What do you dislike about the FFXIV?

All the people on this forum are playing or interested in playing FFXIV, so it makes perfect sense to ask what you dislike on FFXIV.

I dislike....
No seeking for group flag
Market Wards are not connected
Leves can be not picked at camp only available on guild desk
SP on grinding party SUX
No chocobos or airships
Why crafters carry the repair mats for DOW/DOM?
Why can't we have 25 lines on macro, more then 4 trading slots, or more than 10 slots to sell items?

I open this thread to inform SE what most players dislike. SE should listen if they really care about the customers.

Please feel free to add in your comments.

No reason to explore other areas other than the one your hometown is in. I'm tired of the desert everyday.

No offense, but I'm fairly sure SE is well aware of what people do not like. Nearly every post is about something people don't like, all they have to do is read the titles and they'd get the general message.

I could right a book about the things I don't like about FFXIV, but can only think of a few things that I do like. The latter would have been the better question, which was covered in another thread already. It got buried quickly, take a guess why.

Lack of new content. Fighting the same 5 nms is getting old.

Shitty PC optimisation, world is too static, game comprises of massive grindfests with short story quests in between which is mainly characters doing emotes followed by text, lack of things to do other than grind, crafting is boring - I even stopped macroing with my keyboard because it's just that boring, music is a bit disappointing knowing that it's from Nobuo, classes are badly outlined, enmity system is broken, repetitive battle animations, gladiators getting weapons that look unappealing under rank 30, macros needed to change classes/skills, game gives little motivation to keep playing, no post-character appearance modifying because my character looks worse than expected after character creation, market wards instead of auction house, UI is consolised - no drag and drop, selling items and transferring items to retainers takes ages, repetitive landscapes, game story converges in Ul'dah at R20, player population centered in Ul'dah, leves always at same location, lack of variety in leves, 8 battle/crafting leve limit, stat allocation makes little to no difference, lack of mob variety, UI elements are too large (I play on 1440x900), large rank gaps destroys SP - I can't play with people of lower rank - macros needed to change items/skills for class change discourages largely.

Those are just things I listed off the top of my head.

Off topic, I bought the CE and got a cheap cup I can't even drink out of.

My thoughts exactly.

This answer is simple, Lack of Content.

Sorry to be frank, I dislike Yoshi-P for spending too much time to write poems and to make empty promises.

I dislike that they seem to be making design decisions based on player polls and the vocal minority that inhabits the forums.

Reused races.

Really it would probably be shorter to list what i like about this game. And of the like list it would most be the potential that the game has that probably won't ever be reached.

The world is dead, The combat is boring, the crafting is tedious, the market wards are a cluster, the zones are lame, the lack of danger, the lack of excitement, still a crappy UI, bastardized character development, lack of good spell/attack animations, guild leves that are pretty much the same thing over and over, gear selection sucks and you can wear whatever, changing a weapon suddenly makes you a different person, agro icons, teleporting to places you haven't been before, already having maps, no sort of faster travel (chocobo/airship), no party system and no reason to party, no feeling of ownership of character, no person storage, no delivery system, trade system is slow and 4 things at a time, repairing gear is a pain and tedious and the npc half asses it, pointless side quests, too many camps, small world (despite the zones are huge it feels like there are 3 ffxi zones)... etc... etc..

Really i guess thats why i've gone from hopeful to laughing about this game. With so much wrong, so much sucking... and how little has actually been changed in nearly a year... its almost pointless. I read the forums just to get the giggles anymore. People defending this game, or even loving it as it circles the drain. These forums are actually getting to the point of being counter productive as the only people left love the game. And even if they make improvements those people want... its not going to bring the masses back.

Its sad, i had such high hopes. Watching all of the making of the realm vidoes, i could hardly wait. Finally got into the open beta, and never expected the release to be the same game as the beta. Still can't believe i paid for the collectors edition, guess it goes to show that just because a company has made decent games in the past, that they aren't immune from creating a steaming pile.

The fact that is isn't more like what could have been FFXI-2...

Additions made could have been made to a FFXI-content system, redesign a few things, keep whatever was working well, and use the beautiful graphics to show off the true potential of FFXI's content since the PS2 was holding back any further graphical advancements.... with that gone, the potential is unlimited


If it aint broke why fix it.... FFXI was successful and awesome, why not build upon it instead of trying to revolutionize a new pseudo-FFXI, and mess it all up with completely new content for everything.

I dislike no progression from zone to zone and lack of any real incentive to explore which includes how lame the maps looks and how huge they are.

I dislike the community. Seriously, over half of you people should have never started playing MMOs...

You got to know that when you have a sample of about 500 or 600 people, the results can be projected to everyone as a whole. So when 90% of the forum minority say they want something, most likely the overwhelming majority will agree. Not to say I like where the game is heading because of this but I don't even think they had a plan for the game to begin with and I don't think they're listening to us THAT much tbh.

I dislike the fact that it's missing jobs when the guilds are there. I wanted to be a gun user, musketeer. Not a lot of mmos (good ones) have guns in them, I thought FFXIV would when I first saw the benchmark. One of many disappointments...

you'll get your guns. Gunner classes have always been an advanced class/job aside from FFX-2. Also, a good MMO with guns is Atlantica. You can have a gunner and a cannonist.

I dislike the development team.

lack of basic MMO features (mount, jump, AH, mouse-over info, buy back, customizeable action bars, etc)

you can say that's WoWish or whatever but you have to admit it's a standard for MMO these days

Staying in one zone for 50 levels.
Copy pasted terrain
No mounts
Auction house
No dungeons
No raids
Alot of armor is copy pasted
Game world seems lifeless
Stats don't feel like they do anything
Doesn't feel like a final fantasy

^^^ i hate this the most.

It is people like you that slowly ruin a community behind the scenes by insulting people and telling them they should never play. These are all valid opinions and things that people were expecting out of this game. Dont like their opinions? oh well, the very large majority has these same opinions. And dont tell me the majority doesnt have these opinions, ask any review site, or the thousands that left the game after launch.

For the last time, the ability to jump is not standard for MMOs and is not needed by any means, especially not in this game. There is absolutely ZERO reason to have jump in FFXIV. ZIP, NONE, NOTTA. As far as the action bar...it is customizable...
