to select)
-defeat turn 2 with each combination of buffs and enrage method (adding this achievement will mean they don't have to get rid of enrage method)
-defeat turn four without attacking anything until phase 4.
