Player Commendation

Is everyone does Cancel ..
I do run that goes pretty well ..i click OK for everyone at the end ..but me i get nothing

why they put that. if we cant give commendation to friends we make party and party we end up being with totaly don't care about you

Can you commend all people?

You get to commend one person. Apparently if you queue as a group you aren't allowed to commend at all. At least that's what I was just told in a guildhest.

Yeah, as a tank, I did 3 duty roulettes and got 6 commendations. Tanks probably get the most commendations by default, then healers. Poor DPS get left behind.

i tenmd to give it top who was the most nicest one ^^ i have given it to DPs because the healers always ask for them i dont give them to ppl who ask may sound mean but y ask for em imo?

Got all 3 commendations from my first DF roulette :) Just talk to the people during the run and do well you're more likely to get the votes than if you stay silent.

I've gotten one commendation as a DPS. I've also only finished one dungeon today(damn you demon wall! Also, damn me and my crappy tank gear. oh well, with all the new ways to earn philosophy tomes I should be rolling darklight or finishing my armorer levels to craft some nice gear.)

You cannot give others commendations if you queued as a group, so it's possible that the people you've encountered have queued as a group and cannot give commendations out.

Not only that... but I've noticed that tanks tend to get a LOT of commendations if they don't mess up. I've been queuing with my tanking friend (as a healer) and he gets the majority of the commendations, even though I am doing my job just fine AND dpsing with decent gear. I think people appreciate a tank that really knows what he or she is doing because that means the run will be smooth. The player reputation system is supposed to encourage good sportsmanship, kindness, and education... but I feel it is interpreted more as an MVP system. (They actually changed the name from MVP because they didn't want it to be interpreted that way.)

I've been doing PVP all day and you can do a commendation at the end, but most people just skip it. People seem to prioritizing speed since DF hooks you up pretty quick. If those are the runs you mean, then don't take em too hard.

Got 0 thus far but I had a pretty er.. none talkative group to be honest. I tried to be friend and ask if anyone needed the fights explained and was more or less told to shut up >_> Guess there will always be assholes heh.

Before this commendation thing came out there have been so many DPS that I want to give commendations too. I just wish I could be able to group up with them again from DF ( T^T )

Tanks by far have the advantage here because people don't actually go through the list. They just hit the first person they see (which is always a tank).

Is it possible to do it for a failed run or for an incomplete party? We got a really helpful and patient tank walking us through a dungeon today and I'd have liked to vote for him but we timed-out at the last boss and people left.

I personally have given my commendations to dps who seemed to be on the ball. The tanks I've been paired with today have either demanded the commendations or been generally arrogant

Wait. Tanks have DEMANDED commendations? What on Earth makes them think people can be bullied into giving them something that is supposed to be given to nice, helpful people?

I've given 12 or so DF's fast runs with no errors and not one person has provided me with a commendation, despite friendly demeanor and thanks at the end. Fast as in under 13 minutes, lacking a blm to sleep or a smn to bind. :(

I think a lot of people are still stuck in the speed run mentality and dash for the exit once the dungeon is over, so you might get nothing if others in the party simply run off without leaving a commendation. I think once people catch on to the system they'll take more time to leave their votes (and/or receive them) before they run off.

In order to even receive a Commendation, you have to actually stay in the dungeon until people vote/leave (so wait for loot to distibute at least). You might just personally be leaving too fast...or others might be leaving without voting. Not everyone will vote, and not every party will vote for you. I found that out after luckily a person in my DF party happened to be on my server and was able to PM via search 'Hey I wanted to vote you up but you left too fast :/'

The window should pop instead of being a side-notification like Loot.

I'm all of giving them but I just forget that they're there.

Personally, my default vote is to Tank or Healer,
but any time a DPS does something to set themselves apart, i'd be happy to give them the vote.
Doing something really smart to win the fight, something heroic, or just being a group leader.

I think most groups (at least for the level 50s in the group for both the high level runs and lowbe runs) don't notice it in the corner where the loot box is because I've seen a ton of people not roll on loot in runs. >_<;

No real surprise that a lot of groups don't give anyone votes.. (the loot box bugs me to no end so i click it to make it go away >_> )

I play as dps and I'm surprised at how often people commend me. dps almost always has the easiest job.

This is true lol Ran a few of the new dungeons today with a tank friend, he got 3 commendations, I've yet to get one

The new commandment system is more annoying than anything.

Every time I join a dungeon they spend 5 minutes discussing who is going to commend who so they all get points. When they do that I don't commend anyone, period.

The point of the system is to commend who you feel deserves it the most. If I don't think highly of someone over everyone else in the run, I don't commend anyone. I don't reward average abilities. Now when I que for a run and someone is being helpful beyond the normal, I commend them.

E.G. I qued for Qarn today, having never done it before. There was a blm typing out all the mechanics in party chat, allowing us to 1 shot everything. So I commended him.

A lot of people are reporting that the Tanks/Healers get most of the commendations. I don't see this as a bad thing.

You want the nice, shiny magitek? Roll a Tank.

Pretty soon we won't be waiting forever on tanks for every DF group. That could in turn lead to a reduction in princess tanks who leave at the first wipe, much less incentive to drop if you're locked out for 30 minutes and won't get insta-party afterwards.

Who am I kidding? The general populace avoids tanking like the plague, you could offer them a free relic with every WP run and they still wouldn't take up tanking.

I've honestly found most ppl leave instantly and dont give anyone commendations. its a bit disappointing tbh

especially since i don't get the chance to give them to anyone

I got a bunch of commendations as a DPS dragoon 'and' a PVP dragoon. Just play good and treat other people like their human beings. Thats pretty much the only requirements needed.

You show up in your bright and shining level 50 armor, standing out among a group of folks in brown rags, and all the lowbies immediately notice your glimmering presence. This is likely their first experience with group content, so if you're a tank or healer, then you also have a spiffy blue/green class icon that they've probably never seen before, catching even more of their attention. You say hello, it's nice to meet you, and throw them a smile. Chances are that they're still new to the game, and yours is the first player communication that they've had directed at them, so they're super happy to be noticed. Then you wreck a couple of baddies while they're drooling dreamily at you, and you wish them good luck as you ride off into the sunset. Bam -- three commendations every five minutes.

It surely sounds shallow, but seriously. It works. Try it out.

I got one in pvp yesterday, but the problem I'm seeing is that I entered in with 3 friends and we DF for the last member of our group SO that person can send one of us a commendation, but none of us can send one for them, kinda a bummer. Even if it grayed out the names of my party members so we could just have the option to give a ♥ to the person we dutyfound~

I've got a commendation in PvP, and two from HM dungeons. Both when I was DPS... didn't get one on my healer since it was a total accident and I didn't even mean to be in the dungeon on my SCH but I felt bad about dropping out so just went with it... was terrible.
I always give one to people who I think did a good job, but I can imagine people will just click cancel and leave the dungeon ASAP without bothering.

Got 3 hearts today. I'm surprised I get anything with my latency.

Don't forget that commendations are for the nice ppl, not the best one in the run. I commend ppl who talk and have fun in the run!

I got to tank in my Lomiscan Officers suit, I was looking fly.

I always liked helping anyway I would had a lot if this was in sooner. This my favorite addition so far because now I get some Gil and tomes and recommendations.

In one of them people left too early though I couldn't give any out. I going to do one for the early birds before work.

I got a few commendations yesterday. I noticed that people that are new/lacked top tier gear, we're the ones that gave the most commendations.
