Vote Kick Can Bypass Lockout

I have a few questions regarding vote kick and the fact that it can effectively bypass the 30 minute lockout. So here is what I know from experience:

-If you are vote kicked from a duty, you will not have a 30 minute lockout.

-While a preformed party cannot vote kick someone in duty finder, if you take 3 people in a premade party and enter a duty, you can all vote kick the fourth member.

-Once any member of a duty has been vote kicked, anyone else is free to leave without a 30 minute penalty.

So this leads me to a few concerns.

-What defines abusing the system?

-What defines "harassment"? Does someone need to actively grief a party with suicide pulls or harass them in party chat? What if 3/4 people simply feel the player is not holding their own or dragging the rest of the group down, if they kick that person, will they be subject to a ban for abusing the system? I think harassment needs to be more clearly defined.

-What, if any, penalty is associated with being vote kicked? Seeing as there is no time lockout penalty, is there some hidden penalty? Potential for bans? This is important to know for the following example. I went into duty roulette high level dungeon and wound up in Haukke Manor hard mode. The group was fantastic, everyone was getting along and having fun, but it was clear we could not beat the second boss. But if anyone leaves, they have to eat a 30 minute penalty. So, I offered to be vote kicked since I know I would not get a lockout, and neither would they. So its a way to escape what's maybe not a bad party, but one that knows it cannot win and no one should be penalized for that.

I can see abuses possibly on the one side for premade not full groups that fill the last spot in DF and can freely kick that person at will (which likely explains the no-lockout feature), but its also kind of a nice way to collectively end an unsuccessful group without penalizing anyone.

So are there any tangible penalties to being vote kicked from a duty finder party?

No there is no penalty for being vote kicked out. Someone a few days ago wanted them to add a 15min penalty if you were kicked and that is totally unfair. 1-3min penalty would seem like enough time to stop those people that OP had and issue with. But any hidden stuff no. And for SE to add anything more than 3min timer to the person getting kicked would not be fair to a legit player who has done no wrong.

As for what you did that is good, Cause there have been a few runs of titan I've gone to and told them to kick me so no one would eat the timer. It just wasn't going to happen.

I just had a situation tonight where I accidently hit the accept button on the vote kick and booted someone from the party because the PLD didn't like the BRD pulling.....

They could implement a vote to give up the dungeon. Like a /concede or /surrender

I would love that as an option, which is why I am sort of curious if getting vote kicked on purpose to achieve the same goal would have some unintended consequence.

It is probably unintended, but I think they were discussing adding the abandon duty option in a future patch. I would hope that they would simply turn a blind eye to this so that people aren't hit with a 30 minute penalty for abandoning a duty until then!

i am thankful for this, as i HATE all the new dungeons and wish I had not unlocked them, now they're stuck in my roulette, I will often enter and if its one of the new ones ask to be kicked and most of the party agrees as it seems many others hate the new dungeons too.

Its a nice way to "give up" on a dungeon without penalizing anyone.

I do not like them at all, I don't find them fun. Was interesting first time but when im casually just trying to get the one time roulette I'd rather not do any of the new ones.

Wanted to add a couple of things here that I have noticed.

If a member has been Vote Dismissed and the party refills the ranks, leaving the party will result in the 30min lockout.

Since there is no lockout applied to the Dismissed player, they are free to re-queue for the same dungeon they were just in. If they apply the "In Progress" option, it is possible for them to rejoin the same party from which they were dismissed. Not likely to happen depending on the role, but I have first-hand experience seeing this happen.

Don't like them? Fine. But if you do the Roulette and get one, and the others want to do it, why should you get away without a penalty? You knowingly entered the roulette, knowing it could give you one of those. If you want to ditch, you ditch and eat the penalty.

The problem with the new dungeons is that the average iLvl requirements for them are too low. The number of times I get Pharos Sirius in roulette and we can't clear the first boss because the DPS can't put the adds down fast enough. Mind you PS is really badly tuned in the first place (that third 'boss')...

Haukke HM has the same issue, DPS can't handle adds on first boss. Copperbell HM I don't see the issue with though; it's not much harder than the original NM dungeon.

But yeah the new /surrender vote command being added in a few weeks will make life so much easier.

You know the adds on the first boss in Haukke Hard die in like 2 hits, right? Haukke is the easiest of the 3 new L50 dungeons. Sirius is much easier than people think it is, mostly because they get tanks and such that have no idea what they are doing.

This one needs quite a bit of gear too, the first boss is a DPS race and quite a strict one, it seems.

Careful, this would be an abuse of the kick system and will get your reported at some point.
