So botting is a normal thing in PvP now?

I kept getting owned by blms tonight, multi-slept nearly instantly. And it took me while but i finally got stuck in a party with one of the blms that had constantly been sleeping me. (I'm a healer). After a very long fight, it became pretty obvious he was using a teleport bot.

The guy would port around the arena randomly. E.g. i would raise him in the south, he would get up in the south. take 2 steps, and port to the north wall away from everyone.

We won. but it's seriously disappointing that people are now botting to get wins. I don't know how much it really helps but it seemed to keep him alive for like 40 seconds with 1% of life left at one point while i was slept.

I've noticed other people doing this now as well. Is this becoming a new "thing"? Can you even report people cross-server?

I've never seen teleport bots in arena, but I've seen a lot of people who mass que/afk for 10 points (could be botting or just watching youtube/hulu/etc.) Regardless, it pisses me off.

we have a warrior bot, he has the extreme mode weapon and full crafted morale gear. pvps all day everyday and never upgrades his gear.

You are aware that our skill Aetherial Manipulation will occasionally look like a teleport, right? Im assuming you meant he was porting to walls away from friendly party members, since you have to target party members with AM.

People are always accused of botting, even people who don't understand MONK will claim shoulder tackle is a teleport, or people who never gathered claim they seen a player appear, when all they saw stealth being disabled.

I'm aware of all the diff abilities that look like that. But this guy was porting around.
for example he would bounce around the arena non stop sometimes, going from behind a wall, to the middle, to the other side, back to another side, etc. It looked like one of the teleport bots you see hunting fleece.

There is someone named Yoshi that bots PvP. When I Que in he stands in the same spot then buffs. When the gates open he just stands there. But will cure you if in range... Sucks, every time I'm with him instant loss.

Aetherial Manipulation looks like the BLM is SLIDING across the screen.
The same is true with Shoulder Tackle.

Yes you can.
At the end of the match, I believe it tells you who they are and where they are from.
Our GM's can access logs from any world.

anyone can get a bot software (really easy to get), however its a question for them whether to use it or not.

i doubt they were using teleports just to hop around arena ...

if you decide to cheat and use teleport: simply set a bot to teleport to the unreachable spot (into textures) and just hang there. Time limit is what, 30min? How many people will stay and wait for a draw for 30min when they can't find a 4th from your team?

It is however, very possible that people who have that software are using infinite sprint. Basically, sprint "buff" will always be on a character with no TP used, and that one is hard to see because you don't see tp bars.

There were quite a few ppl botting at some point gathering fleece and things which are now all baned. My hope is that it was SE who managed to identify cheaters and ban them (through pwnage software coding) and not just xxxxxx player reports.

On the Ultros/Leviathan/Excalibur/etc bracket there is a botting archer named Comfort Luvbunny who botted from the 30s bracket and has just hit the 50. If you drag people into the starting area (he never moves) he will shoot them.

@TheVoid, I'm pretty sure I've seen this quite a it actually. When casters sprint from me, I Sprint right after them, and use either Invigorate or Enliven to regain my TP. So with the cooldown on Sprint, and gaining less TP during combat (takes 28 seconds to regain 1000 TP out of combat) you would think that I would be able to Sprint again before them. Nope. As soon as their sprint wears off, they suddenly have a fresh 20 second Sprint again. So I sprint again, and pop whichever CD I didnt the first time. Every time their sprint is down, it refreshes to full 20 seconds right away.

For the moment, a much bigger problem is still the jumping issues. Since Yoshi P posted his PvP update, and asked players to refrain from jumping in PvP, the number of people exploiting it has exploded. Watch some of the people on Twitch, they are doing it knowing full well that they are incredibly difficult to hit, because of the new coding. I have heard of people getting banned for it, and I hope it's true. Exploiting in PvP is disgusting.
