PvP insanely imbalanced (Dragoon Perspective)

There seems to be a massive imbalance in the release state of PvP (as we all could have guessed)

Firstly, out of the last 25 battles I've played I've gotten 18 bards, 4 dragoons, and 3 black mages as the other DPS, this wouldn't be a problem in PvE but, the synch between bards and dragoons in PvP is absolutely terrible. I'm not sure how many more people are experiencing this issue, but its awful.

Secondly, the abuse of sleep and sprint. I'm aware that the severity of these will decrease as my rank increases, but right now I'm at a really bad crossroad of 'take purify so you only have to sit in 30 seconds of sleep total instead of a minute' or 'take weapon throw so they can sprint spam again in 20 seconds' And even worse, My slow seems to have no real effect in any situation, it is still only barely powerful enough for me to keep up with a target, and not even if they're sprinting.

Battle rezzing every minute or so with swiftcast when you spent 2 minutes chasing down those people already. Absurd. White Mages seem to especially be abusing this with their Benediction/Swiftcast Rez its near impossible to kill one before they completely turn the match.

Also, more than Half of my stuns simply get straight resisted, when they only last seconds, and have a 20s cooldown whereas Repose and Sleepbombs are recastable endlessly with fairly weak DR's. (atleast until max DR)

These aren't even all the points I've noticed, just the most severe problems I've encountered. Are there any other issues anyone else is having? So far PvP has been pretty anti-fun for me because I can't seem to get into a match without a bard and they seem to be extremely weak, combining with seemingly effortless kiting of melee classes, its just not a very powerful combo.

I dont get what your saying.....Are you saying Bards are weak or overpowered in pvp?

From this thread i get that your just really bad at pvp. I have had quite a few dragoons that no matter what i did i could not get them off of me. Learn your class and fully ulitze your skills at right time you won't be having so many issues. Also your issue with battle rez bene is not that bad. First there's like a 5 second time where they can't cast anything on the rezz'ed player so take that time to blow up the healer or someone learn to apply pressure

Only tips I can give you is PVP gear is very useful. Keep your relic weapon and get the crafted set, start swapping for I70 pvp gear when you get the chance and find a group of three friends you can pvp with and get better together Healers should keep their pve gear till they can afford i70 and then start swapping

The communication is really important xD Me and my BLM friend have almost 200 matches under our belts Fighting just about ever kind of "OP" make up people have talked about. Double SMN double w/e etc
We had a 51 winstreak yesterday but then we got into a match with a DRG and MNK, mother of god. Almost a 15min long pvp match it was bloody epic, ended up losing to limit break (first one on blm) second one on our healer and it was GG. If we were facerolling everyone then all of a sudden lose to a team who knew EXACTLY what they needed to do then theirs more player skill and communication involved then most people think, don't get me wrong somethings could be tweaked but nothing is broken if you know what to do, you can win.

(And I'm still going to get attacked -___- be nice when replying folks </3)

There's nothing broken, because as a bard I don't get paired with a dragoon 75% of the time. RNG is random and all that.

Tired of RNG PvP pairings? Form your own group.

Duty finder groups can be frustrating, but DRG/BRD is good. After I hit rank 30 on MNK, I am switching to WAR and playing WAR/DRG/BRD/SCH.

once you go MNK you won't go back :P

Weak combination? Must be why my friends have brd and drg team with near 100 wins and 10 losses.

If players sprinting and kiting you is an issue, then you need to work more closely with your tank(and the rest of your team) to keep a player locked down while you burst.

Also it sounds like you're expecting Feint to actually slow their movement speed.
The effect you need for that is Heavy.
Slow only affects their global cooldown and auto attack delay.

This. Some of the most succesful/ smooth PvP matches I've had have been with a dragoon in the party, me being paladin. If you work with your tank you can burst down the healer fairly quickly. Its harder sometimes if the healer is very good at kiting and such but thats the nature of the game. Sometimes you're opponent is highly skilled other times not. Just work on your strategy based on your team composition. Bards are nice because they can also focus the healer, rotate stuns and silences between the 3 of you on the healer or blm or whoever and they're toast.

lol @ the kids calling him bad at pvp... since when did an MMO developer ever get new content right on launch. If you think that pvp in this game is balanced or perfect, then you have absolutely lost your mind. It's fun, but not even remotely balanced. As was expected for launch pvp.

BRD / DRG is one of the top tier comps atm. SMN / DRG is also slightly better, as it performs similar to WLD from WoW

BRD/DRG Comp i'm guessing is really good at Burst? I've only ran with mnk/drg so far, which has worked fine up until now at least.

It plays like War / Hunter KFC from WoW. It has excellent burst that can completely destroy a healer of either class on top of a silence window. Out of the comps I've ran, it's the 2nd strongest, first being SMN / DRG which operates like WLD. The room for error with DRG / BRD is less than SMN / DRG but the kill power is very high.

I definitely have to try that out then. When I started running Drg in PVP, nothing made me smile more, than realizing that I can hit clothies with 1.2k Full Thrusts that tear them in half.

High mobility, fast attacks, and bind give BRD above average map control, and the triple execute skills + silence gives DRG/BRD a pretty scary wombo combo. If the bard is good, games will feel easy.

idk i do think pvp is unbalanced idk about the Dragoons but there are a few class like the summoner seem a bit op the fact i seen them hit for 1k to 800 regularly and there a dot class.... makes no sence. the run skill i think should be a separate bar kinda give melee a big disadvantage the fact we use tp for dps to and i feel sleep and bind last way to long should be 1/2 the time for pvp

Good thing about our class is that we have versatility with multiple comps and synergize very well with ranged.

And popping Feint on casters to give them slow on their cast times ftw.
