Sleep makes PvP suck

I started playing in PvP today and was really enjoying myself (win or lose)

However, I then played in a match against a Black Mage... good game.
The game started with us running out of the gate and before I could even target I was asleep, a few seconds later the other DPS was also sleeping, then the tank seconds later, after that the whole team gathered round a now sleeping healer before absolutely destroying the poor sod, then I woke up to get put to sleep again in about 2 seconds flat, then they killed the tank, then the other DPS then me, about 30 seconds, good game, bye.

All I can hope is that either they nerf the hell out of sleep or I just dont see many Black Mages in my PvP matches (lucky break)

anyone else have this problem at all?

Time to start stacking sleep resist materia!

i think sleep needs a cd adjustment

Time to rank up to 3 and get Purify skill!

Sleep needs a heavier resist rate in pvp to be honest, materia or not.

Sleep first time : full duration
Second time : 5 seconds
Third time : Immune

Immunity cooldown : 60 seconds.

The fact that Purify is required just means Sleep is overpowered.

Sleep does seem overpowered compared to the other methods of Crowd control (stun, bind). A 30sec crowd control ability with only the limitations of the gcd to stop it? Even shadow bind has to deal with a timer....

Next you'll have to buy points to get all range attacks for melee classes so your animations can finish woohoo!

I think you have the wrong game, its WOW where you can act like your better than anyone who hasn't played for as long. seriously though, why waste your time trolling when you could be doing something more constructive.

as for the other comments, I do understand I need to get sleep resist materia, however this takes a lot of time spent getting blitzed by sleep over and over before standing any sort of a chance at PvP, in other words a lot of time spent to get round a single skill that's so easy to use (and then hopeing the rest of the party have done the same or its gg still). personaly I think that for fairness of play (regardless of noob or not) sleep should both have less chance of success and a shorter duration in PvP.

The only sleep that should be going off is the one the blm swift cast sleep on. Just make sure you are spread out and keep someone range on the blm at all times. They can't cast if they are getting hit. If you do not have range then get a melee to rush the blm. Nerfing sleep for the sake of pvp won't just affect it there. The way they nerf things it will be problem in pve as well.

BLM takes priority over anything else anyway if you are a DPS, take them out! Purify the first sleep.

Speaking of Purify...max rank Purify should give you immunity to CC for 5ish seconds (see Break Free in Rift).
