Personally I'm very happy to see these bugs fixed. Especially the LS list crash/ market ward server failure issues.
Thank you SE! :D

I would guess bug fixes and possibly preparation for 1.18, not to say they're actually adding anything.
Should snap off a bit of the 1.18 logga and slap it in that patch, like the not stopping when changing between passive and active.
Please please please people don't get excited for this and then unleash a **** storm of threads on release day when disappointed. It's gonna contain nothing, nothing to see here. Move on!
More targeting modes! Hooray!
I heard we are getting Chocobo's and Cait Sith in 1.17c. Oh and ridable pokemon too.
Expect what you want, but don't unleash hate threads if you get disappointed.
I'm not expecting anything really but why is it so hard for them to release the patch notes ahead of patch day? what do they hope to keep so secret every patch that they can't release the info the day before the patch day. It just riddiculous to hold back on that littlest piece of info that would prevent all those "what's it gonna be" threads and hype building leading to emotional crashes
1.17c patch notes are up:
"Increased size of shrubberies"
"Target mode D - Toggle between dead PCs and shrubberies"
1.17c it will be "the GM's anouncement". it will be just an event
c will be a groundwork./bug fix patch
until 1.18 dont expect anything big
Oh snap.
I partially called this in another topic as a joke.
Since we know that there is no content in this patch, my only expectation is that there is some back end optimization, bug fixes and maybe adding some prep files for later use so that later patches aren't like 2-3 gb or something.
I would hope it is at least some kind of improvement to the server side decision making, or possibly a little UI tweak? Who knows? But I do know this, if I see /targetmode D being added, I may cry my kidneys out through my tear ducts.
Also expect a 4 hour download for "hidden" files :)
Expect 4h download for same or slightly modified 1.17 files.
I'm more pissed that we'll have another 300+mb download but only 5mb of it be new -.- stop wasting my fking bandwidth!
Here we go again, another overhype thread that leads to a flame thread there after :D Hooray!
I think at this point it's safe to say Square Enix will crush even our lowest expectations.
What people did not expect an unannounced patch following a producer letter? the circle is compleat
As with all letter updates "a, b, c... etc" they act has hot fixes, and sure they might add a feature or two, but it's usually very small... Like B before it, C will server to do more prep work so that on the day 1.18 comes out it won't take forever just to download it.
They are not hidden patching anything. 1.18 will come entirely on mid-July.
SE is taking every occasion to make their player more unsatisfied day after day.
What's the difficult of release patch notes before the patch release?????
The reason is that they don't know what they are doing, prolly. <.<'
My 2 cents.
Honestly i've got two sides of opinion for this. One hand, i'm becoming impatient and just want to play XIV the way it should've been day 1. On the other, Yoshi and team seem to be literally releasing another game to take the place of XIV (changing everything from battle mechanics, equipment stats, animations, removing physical level and ranks / replacing them with simply exp and levels as far as terminology goes, and more), so its understandable why its taking so long.
Its not that the new team doesnt know what they are doing, its just the end of the pool they decided to jump in was so deep...it's taking awhile to surface.
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG MY DAD SAID THIS IS THE GOLDEN PATCH!!!111
