Party Finder,A Great Addiition

I just wanted to make a thread about the Party Finder. At first when it came out nobody really knew about it, but now that is catching on many players are using this new feature.

With all the Duty Finders (dungeon finder, whatever you want to call it) in MMO's these days it is so nice to see a game with a feature so simple and effective for playing with random players on your server. I have always enjoyed playing with players on my own server over just queuing up and getting matched with people I will never see again. In my opinion having something like this to bring players inside each respective server is awesome.

Is anyone else as pleased with this feature as I am? Any comments are welcome.

I think it's great, and agree that it needs to be promoted more. So many people I ask about it say, what's that?

True, some still are catching on. But each day that I log on I see more and more groups forming this way. There is no need to sit in one zone and play the lobby game in DF queue. You can get out and enjoy the world and not have to sit in Mor Dhona and spam the general chat if you want to find members on your own server. There seems to be way less spam due to this feature also which is much needed at times.

I've heard of people being a jerk and post wrong coil turns and locking people out in previous turns.

But aside from that, it's definitely a great feature. It deserves more advertising though.

people on my server starting to use it, it tooks time for everyone to realize the awesomeness of this feature

like last week, i joined coil as warrior tank ilvl 76, the group required minimum ilvl 78 so i send tell the leader asking to reduce the ilvl requirement to 76 and he did reduce it so i can join
we 1 shotted T4! first time tanking T4 and it feels great because its a pug :D

It only seems to be used by four or five people on Moogle.

I see the same amount of spam, but people are now adding in, "check PF" or "Find in Party Finder" or something along those lines.

But yes, it is a great addition and does help a bunch

Seeing this too a lot now. More or less it's being used for end game content, and AK\WP SR's. And 9.9 out of 10 of those are wanting experienced, over geared for the content players. But that is one purpose of it. I hope others will make use of it outside of end game only.

That's what is great. You can literally use it for everything. Hopefully even low levels use it for dungeons and fates etc.

I'm certainly seeing usage increasing on Balmung. Often over a dozen groups available at any one time.

Gilgamesh has had 4-7 rotating listings in the party finder every time I've checked over the last few nights. Coil, CT, PvP, relic fights, primals, tome farming, treasure hunts, fate parties, a couple that were just FC recruitment. Got into a "newcomers welcome/until we complete our duty" chimera fight last night.

It's also nice to be able to just /fc Hey, check PF for such-and-such if you need it, group forming. Easier than trying to get all the right people together over tells.

I would agree with OP if I could use DF at the same time as creating a party in PF.

Maybe I should try again using PF? No later than last week, I found almost no parties in there, and decided to create my own, maybe some players will join me? If they don't I'll just go alone in DF, but it's worth a try, just in case.
But then I couldn't use DF.
So I either had to wait possibly hours, possibly forever to get players on my server, or just solo queue DF. I chose DF, because I was certain to enter faster while getting players through PF was a big unknown, even though I'd rather have gone with a group of like-minded players to chain runs together.

DF should be available to people using PF as long as they are alone (the game already un-queues you when you form a party the normal way anyways).
As a DPS and healer, If I am not queueing it means I am in an instance already. I never "waste" time not queueing.
It's too bad we are prevented from doing things while queueing in DF (no PF, no chocobo...)
