Latency still too high in PvP area

Frequently abilities can still be "in flight" and hit folks around corners. I've personally seen a BLM cast sleep on a BRD who is 3-5 steps around the corner on the opposite side of a wall as a BLM, and have that sleep hit. Presumably he started the sleep cast before the BRD was around the corner. This is just kind of silly. It's even sillier because I've also seen a SCH run around a corner, start casting Adloquium, and have their cast be interrupted by a BRD's Heavy Shot... when that BRD is on the opposite side of the wall.

yes, some players are runnign around with 200-400 ping... you just dont notice because the global cooldown is huge and skills are being queued.... i know im probably around 150-300 ms myself... and my connection is quite good never had issues playing mmo's before ... ppl in NA probably dont notice much of it since they at least live in the same landmass, id say its worst for us europeans...

Latency is horrible. There is no excuse in modern MMO gaming to have the above pic happen on a regular basis. I am constantly being Holmganged and Tomahawk'ed through the freaking wall. What is the purpose of having obstacles if the latency is so bad that they are rendered completely useless in tactics? Even more egregious is that LOS is the only safe haven that we casters have to get a single spell off. If we can't rely on that then there's no point in even playing PVP in this game.

Average ping is around 50ms for the record.

we improved server responsiveness, they said... like it matters much when their network code is crap and half the player base is playing from the other side of the ocean, because they were to greedy to setup separate servers for Europe and NA... this will never be fixed, unless they suddenly take the right approach and make new servers and split the population in half accordingly to which side of the world they are playing in.. since i dont see SE making the right move ever... all you can do has a player is either quit or get a tunneling software like Wtfast and pay for it yourself on top of the subscription you currently pay to play and even so i doubt youll be 100% fine.

You all have horrible ISPs. I experience none of these issues.

I can ping servers and get ~30ms average.
If you wanna call that horrible, that's cute.

Even with latency that low there's still a lot of easily noticeable latency in the game, especially in PvP.

To the dude with the holmgang picture, dont use it near pillars, the same shit happened in wow, I've seen warriors charge around LOS a million times.

This last update/patch post pvp also added in another slew of issues such as rampant 90k and DF errors but i can understand their reluctance to add servers to our countries due to stuff like the Pat-Riot acts and other laws so other companies can see what ever they want through law. I'm not taking this to a whole new level, but i can understand... but then again i can play Vindictus without any lag so SE still doesn't get a pass.

That's wrong, because those problems do not occur because of bad connection, you have horrible perception.

No. There's not as high of a forced ping in PVP as there is PVE. Lag is notebly less and aside from bunny hopping (which is being improved), not that big of a deal. If someone's going around a corner I can still hit them if they're in my view, I don't get halfway through the animation and find out I can't like in PVE.

(forced) Latency is pretty small in PVP and if you're still having latency issues, it's a result of you connecting with the servers, not the server ping themselves. You could blame it on their netcode or the fact that you playing from a different country is hurting your ping or something, but the 'forced' ping isn't your issue.

Let's say SE put a server in your country. And you tried join a duty that required four players. Do you think that you would connect to the server located in your country if the other three players are located an ocean away? That would leave the majority of the players with a large amount of latency. And that would be bad for you too.

People have no way of knowing the server delay with the server right during gameplay. And without that, people have no way of showing that they have a latency issue. Perhaps SE should display this in some form. But as of now they aren't. And so I take these lag complaints with a grain of salt.

Server response time is a major restriction on high level play. The list of problems it causes is too long to post...
