Materia and Vanya HQ

Hey guys, I just got my Vanya Robe of Healing HQ and am looking at which materia to deck it out with. I've seen a lot of others adding Savage Aim, but I'm wondering if there's a "right" way to buff it up or if it's really more player preference?

As a SCH go for Crit (caps @ 27)

Use grade IV materia, it is cheaper than grade III atm because the market is overflooded with them from the Crystal Tower's unlock reward.

Each grade IV gives +9 crit, get 3 and you should be golden.

I'm WHM, so should I also aim for Crit or would it make sense to go for another stat?

Ah, sorry, if that is the case you can pretty much ignore crit as it might give you over-heal most often.

I forgot which stat that gives you increase heal, MIND I believe, and Piety is also good for WHM as well since you guys are not as mana efficient as SCH. Depends on which you think is lacking, heal amount or MP, then decide which to go for.

I was sort of leaning toward MND and PIE but I wanted to see if there's any consensus on materia choice for WHM, so thank you very much for your input.

You can't put any MIND on an HQ Vanya robe of healing. It's already capped on that stat, go for Savage Aim IV x3 and the rest Piety.

Firstly; wouldn't Determination or speed be better than savage aim for WHM? Secondly; is Vanya better than DL?

On your first point: Yes it would be better, but i he did not state if he was SCH or WHM on his initial post.
On your second point: Yes HQ Vanya is better than DL, especially for SCH.

I'm in full DL and am getting sick of looking at it! Plus you can't remove the damned hood -_-... I am currently saving up for my WHM af2 robe but I want a HQ Vanya hat to go along with it instead of my strategos helm (vanity reasons mostly). If I get the hat what should I put into it materia-wise as a WHM? I want to be able to show off my awesome Snowe doo :P ! I'm aiming towards DET but I am torn between DET/SPD atm... Maybe Piety would be good too? So many freak'n choice!!! ARGH!

Vanya HQ without materia is as good as DL....

And those 20 crit you get from materia doesnt make it overgood... still its player preferences

I'm not a whm main but with wvr/to many tomes I am aiming for. DET(higher cure)>SS(Cast speed+Recast)>Pie(Mana).
