Horrible lag since implementation of Data Centers

Since 2.1 launched and Data Centers were implemented, I've been consistently getting horrible lag every night in the game. It takes a good 2-3 minutes for me to load into a zone, once I do, I start hitting hitting invisible walls every so often and can't move or see anything on the screen.

I didn't have this problem in 2.0 and it's really making the game frustrating and near unplayable for me.

Is there info on this, how to fix it or news about SE looking into this?

did you ever open your ports?

Any lag I had before this patch is gone, so I don't think it has anything to do with the datacenter restructuring.

I didn't have lag before the implementation, and I don't have lag after. I built my computer specifically for this game and it works flawlessly, so every time I hear about a problem such as this, I can only think it must be local to one's machine and/or related to one's ISP. *shrugs*

Whatever it is, it isn't the servers or the datacenters.

The data centres always existed.

You've always been paired with these servers (for instances too).

The current segmentation was just to decrease log-in data requests. Instead of having everyone send a data request for EVERY single server it only requests data from the ones on the data centre you're in.

NOTHING has changed for the actual data centre you're on, this seems to be a personal issue with either your own hardware or ISP.

The lucky people. I don't lag but instead I disconnect... A lot, with the rare 2002 error. And before you say it's my ISP I checked and is not. I ran cmd and I average 62 ping with no packets lost so I'm pretty sure its SE's servers.

Just because it's not worse for you doesn't mean it's not worse for people on other servers. I've noticed a big degradation in performance on Tonberry, connection chunking in dungeons, got a random 90k just standing around last night. All is not well on Tonberry.

AGAIN. Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean people on other worlds aren't experiencing it. It's noticeably worse on Tonberry after the patch.

Maybe it's got a lot to do with the influx of players coming back, but honestly, by now the servers should be handling the load that gets thrown at them. It's pretty obvious they're falling short on a number of worlds.

My ports are forwarded and minus the first week after launch, I never had lag problems in 2.0. This is something that just started AFTER 2.1 was launched, so unless something changed on my system after the update...

I've had significantly less lag since the patch. The hours of 7pm - 11pm were almost unbearable in dungeons pre patch. Haven't had any of that lag since.

Myself and two others in my raid party have these lag issues and we're all in California. It seemed fine immediately after the update and just a day or two ago this started.

I have also been getting a lot of lag since 2.1' in good king moogle mog when the hammer was used everything went in slow motion. In pharos Sirius we had a wipe I raised at hp and was alive but still laying in the water I could walk but my body was still in KO layout. I used the shortcut and when I zoned still on the ground, zoned to the level and the same. Once I cast something I stood up again. I never had any of this before 2.1.

Does the thing happen every time in Moogle Mog? I have a similar issue where when teleporting I would get a drop in frames and it would be slow mo/choppy. Only happens rarely though. I believe said issue is more attributed to a hiccup either client side & or Hardware.

It's been happening frequently in different dungeons not just moogles. Oh and the random freezing which also never happened pre 2.1.

Sometimes I get stuck in the standing position now, until I cast, then puts me right back in the standing and taking my weapon out does nothing :/ Never had that problem before or any lag problem and the huge amount of lag spikes all this week make it kind of hard to try out new content or do anything.

I went to to help out on Titan HM for a friend, I never get hit, until now. Sitting there blasting away at him, then out of no where he's got an insta-cast landslide on me lol A few days after 2.1 I got really bad frame rate lag, now it's just plain lag, 5-10 sec delays on everything.

Just today I've had really bad frame rate loss (never happened to me before). My GPU hit's 0% load and the game gets choppy then freezes. It first happened outside Revenants Toll and continued even after teleporting. I had to exit game and relog which seemed to fix it. But it was a pain when it did it. Hopefully it was a one time thing... time will tell.
