Can I have a lockout reset for 5$/week?
Although this would set a terrible precedent for charging for gameplay elements, I'd totally pay for another retainer.
Its a slippery slope, we start with selling retainers and rerun tokens for raid lockouts, next thing you know there is an in game cash shop and we gotta pay extra for nearly everything. I'd love the extra retainer, and to be able to buy Fantasia potion's.
I just worry SE will lose perspective then we are all playing a P2W game. If they do release certain items for sale I hope it doesn't lead to that.
Yeah, pay for more things in a game that's already pay to play. Good idea.
Let's pay for retainers, then pay for fantasias, then pay for more inventory space, then pay for lockout resets, then pay for bigger philo/myth limits, then pay for faster mounts, then pay for ...
You see this garbage in F2P games, not P2P. Let's keep it that way. Server transfer is the only service I can somewhat understand having a cost for because it involves moving data around. The rest, no.
While we're at it, can I just buy my FC house for $300?
Seriously though, I dislike the idea of selling things that give you an advantage in game for actual money. Vanity items in a cash shop? Yes please. Anything that makes the game easier? No thanks.
Can i pay extra $$$ for "premium account membership" like other F2P P2W MMOs where i can get 2-3x myth cap, no loot lockout and no coil lockout pls?
This is the kind of stuff you don't do on a subscription based game. If it were free to play, maybe. But otherwise, no. Just no.
lots of MMOs that are P2P have been picking up the micro transaction formula. just look at WoW they just implemented it. now im not saying its gonna happen with EVERY MMO but if it was an option and not an in game cash shop. say like with Character transfers.. ( where you have to go to the site and purchase it ) i might find it ok. as long as im not getting ads to go to the shop every 3 minutes. but i would like more quests and such where i could possibly unlock another retainer. and get more bag space.. ( IE gobbie bag quest where you unlock maybe an additional row of slots for each bag.) anywho TY for reading
I love how even talking about SE adding stuff via a "cash shop", people absolutely lose their minds.
You know, it's completely possible for a company to add things like name/race changes, pets, mounts, etc to a game that you need to pay $$$ for, without it turning the game into some pay to win MMO.
They even did this in FFXI, where buying items IRL gave in game inventory space, yet nobody blinked an eye at that.
I don't even like that they have out-of-game purchases that reward in-game items. The second they add a proper 'cash-shop', I'm out.
People act as though if it's not 'P2W', you have to be OK with it; I'm not.
That's one of the major draws this game has over others out there and one of the main reasons I will never touch WoW beyond my starter account.
Actually in 1.0 it was originally planned to sell retainers to discourage muling. It was only going to cost like $1 a month.
While I'm not a huge fan of it either, why would you quit over vanity items that have no functional use that you don't really need?Quote:

Exactly what Alhanelem said.
Originally each additional retainer you hired would add $1 more to your monthly subscription, which is sort of a holdout from FFXI where they charge you $1 for each extra character you create or having a premium e-mail account through PlayOnline.
at 20 dollars a large house I'm sure a lot of players will pay!
Incorrect. At least on my part.
I simply believe that everyone that buys the game should have access to everything in the game by playing the game. Even if I happened to get everything for free, if other people didn't have access to it, it would kill any appeal.
And (though this game really has nothing worth collecting in the first place), it can kill the entire concept of collecting for me since you can't get everything without buying these extras, yet they don't really register as being worth adding to a collection in my eyes.
Ultimately, I'm honestly opposed to anything exlusionary like cash shop items, as I feel that buying the game (and subbing in the case of a subscription game) should give you access to 100% of the game.
I don't like time-limited exclusives (seasonal stuff is OK since you can just come back next year). I don't like out-of-game bonuses, but I've begrudgingly accepted them since no company at this point is going to do any less than that it seems.
Cash shops are the pinnacle of embracing this sort of content and making it the norm though. And that, I won't abide.
If anything went for sale that wasn't strictly for appearance, I would cancel my subscription immediately.
No, just no. As Dark Saviour said, I paid the game, I pay my monthly sub and I expect that I can access the whole game without having to drop extra cash for this or that. I don't care if you don't mind it if it's just for cosmetic things. For some of us cosmetic things are precisely as important to our enjoyment as PvE or PvP content, and they're part of the game.
Server transfers and name changes? I'm all for it if they put them in the Mog Station, as they involve changes outside of the game (even if they aren't hard to do with an automated system). But in-game content of any kind? If it's already in the game I shouldn't have to pay extra to unlock it. That belongs to F2P games, not to P2P, and we shouldn't accept that some companies like to include these things in their P2P games.
