PGL/MNK is technically a dual-wielder. >.>
Coming in 3.0!
Ps3 limitations.
It hasn't been released yet, and technically yes it is because it's using 2 knuckle/claw type weapons, 1 per hand
I doubt there will be a class that uses weapons in it's offhand slot (if this is what you were implying for dual wielding), so it would most likely be similar to Monk's weaponry. There's also the incredibly small chance Pugilist could branch into Ninja (only basing this off CT around which has similar appearance and name of Ninja FF11 armor. PLEASE do not take this as fact as I could very well be 100% wrong)
Yoshi more or less said that he wants to add whatever jobs people want.
A lot of people want to see ninja.
It will likely happen.
From what I have read popular jobs seem to be rdm, thf, nin, sam, drk, dnc, blu and musketeer (msk?). So fight for your job to be the first to be implemented.
judge a enfeebling dual wielding sword tank!
THF/NIN seem to be the highest demand right now, so they're probably the first on the list. DRK/SAM/RDM are all close behind, so I wouldn't be surprised to see one of those first as well.
I'd fully accept Dancer, though. My toon is already as flamboyant as he can be (male BRD life </3), might as well. _-_
Lol.
I honestly don't think you're going to see any dual wielding classes in FFXIV.
You may get things like the Pugilist who have animations that use both hands, but I don't think we're likely to see any classes that actually utilize the offhand slot for a second weapon.
My main thought process is that it screws with the loot tables too much. Let's assume that you have a knife fighter that uses two daggers, one in each hand. It now takes twice as many attempts to get your drops to come down. in addition, how is potency judged? is it off the main hand, the off hand, both?
Logistically, there's just no real advantage to be gained here. I'm actually surprised that GLA, CNJ, and THM don't just have one weapon that comes with a matching shield, like the PLD Relic, except all linked to just 1 weapon slot.
In FFXIV 1.0, there was a reason for this. Shields had their own skills that you could learn and you could only use them if you equipped a shield. Very early on this caused a lot of problems for tanks while leveling and it was scrapped, the shield skills were moved into the weapons.
i know alot of ppl on ps 3 and it seem to suck on ps 3
I'm certain that those who are asking for a dw class don't care which slot its in, as long as there is a weapon in either hand. Monk is a good start but we all like animations of double sword, dont we?
Just noticed this (derp), but the icon for the gladiator class is cereally 2 swords crossed. I'd reckon at least one future dual-wielding job comes from gladiator.
dam right and im sorry if i put brass knuckle on both my hands im not dual-weilding im still just boxing or using some fighting style with fist. monk is just a fist class with claws not a true dual-weilding dps
it was the only reason i lvled gld in 1.0 i thought he be a dps and also beable to daul-wield
Musketeer? I'm guessing that class will use pistols, given that they're already in the game.
And Sazh dual-wields in FFXIII.
Because somebody on the design team realized that dual wielding looks stupid as all hell.
I think we need about 3 more tanks and 3 more healers before we over-saturate the game with even more DPS.
Besides, Yoshi has said that Musketeer is coming first.
