Map 18 hour timer?

Is there anyway to tell when your 18 hour timer is up so you can get a new map? It's not in the timers section.

I don't believe there is. I just made a note in my phone for an event that goes off in 18 hours to remind me that I can obtain another.

Does this timer only effect the Gatherer who obtained it or does it effect the person who uses the map too?
Just wondering ^_^

Also does the timer start when you gather a map or when you actually activate said map?

Pretty sure this only affects the gatherer, and the time starts when you gather the map.

In the Main Menu -> Duty -> Timers (bellow Duty Finder option).

I just set my android phone alarm on and label it "Map"

If I'm out somewhere I reset it to a time I think I'll be online next so I don't forget to do that first before anything.

This 18 hour RL timer *really* needs to be listed in game somewhere. And counting down, too.

Agreed. I created a thread about this in general discussion last week. The timers tab seriously needs to become useful. The tools are there....SE just needs to USE them.

My FC uses the Short Messages utility in the Members menu to makes notes to ourselves of our last harvested map/

The 18-hour timer is intended to allow folks to get one map per real life day while still allowing flexibility to gather a party to do the fight. If you plan a daily fight at roughly the same time each day, you will never even care about a timer. If you're gathering maps every 18 hours, you're not the audience SE was targeting for this event. I wouldn't hold your breath expecting a timer to be added.
