"Great"axes... not so great

Why are they all so tiny? The only ones that are a decent size are the Titan axe and Rampager, both of which I freakin love. I also love that the Titan weapon has become a viable alternative to relic since its ilvl upgrade.

Unless you are the offspring of Cloud or Sephiroth your weapons will be practical sized.

Where's the fun in that? This is Final Fantasy, not a real life simulator. I'm not asking for anything stupid huge, just the same or similar to Titan weapon or even Rampager.

Garudas Scream is pretty big...

Hunks of steel are heavy, and even in fantasy there's only so much you can lift before it just looks too comical to be considered, personally. I mean, just looking at Bravura if it was made of steel, that would have to be at least 40 pounds of metal you're swinging like a candy cane.

Judging just from the trailer since I haven't seen it in game yet, the EX Axe looks p. big. Rampager, Garuda's Scream, and Titan's Axe are all big. Allagan Battleaxe is also p. big.

All the axes look big on my tiny lalafell body tho. \o/

You seem to be forgetting this is a game where a lalafell can run up to Ifrit in a tiny suit of plate and take blows like its nothing. If you wanna be realistic about everything, then only Roe males should be allowed to be tank classes, and they should be able to wield much bigger, heavier weapons. But silly limitations like that are freakin lame. This is a video game.

Why stop there?

Well, Nero Tol Scaeva *does* use a gunhammer, which is supposed to be the gun-axe equivalent, and that's just a metal rocket with a stick coming out of the side. It'd be pretty cool to be able to use that.

Let's just settle this whole argument. Let's just agree the only axe that should ever exist ingame is a 3 foot long branch with a birds nest on the end.

It would! The Garleans really do have way cooler toys than us.

I would be worried about online epeen. Everyone would be wanting larger weapons to the point of ridiculousness.

I really don't mind the axes in game that much. My biggest complaints are the Allagan Axe, it looks ridiculous, and I'd like to see more double sided axes. They don't have to be enormous and huge...

Personally I'm a huge fan of the Ifrit Axe in terms of the appearance. If Bravura was double sided I would like it a lot better. Two primals to go until I get to have an opinion on Hakken...
