Mid-Range Duty Roulette Please?

I've really enjoyed leveling my lancer up through dungeon content, low level duty roulettes have been fast queue's and fun times. But now that i'm level 26, i'd like to start doing mid-range dungeons to continue to level up. However, every time i try to queue for a level appropriate dungeon, my wait times are upwards of 30-45 minutes each time. Everytime i do low level roulette, i get at most copperbell, which doesnt give very good exp nor let me use some of my newer skills to learn how they are utilized.

So...can we get a mid-range duty roulette to give some incentive for more tanks and healers to get into those?

I support this simply because another tier = another set of rewards. >_>

When you reach "mid range" levels, you gain access to mid range dungeons in the same queue. So other than an excuse to add another roulette bonus, I don't see a reason to split those dungeons off. You get bonuses to compensate when you roll the lower tier dungeons to compensate for the discrepancy in the amount of kill EXP you earn.

Are you sure? Like i said, ever since I started leveling in the dungeons, I only get copperbell in the best case scenario, most times i get sastasha or totorak, occasionally a ifrit which gives nothing for exp.
As for the bonuses, when i queue and wait an hour for halatali, i got 2k exp ish per mob kill, whereas in totrak i get 700 ish. that isn't close to a compensation...

EDIT: also, when doing these dungeons, i dont get to use my newer skills, so even if they gave me same amount of exp, i'm not growing as a lancer in skill, just number :/

I doubt the reward for the in-demand role is really high enough to make people play that specific role to begin with. I know I don't really pay attention to it and still use the class I want to play for DR (granted I can only speak for myself in this)

30 min is not too bad though. if these are really unbearable, find a friendly tank or healer to queue with you. have you tried with the party finder instead of duty finder?

Supporting because I'm sick of Sastasha... it was bad enough having to endure the theme of that place one time, now you want me to do it everyday... no, just no.

The roulette is giving the starter 4 dungeons because theres a rather high population of players going through them. Ive been given Brayflox on low level Roulette.
Honestly, i think you people are exaggerating quite a bit on queue times. I leveled my Monk purely through dungeons in the first month of release, my queue times then were about 25 - 30 minutes each. Now, leveling my DRG in 2.1, my Stone Vigil queues were about 10 minutes each, with one even being instant (pure luck im sure). Hell, even my DD specific queue only took 15 minutes.

if you REALLY do get 45+ minute queue times, you may be on the wrong server or just playing at the lowest possible DF population times.

If all servers were in the same DF queue, would not my queue time experience be the same as yours? It is clearly not. I said the claims are being exaggerated. Not that people were telling lies. Without screenshots, recent ones, of being in the queue for 45+ minutes, constantly, on standard 4man dungeons, I'll continue to call the claims exaggerated.
The average time spent in DF on my DRG has been 10 - 15 minutes.

If we're all in the same pool, You'd still have periods of low population in the DF, when people are doing dailys, raids, or tome farming.

I always seem to get Satasha. Ive gotten Halatali once and the exp there was 2 x Satasha so Id love to get the ones further up the table.

How about just running your intended instances in this case?

I'm pretty sure you didn't fully comprehend the Roulette's function.

You don't get more exp per kill, you get more exp at the end of the run.

I've heard of people getting 130k + EXP when they join the story mode primals.

Agreed would be nice to do mid level stuff as well.

The queue system absolutely sucks. It should match similarly leveled characters together instead of putting Lv40s in Copperbell every time. The mid-high level dungeons are somewhat fun and repeatable, the low level ones are boring and make me want to stop playing. Its bad enough that you have to deal with new players in random dungeoning. Nobody enjoys sitting in queue for 20 minutes only to have all their hotbars greyed out and then forced to sit through 40 minutes of absolute boredom.

Either the group creation system is completely flawed or the population is just giving up on dungeons after Copperbell.

I actually wonder why they didn't add a Middle Level Roulette.

Lower levels seems to cover things between level 15 to 25 and High is for level 50 contents.

It would be nice to have a middle Level Roulette to help new players stuck in the middle between lower and Higher level content while rewarding players who already pass this point by helping these new players.

After all one of the reasons why roulette was released is to help new players get groups for these contents the older players have already passed and to give the older players a incentive to go back to lower level dungeons to help new players.

I kinda tend to agree that a AV run is not mid level to say the least. TotoRak maybe Suken Temple but that is where I would see the divider line being drawn.

Looks like many people leaves the game around level 30. But survivor(?)s reach 50 and populates 50 ones.

Or, and bear with me here, because this might be crazy...maybe Christmas just passed and a good amount of new players started playing after either getting the game as a gift, or because SE had a 50% off sale right before Christmas? And that's as far as they've gotten?

Meanwhile, the players who are of level for Brayflox and beyond are likely very few, or people who already played through with one character and are using the Roulette instead of queuing up for the latter dungeons? Therefor not creating much demand for any of the mid-late leveling dungeons?

Also, did you seriously complain about having to deal with new players? Just...just stop using the Roulette, please.

i have been doing low lvl roulette since 2.1 , copperbell satasha and tamtara always.....satasha the most tho :( is so boring using only 2 or 3 skills

It makes sense that if there's anyone legitimately queued for Satasha, the Roulette people will be funneled toward them. What's aggravating though is when you have a group of all 4 rouletters still getting low places when their minimum level is 30 or higher. Level 25+ is when regular quests will dry up for alt classes and the other sources of exp noticeably slow down. It'd be nice if the roulette was weighted towards the higher level instances whenever there wasn't someone standing in the lowest queues.

You get the bonus after defeating the end boss, not during the run from each enemy kill.
The bigger the difference between the dungeon level and your class level, the bigger the exp bonus at the end.

Mid tier would be nice and just makes sense.

I can imagine it making duty roulette too OP. Maybe have the bonus experience split between Low and Mid?

I just wish I got a higher dungeon than story Ifrit for once.

The point that that Taaz was trying to make was that the XP for the trash mobs is much lower on the low level dungeons than on higher ones. If you are using dungeons for XP, you actually get more XP from the trash than you do for reward at the end.

I'd also like to see a mid tier option, although that could increase your wait time by quite a bit as the number of people passing through that part of their levelling up will be much less.

Another option would be to adjust the XP for the trash to be the same for the max level dungeon that you have unlocked within the tier that you've selected. Even though Sastasha is boring, you could do very well on XP by killing all the trash as that dungeon has a huge number of optional kills.

I only use the roulette for the daily reward then I step out if that and pick the dungeons I want to que for. The wait time is actually not that bad even as dps (10 minutes tops). Roulette gives me nothing but Copperbell so I gave up on it.

ensuring you get placed in only the dungeons you want to do via the random dungeon queue would make it no longer a random dungeon queue...

if you dont wish to run a random dungeon, stop selecting the random dungeon button and instead select the specific dungeons you want to do...

the bonus is for players who WANT to help out and run a random dungeon, and if you are not one of those players, then why should you get a bonus for those kinds of players?

ALL dungeons below lvl50 are part of the LOW LEVEL random dungeon queue for you (READ THE TOOLTIP) as long as you have them unlocked and no one who was in the queue before you needs help with a specific dungeon

If only it was actually random, but it seems to only place you in the level 20 and under dungeons, every fucking time. I would love it if it picked something else for once.

if someone in the queue before you needs a specific dungeon, then you are placed in their run if you are needed - just because you are always needed when you happen to queue up for a random doesnt mean its not random when you are not needed

if you dont wish to help, stop using the random queue and just select specific dungeons that you want to run

I do it once per day usually on a lower level class just for the exp bonus, then do queue specifically. It would just be nice to get something other than Sastasha, Tam-Tara, Copperbell or Ifrit once in a while while using it.

I got Qarn on the first day but that was because there was a new quest that asked you to run it, so people were queuing for it. I've gotten Sastasha once, Tam-Tara twice, Halatali once, Brayflox once, and every time else it's Copperbell. Personally I don't mind Copperbell. It's easy. If you have enough DPS you can even ignore the adds on the final boss and just burn down the boss. It makes it go faster.

ask your PT next time if anyone there needs the run (IE they queued specifically)

you will see that you are placed in that run because you are NEEDED - if you do not wish to HELP OTHERS who were in the queue before you, dont use the random queue

and that does not mean they did not specifically queue for it

i ran the first three dungeons till my eyes bled because i wanted the gear for the vanity feature that will be added later on

my husband ran them till his eyes bled because he enjoys easy runs after a long day at work...

not everyone runs dungeons for the same reasons, let alone for the same reasons as you

but regardless, the random queue is for helping out OTHER players, not for getting what you want

the specific queues are for getting what you want

Duty Finder IS cross server, next time you go into one ask what server everyone is from, and boom you'll have your answer. You can also change your settings to where you can play with people that speak other languages as well. He may simply just play at a less prime time, or a dungeon that isn't commonly queued for.

This point was completely invalidated by the fact that he said he got more XP in Halatali (lv.20 dungeon) than Toto-Rak (lv.24 dungeon). If he said Toto-Rak when he meant Tam-Tara, then sure.
