Crystal Tower Explote

Never done this yet but seems like it may work. How you are locked out of drops every week is once you obtain one item the loot list never appears for you again until monday.


What if you never open any chests until reaching the end? Basically have players go back to other boss rooms and open the chests so theres 4 items in the loot pool. Have 1 person lot on all 4 items and have everyone pass. There you earned 4 items within one week.

Go back into Crystal towers again with your Free Company and repeat it it again 7 more times. Your Free Company 8 man static has earned 32 Crystal Tower drops instead 8 a week.

Like I said never tested it yet but any you mind testing this out.

Unless it's different for Crystal Tower, the items are only rollable for a few minutes. So unless your group can power through all the bosses in a couple of minutes, it's not really even worth acknowledging.

You dont open any of the chests until dungeon is completed. Split pt to run to each boss room open the chest. No need to zerg through the dungeon.

I imagine the nano-second it takes for the first and second piece to drop would be enough for the software to lock you out, so the rest would drop to the floor.

He said to not open any of the chests, so you would just need to make a dash to each boss room again. Though I'm fairly certain the loot lockout is instant the second it hits your pool and the three other items would instantly hit the ground. If the OP is correct and someone pulled this off then prepare for a hotfix.

wouldn't work as soon as you claim need or greed for an item your locked out for the week the other items would just rot because you can't obtain them.

That's definitely an interesting question. Not sure if anyone has tried it.

I mean, you could potentially open all the chests at the same time, and someone could roll need on all of them and see what happens o_0

Never thought of that... but the other two parties might get suspicious of one of the chests is left closed after every boss. And then there's the chance that once you get one of the items that the rest will fall away into limbo as such are wont to do in every other dungeon if everyone passed.

You don't get locked out until you win an item. There would be so much more complaining if you got locked out just for hitting need or greed.

I don't know if something like this would work though. It seems too simple, like something that should've definitely been thought of already when they were putting it all together. If it does though, I think the best way to do it would be to have 1 person roll on everything (if they can), and have everyone else leave the instance so all the items get defaulted to you at the same time. Just rolling and passing leaves time for the system to recognize that you got something, same with letting the timers expire.

Another problem that I foresee is that you'll be shedding a person at each boss if you want to save travel time. Even more suspicious and even more likely to have the other two parties get angry at those people, possibly even kick them with that nifty new Kick feature.

Never went back but do the boss rooms get locked still after winning them? If so would only leave 2 people. 1 at Zombie dragon & 1 at king behemoth or the headless dude. Basically King behemoth dude would get those 2 chests if that pathway is locked.

Openly discussing trying to exploit CT on the official forums probably isn't a wise idea. -.-

With that said, a more non-exploitive benefit to waiting until the very end to open all chests would be that you can see all possible gear and make a more informed decision on what you need/greed on

Not really if its in closed doors and kepted away from public then it can be abused long term. If its made public and its known it actually works then players will not do it because SE is watching now. Now that its made public it be stupid to do it.

Edit: Kinda like with Turn5 glitche once public knew it was out people were not gonna do it.

Yeah, I'm not game to use/try exploits. I probably fall more into the "filthy casual" group and just don't care enough. Plus, I've been through XI and have seen how SE comes down on abusers. lol. I was just trying think of something that wouldn't necessarily be seen as an exploit by waiting to open all chests at the same time.

Heh, this is a good idea. Curious to see how this plays out. As for locked boss rooms, couldn't you just use return to teleport to the beginning of the Dungeon?

Small scale experiment would be to just try this on either boss 3+4, or on any two bosses that are back to back - that way, you don't lose anyone for hte long-term. (I.E., after downing boss 1, ignore chest, beat boss 2, then split up and do the Boss 1+2)

You fall in a hole for the final boss so there's no going back for anybody in there once its downed. You would have to deliberately leave ppl behind, but i would assume that either the boxes dissapear once one is opened, or you wold have to drop one person from the party at each box. If that's the case you would be down 6 ppl on behemoth which is pretty tough.

The logistics are incredibly difficult, but maybe it would be possible, if the execution was flawless.

I would assume the moment loot drops to you, any other lots are invalidated, so you'd have to somehow orchestrate it so your entire party staggers their lots between the items, while keeping them still present in the loot list, then have a single person left on each item and they all simultaneously make the final lot at the same time.

Sounds like a lot of work.

You would have to have everyone leave so the automatic "pass" is done at the same time for all items from that person, clicking "pass" would be too slow per item. I also think it might check if you've casted a lot already, thus if you do 1 "Greed" and try greed another, it might not let you, but who knows if they thought this through, so you might need to let all items auto fall onto someone by the entire pt leaving before that 1 who wants all items.

This could be interesting if someone could try it, I think however the chests despawn when the next instance starts. - Chests depop if opened and loot goes, might have a timer for non opened.

This is really easy to test though
- Form premade PT
- Dont open chests
- At end, open all chests
- 7 people leave -no one cast a lot, delay will mess it up-

See if that 1 guy gets everything or if server registers it on a per item basis, which i honestly think it would, after first item drops to you the others would auto fail because its already registered.

Funny how everything released in the game can probably be broken. AK deathruns, WP Speedruns, Turn1 Snake Boss was Broken, Turn2 Zerg ADS, Turn5 could d/c Twintaina and now CT.

interesting though, what happens if someone clicked NEED 4 TIMES CONSECUTIVELY in ct and everyone else pass. pls upload a video!not me i dun wanna risk missing that damn chest piece for my alt jobs

By the time the character get 1 single item, cannot be allowed to get any more drop, regardless of need greed or pass, it's just 1 CT item at the end. The OP is asking if this exploit works or he actually tested it? :rolleyes:

I like the idea of waiting on the chests just to see what is dropped in total and being able to loot something knowing that something later isn't coming. As for using it as an exploit, if it is, don't do it because you'll probably lose your loot in the long run.

We just tested and you can indeed return after beating Acheron and open other chests -- except for the Thanatos chest. The invisible walls that served to prevent you from passing the Atomos halls re-appear at some point and prevent you from reaching the chest. If you wanted to open all 4 at the end you'd have to leave someone at Thanatos for the rest of the instance after defeating him. We did not test whether you could circumvent the 1-drop-per-week limit, because on the rare chance it works we didn't want to be committing a bannable offense. The downside is it takes a long time to run back from the entrance to the other boss chests, since you can't use the teleporter to get there.

The game will process the drops serially, not in parallel. One will drop to you, the rest will drop to the floor.

If you lot on three things but only have one inventory room, it doesn't crash the game when the gear drops, it drops one to you, the rest to the floor. This is no different.
