I only ever get Sastasha or Copperbell eventhough I'm level 41. I've done the low level duty roulette pretty much everyday since it was added, and many times some days - but always get those two. What gives?

Even by the time a primary/secondary class is level 40, there's only a half dozen or so dungeons available (could be missing one or two sincei 'm not in game to check).
Dungeons
Satasha
Copperbell Mines
Tam Tara Deepcroft
Hatali (spelling?)
1000 Maws of Totorak (spelling?)
Haukke Manor
Brayflox
Cutter's Cry
Sunken Temple of Quarn
Trials
Ifrit
Titan
You've been doing low-level DR around the holidays, when many new players are starting up. If DR is designed to fill in existing parties that are waiting for members, it makes sense that you'd see a lot of Sastasha and Copperbell up front. New characters coming up may be setting the tune for what DR is providing us.
I've also seen Halitali via low-level DR. Yesterday I saw the Ifrit primal fight (normal) as part of a DR group. I think things will get more random over time.
Ive been placed in all of them at least once, but the level 15 dungeons are more common than any other.
Been making me mad. Same thing i've been getting Copperbel over and over and over again. Although Bridgeburner's theory is great sadly no....none of the players were first timers. Just crappy luck of the draw.
I know people that get Ifrit over and over again..boom. 100+K exp 5 minutes of work. but noooooo I gotta suffer through Copperbell 6 times in a row lol.
I see the exact same garbage too. ALL THE TIME. I did my low level random yesterday. All 4 of us were relic geared, and we got Copperbell. Seriously, WTF.
My thought is that the game groups you with other people, then selects content that all of you are high enough level to do. I think the reason you usually get some of the lowest level dungeons is that people are using the duty roulette to level up their characters, so you will often be paired with someone who is lower level. To get other dungeons, you have to be placed with other people who are all high enough level for them before you even have a chance for it to select those dungeons. Just to make it clear, I haven't heard any confirmation that this is how it works, but that is how it seems to work to me. It just seems to me that the queue times would be much longer if it was randomly assigning you to a dungeon and then you had to wait for other people to also be randomly assigned to that same dungeon.
It gets ridiculous how often you see the low level dungeons. Satasha 5 times in a row, on my level 50 fully geared Bard. I have sworn off the Duty Roulette's low level thing except for that bonus XP. It's not worth seeing and being bored in that place so much.
I use the DF to level my classes and at level 40-45 I too havnt seen a fungeon higher then copperbell which sucks but what sucks more is I get like 700xp per mob at that level but if I had got in stone vigil id be getting 1500+
I wish they would scale the xp with your level if im 40 I should have the xp scale up with me so I'm not screwed on trash mob xp
To be honest, i've yet to get placed in those at all using duty roulette. I've gotten stone vigil and braystops most recently. I forget the others off hand, but know i haven't gotten those two, as they are the ones i know best and keep waiting for. Granted, i'm usually on my 50 summoner, if that has anything to do with it.
I'm all for random, but they should make the dungeon at least appropriate for the lowest level in the group. I got a Duty Roulette where I was the lowest level at level 41 on my BLM. And we got put into Sastasha. I could understand that if we had like a level 16 in the group or something... but if the lowest is level 41, maybe they should pick something closer to the appropriate level?
I've been using the Duty Finder over the last week and few days to level up my level 28 (now 34) Paladin. Well, given a few exception (1 Copperbell, 1 Halatali, 1 Ifrit), all I saw was Sastasha, Sastasha and Sastasha aaaalll over and over again. I haven't done the exact count. but it should be something like 6 Sastasha on a total of 9 Roulettes. Curious thing to note, most of the groups I was put in were formed of Synched character who likely used the Duty Roulette as well. So why always Sastasha? Could it be that the system pairs a group of 4 Roulette players in Sastasha as a default choice?
What is your experience with this guys? I'd wish to understand if there really is some issue with DR, and if so I think we should ask the Devs to go check into this... Seriously, I'm sick of tanking Denn the Orcatoothed and his minions.
I seem to alternate daily between Ifrit and Halatali...
I think it makes perfect sense. Think about it: most characters will want to level at least one of their alt classes up to get their cross class skills. Except for Paladins and Dragoons (who are done with useful cross-class skills by level 15), everyone else needs to level up to the twenty or thirties. Warriors will want Provoke from Gladiators (lvl 22). Monks and Bards will want Invigorate from lancers (lvl22). White mages, Summoners and Scholars will want Swiftcast (lvl 26). Summoners and Black Mages will want Quelling Strikes (level 34). And let's not forget that a player can have all classes in one character.
As you see, there will always an higher probability of level 15-26 dungeons to appear in the roulette.
Ifrit Normal Mode can be explained because of new players and old players making alternate characters. Those people will want to defeat Ifrit NM in order to unlock the Grand Companies and be able to get the mount for their alt, even if they don't plan to stick to it or play it much.
Except, Ildur, that most of the people have mentioned that the lowest level in the group was not 16-26, but much higher, constantly getting stuck in the level 15/16 dungeons.
Your theory would hold water if each group had someone between level 16 and 20, but it seems like even if your group has all level 40s you have a higher likelihood of getting stuck with Sastasha or Copperbell.
You are more likely to get lower level dungeons because the level of your group places upper limits on what you can draw, and those low level dungeons are available to lot even when placed with higher level players.
Plus it's not entirely random. Your dungeon is determined by people who have chosen a specific dungeon and are waiting in queue. This is obviously going to be weighted on the low end given the population curve. (Lots of low level characters tapering off as level gets higher with a small spike at level 15 and a massive spike at level 50.)
Your going to get those low level dungeons often i think roulette picks from the list of dungeons based on what people are queueing for and just moves up the list since the first 3 dungeons in the game are the most queued for you get those more often than anything else.
I understand the point of low level duty roulette is to help people fill groups for any <50 dungeon they specifically que for. But I've been in a group with all 30+ players that all random qued and got Satsasha. About all I've gotten is Satsasha or Halitali. I have no idea how to play my scholar because none of my abilities are available in this level range. Please introduce a medium duty roulette (Brayflox's Longstop and up) and simply have it share once a day bonuses with the low level roulette
Yeah I've gotten copperbell the last 3 times in a row. I got ifrit once and I can't remember the others.
I seem to get either Tam Tara or Ifrit which i don't mind on my tank cause they're both pretty quick abit annoying when i'm trying to level an alt job though.
I've done Sastasha so many times that when our tank dropped, I guided the newbie arcanist to use Topaz Carby to tank the rest of it lmao.
I feel like I always get Sastasha, Copperbell, or Halatali these days.
I've gotten Ifrit a few times but dungeons like Hauke Manor or Totorak seem to be a rarity for some reason.
I'm level 45 now, and the only time I use roulette is (faling asleep and/or drinking) when I want to do Copperbell :( I had Ifrit once. I had Haukke once. I've had Sastasha at least a dozen times, and Copperbell, literally 20+ times.
They should make roulette eliminate whatever you've done that day from the possibilities.
Yes, the low level roulette randomizer completely sucks. Over 70% of the runs I've done at level 39-43 (BRD, so definitely not an in demand role) have stuck me in TamTara (I'm officially sick of that damn place) other than that I've only ever gotten 2 other dungeons, none over level 20.
Everyone in my FC I've talked to says they have the same experience, constantly getting the same dungeon with a smattering of others all very low level.
The theory that 1 person is in need of those dungeons and is queuing specifically for it just doesn't hold up. Yes, it's true sometimes and have rarely seen 1st time bonuses, but many times everyone in the party has been level synced and is at least in their 30s if not higher.
One day I was so sick of TamTara I even abandoned it as soon as I saw it's loading screen, 30 min later requeued, got stuck in TamTara again and again abandoned, 30 min later requeued.... AGAIN TamTara. WTF!!!!!
They seriously need to fix this random number generator.
No there is an issue with it, when 4 level 50 will que up for it, and get a level 16 dungeon.
I have been using it for my blm who is level 36, and ifrit was the highest level dungeon I've seen, and I've been doing it for about 7 or 8 days now.
Sastasha tamtara halitali
Only 3 ive ever seen since dr started, hard to believe no one ever gets further than that
I love when I get Ifrit, quickest bonus experience ever. I wish I could get Ifrit on it every day.
Done it every day for the past week and have only gotten Sastasha. This is bullshit, especially when every other person in the group is relic geared (and I'm a level 34 WHM, 50 Relic Bard or 50 Relic PLD....whichever I feel like playing at the time...)
You do seem to get the same one a lot. I have gotten av once ifrit twice and sastasha every other time. For the high level i have only even gotten the manor.
you are getting lower level dungeons first because after Satasha / Copperbell majority of people tend to FATE grind in Quarrymill for better exp.
I've also been using it a whole lot levelling my Dragoon. I've never had a dungeon after Halatali, and even that was only once. It's always Sastasha, Copperbell and Tam-Tara. It just seems weird that people would stop running dungeons after getting to level 20 as I haven't. I keep on running them after the Roulette is done so I can upgrade my gear for free.
I got a full party with minimum level 39 (that's me). This kind of thing has happened all the time. I think there's logical error in their formulae. I think the roulette works the same way as manually choosing all the available entries, but their formulae somehow nets you the lowest leveled ones most of the time
Hello all,
Currently in the Duty Roulette system, the lower level dungeons are being selected more often. However, for patch 2.15 we'll be looking into making system changes that will affect this. While the main focus will remain on prioritizing selection of content that is lacking players, we'd like to make it easier to do content of a wider level spread.
I'm not sure how the system works, but ideally it should pick the highest level dungeon available to everyone matched together if all of them queued for roulette.
For example, if 2 level 50s, a level 45, and a level 38 player are matched in a queue, it should set them up for Cutter's Cry. This way the Level 38 and 45 players can get the most xp possible in their roulette attempt. No reason that group of players should get Sastasha just because no one is in there.
yes i agree have more storyline included for higher level never seen anything above halatali and there are a lot of storyline dungeons between halatali and castrum ....
