Secret Bard Nerf we weren't told about.

I'm highly upset with secret nerfs that didnt make the patch notes.

Bloodletter was dropped from 150 to 130 potency.
Straight Shot was dropped from 140 to 130 potency.

Considering the cross skill nerfs, shadowbind, and Rain of Death(which just became nearly useless) it looks like Bards took a super hard hit.

I'm tired of the Anti-Bard stuff going on, I get we were a little to strong in short (burst fights), but in Single and AOE stand still damage we were dead last. Now we are dead last even in moving fights. Our utility is songs? Then maybe we should get a song to raise damage instead of lowering it for ourselves. I'm talking about a better Foes Requiem, considering it only boost elemental damage(BLM/SMN benefit more than we do).

The only reason left I can think to bring a bard over another class is blunt arrow to silence things in coil. If silence is not needed then there is no reason to bring a bard over a BLM.

Why must bards sacrifice so much for other people?

I haven't been around to this "anti-Bard stuff" that is happening, so I'm sorry I don't fully understand what you're talking about. I'm still patching.

However, according to what people are saying in the forums, Bloodletter and Straight Shot aren't affected for some reason.

Quick test (10 non-crit shots on a dummy) indicates it is probably a tooltip error:

Heavy shot (150 pot): 208-226, average 216.5
Straight shot (was 140, now 130?): 193-212, average 202.3
Bloodletter (was 150, now 130?): 208-227, average 215.8

May just be a tooltip error. There's some ability that Dragoons recieved a buff on, according to the tooltip, I think it's Jump; but apparently people aren't parsing for any more damage with the ability.

I realize this isn't really related to the topic at hand, but it has a similar issue: the English tooltip is incorrect. It does not reduce an enemy's elemental resistance; it reduces their magic resistance.

To be fair you can't actually see your party's TP meters. Requiem with a blm/smn in a group is really nice though if you're not anticipating MP issues.

We can't see TP on party members. If we could, we'd be using the TP song more often. We can only see MP, and the only person where the MP really matters on is the WHM, because 1) most battles go fast enough to where the tanks either run out of MP at the battle's end, or about to, 2) every MP using class OTHER than the WHM has a constant source of MP regen, and 3) Flash, which is a tank's MP using aggro gain, isn't used in most boss fights. It doesn't help that the songs DROP our DPS by 20%, which is the only thing preventing us from keeping those on all the time. If the TP song or MP song didn't have that damage output reduction on us, you'd probably see us spamming the songs constantly. Other than those songs and the pre-patch RoD, we have no support for the party, AT ALL. If we could use healing spells or buffs on the party, you'd see more of it, but alas, this ain't 1.0 Bard.

Bam you just proved my point. I guess I'll just tank without Defiance or Shield Oath and be like "brah, my dps brah.." while everyone in the group is "/fc dude this tank doesn't know how to do his job and is only interested in dps. What a jerk!"

That's what everyone says about bards. Well enjoy your f***ing nerf you might as well make yourselves useful since you aren't going to be of any use dps wise. #BardSucks

English tooltip for Foe Requiem is wrong. The Japanese tooltip is correct, and that it decreases magic resistances by 10%. This effects all magic spells not specifically elemental damage.

Yes, we'll drop the DPS by 20% constantly in a 4 man run because the other DPS has enough power to pick up our slack and keep the run progressing fast. *rolls eyes* In a 8-man dungeon, yes, that song should be going because you have 3 other DPS which can easily pick up the slack. But when there's just 1 other DPS, it's not worth the risk unless the WHM is running low on MP.

Judging by your class btw, it appears you're venting because you're a WAR who uses Flash. So here's my question...if you're complaining this much, are you also using Overpower, and tabbing between targets to single-target enmity boost each one in between Flashes? If you're not keeping the aggro up and you're complaining about lack of MP, it's most likely you being overly dependent on Flash.

Since ur about 9y old il try let u in on a little Secret, if u play whit random ppl u will find bad players no matter what class.
If u try find decent ppl to play whit ur post will just become as usless as u are i asume.

Anyway, there is about 2% content that need Brd's songs, and that is to ppl that dont know what the hell they are doing, and yes, still talking to (about) u!!

This is the funniest reply to a thread I've ever seen. You should know that there is NO good bard that thinks they do GREAT dmg. We all know our DPS sucks in comparison to other DPS classes. Bards are there for their utility and support when needed. NOTE NEEDED, so not the start of a fight. As a bard, I always pay attention to the MP of the party members especially the healers and TP is called only when needed as we can't even see the TP bars. Furthermore, if healers can't heal, tanks die, party wipes. So, stop thinking you're all that. Play a Bard and get 100 commendations. Otherwise, just zip it.
