Please Raise the Drop Rate of the Bluebird

My friends and I have exhausted our patience with this item.

This week, between the five of us, we have done 84 Peisteskin Treasure Hunts and seen zero Bluebirds. As you have no doubt established, we have spent a sizeable amount of gil on maps, as we ourselves can only gather one every 18 hours.

We have all gotten to the point where we are actually more upset at this than any other lack of drops in this game. Even the Coil's blatantly biased drop system doesn't bother us as much as this.

A vanity, novelty, cute item should not have this ridiculous low drop rate. On discussion with somebody else, they too are 0/50ish.

That's just too low! Please, adjust this so people can enjoy these minions.

Exclusivity is good in a game, in my opinion. What if you spent all that gil on maps, then they listened to you and raised the drop rate to 1 out of 3 Piesteskin Maps contain a minion? Not only would every person in the world have one, but they wouldn't sell for more than 5k-10k on the MB.

I understand some people are collectors, and also I'm overexaggerating what the outcome could be (or am I?), but when you're one of only a few in the world with a specific item, doesn't that mean something? If not, why not cherish your Mammet minion bought back in Gridania at level 1?

Twelve forbid if something doesn't get handed over on a silver platter to everyone. This game has next to nothing that's exclusive and as soon as you add something that is, people cry and cry.

Rare items should not be rare indeed... oh wait...

I understand your point but the bottom line is Treasure Hunting is casual content. Let's assume somebody gathers a map a day; it could be months before they get a Bluebird. Even if you get your map every 18 hours you would have a higher chance of getting your items from the Coil than you would of getting a Bluebird.

That just seems wrong, in my opinion. I know I am biased from my personal attempts in getting one, but a novelty item from casual content being harder to get than the top end gear from the top end dungeons seems like poor design.

Please keep it rare, I wanna sell it to fund my FC house!

I thought the bluebird was in the boarskin maps?

Treasure hunt is a casual activity. How exactly does having one or two rare minions not make it casual? Is it suddenly "hardcore" because you can't get something within one month of release? If anything, it's evidence that endgame equipment is poor design.

Having the rare minions in the hunts gives me something to look forward to when I do them. Without them, treasure hunts just become another meaningless gil/furniture-mat grind, just like almost everything else in the game.

The way I see it, you're only upset because Bluebird is actually a desirable pet. Imagine if it was something like Pudgy Puk (or something equally ... unimpressive, yet new) instead - no one would be crying over it.

I got my Bluebird on my 3rd Peisteskin Treasure Hunt. I didn't even know how rare it was until I did a search on the Market Boards and then I looked around the internet. Don't change a thing.

Casual does not imply easy. Please correct your misconception. I casually play the lottery every once in a while, but that doesn't mean that I expect to win the Mega Millions.

It's been awhile since I posted this but I linked someone to it today. Current drop rate between me, a couple friends or farming for FC housing funds is 2/341.

84 maps? I've done over 700 maps since they started and we have yet to see a single bluebird. This is not even an exaggeration it's just probably the worst RNG on the universe. It's the same reason why since new coil we haven't seen a t7 healer chest in over 11 weeks.

My FC regularly gets a group of 5-8 people to run peisteskin maps, and have been doing so since they came out. A conservative estimate would be 200 maps (probably much higher), and I've seen a total of one Bluebird.

So if the drop rate is less than 1%, they should at least raise it to 1%. Or even, *GASP* , 2%!

I did, it still doesn't change the fact that I haven't seen in a bluebird drop for any of us in about 3-4 months of doing weekly maps with 5 people. :(

Well, you quoted my number of maps. I've since done many more, and considering the Bluebird was two weeks old when I made that post, that shows you how hard I went at trying to get one. ;) I'm sorry you have not got one. It's terrible. The drop rate really should be raised!

If you guys truly buy peisteskin maps and don't get bluebird that means:
1) you got gil
2) it cost less to buy bluebird

Also the reasoning of "why put something hard to get into casual content" is useless - not having bluebird doesn't affect in any way your chances to progress further on endgame content. Bluebird is just a nice item you can accidentally get and then decide whenever you want to get some gil or use the minion for bragging.

I got one doing peisteskin maps with my FC a couple of months ago. The way we handle our drops is that whomever opens the map gets all of the rollable loot items. Given that at the time the bird was worth ~2m gil, I sold it to help fund our FC house. I guess I must've been exceedingly lucky to get it. I haven't seen another one since.

As an aside, due to the unhidden maps, peisteskin maps doubled in price on my server. x_x

Friends and FC and myself have been doing maps since they came out. We saw 2 minion drops in half a year... now like last week... we had 4 or 5 of them drop in 2-3 days... so 3 of us got the blubird and 1 got the bulb.
