[To the Dev Team] Please revert to the previous limit break system in Duty Finder.

I just joined my first Crystal tower raid through duty finder.
I had a premade party of Scholar, Warrior and Monk.
It puts me into a team with 3 bards, a Paladin and another scholar.
Due to this, we barely managed to even reach 1 bar of limit break (we had 1 full bar and about 15% of the 2nd bar) by the end of the run.

This is unacceptable. I did not premake a party with 3 bards and 2 scholars.
Duty finder put me in this way and this is not fair to me or any of the other members of my party.


Please make the limit break rule NOT apply to duty finder created random parties.

The limit break change only applies to the 2nd and 3rd bars, not the first, so i'm gonna assume you're embellishing your story somewhat.

Even if he did embellish a lot, it still sucks.

Ridiculous change. Stop shoving variety down our throats when you design fights that discourages such variety.

I agree that duty finder should be exempt from the penalty simply because you have no choice in who you get matched with, nor does duty finder even attempt to find unique jobs. I think a compromise might be to lower overall LB generation from 2.0 slightly and then provide bonuses for premade parties without duplicate jobs.

Class stacking is never intended design. It's a player thing.
No MMO designers can really predict how players will figure out some stuff than trivializes certain mechanics. Even with all their testing.
Sometimes they let it go, sometimes they make adjustments.

The LB change just makes it a harder choice.
Fights don't discourage diversity in this game.

Putting class stacking aside how about if people you group with like the same class? Now they have to get a different class to 50? Honestly as a few MMOs have done every job type should have as many options as possible Tank/Healer/Dps and you should be able to bring whatever you like playing....

Like people have said the limit change only effects the 2nd and 3rd bars.

First of all: If LB make it or break it in CT you are doing something wrong. Only boss it really matters on is King Behemoth where good LB can prevent the third meteor from landing making up incase the DPS screwed up with killing the mobs. Otherwise most of the bosses eighter have to low HP for it to matter or are simple tank and spank bosses. Yes, I include the bomb boss aswell in that one. Sure, LB can cover up if one group is made of full BRDs and the other is a mix of SMNs and MNKs who are both blind and deaf when people tell them to attack the other bosses when they have like 20% damage left and theirs are on the brink of dying.

Second: This change is not bad at all. It encourages all classes to see play. It might suck in DF, but it is nothing that make or break any Duty Finder available fight.

The penalty for having multiple of the same class shouldn't exist at all.

I remember a time i have done ifrit with DF.

I come with my warrior, and i meet another warrior (will not be easy for the stun), two white mage, and 4 bard.

And when the nail pop, we wipe because the only lb we can launch is heal and the tank one aren't enough.

We all die and the bard say, why the meteor didn't show up ? The guys didn't know that was a limitbreak, he was thinking that happen everytime. When i tell him, he left, so i did :p

I whole heartily agree.

It is one thing if I create a group with 4 BLMs sure you can penalize me for that, but when YOU gave me 4 BLM's how was that my fault and why should I be penalized. Like most things in this game Feature A totally forgets or ignores Feature B. Take for example your armoire, when you create a new item and insert it into the DB etc you can add the flags for armoire storable at that time. In fact one could even argue not doing so upfront and having to go back and do it costs extra time and money from a development side detracting from what people should be working on however why do we always have to beg and plead to get items updated AFTER every holiday event? Why, Because again A ignores B and B ignores A.

I wonder if people there just really hate each other and refuse to talk to the person sitting next to them, its the only reason I can think of why there is so much disconnect between A and B in this game. Where the LB change is a good idea on paper to help with premade prejudice which might occur the fact they totally forgot to update the DF algorithm to not stack multiple classes in your group or disable this 'penalty' when using the DF is just another example of "oversight" on their part.

They could leave it as is but I think it should be universally apply to 3 or more of the same job instead of 2+.......with the current setup requiring you to have one of every tank type and healer type, as well as all but one type DPS in the entire game this is really a unnecessary "feature" given the low # of jobs to choose from with the party size being so large. It's not reasonable to apply a penalty like this with so few jobs to choose from.

Would be nice if the Party LB change only affected your Party, not the Alliance.

Going by the OP, yes. (A party is 4, so listed group of 3 + 5 more is alliance)

Lol the bosses in CT reset your limit break like primals, this is not because of low buildup.
