I'm having this issue as well. tried messing with other stances on the fly while in WP (getting us all killed while looking at my action list lol) and still couldn't cast manually. Putting her on obey or steady only seems to prevent her from casting on her own.
You have to target a mob to change stance. Target a mob -> Steady -> Obey -> Resume as per normal.
you have to also be in combat to obey the mob... such a pointless and convoluted system. all we needed was macros and now we get 3 extra steps we have to do in order to do our jobs. what happens when that mob dies or a boss becomes untargetable? are we going to be required to do this every single time one of these situations occurs? thats a lot of stuff to deal with in a game where turning off cleric stance is an ordeal in and of itself. after 12 years square still has no idea how to do pet jobs.
*EDIT* Just messed with it, it seems obey stays on after you choose it so at least we don't have to deal with that.. this is going to take some getting used to.
Having to click Obey every time is such a nuisance! Not particularly terrible but at the same time it's extra button presses when I could be healing/casting!
Just so you guys know, this isn't a bug, but actually a bug fix. The English patch notes just haven't been updated yet.
If you ask me, this feature was better off bugged.
Rather than targeting the mob, just target tank and use macro:
/pac "Obey" <tt>
/pac "Embrace" <t>
I'm not in game, so can't really test it. Would this macro ensure that you're always able to force heal your targeted party member (unless you are beginning battle and the target hasn't targeted anything).
Thoughts?
is there a macro for "Place"? or am I just doing it wrong?
/pac "Place" <me>
It's probably similar to SS. But out of curiosity, why create a macro? Just put the skill on your hotbar.
Oh goodness, Squenix, what did you do?!
They had made SCH OP by making pet macros. Try this
._.Quote:
/pac "Embrace" <t>
/ac "Physick" <t>
I really wish that it would go back to the way it was pre 2.1
OK I think I got how this works.
Faerie in Sic + Guard/Steady = Totally autonomous mode, cannot control faerie.
Faerie in Obey + Guard = Controllable faerie but will cast by itself Embrace only, not the other skills.
Faerie in Obey + Steady = Controllable, totally passive faerie, will not cast anything by itself unless you command it to.
This is my current best guess at a stance macro:
Seems to work -- provided you have a mob targetted. Possibly there's a more optimal way to do it.Quote:
/pac Steady
/pac Obey <t>
I honestly don't wanna get used to this, I preferred the old way.
Think of it like this. There is only one steady stance. In steady the faerie does -nothing- but embrace.
There are TWO guard stances. Sic and Obey:
- Sic: Pet will use all of her skills on her own. You have no control. Full throttle mode. (Works great for Selene as she now properly rotates her buffs without micromanagement)
- Obey: Total opposite of sic, you have TOTAL control. The pet's skills will light up indicating this control.
So essentially you have steady, sic, and obey.
To set a pet to steady, just click steady.
To set a pet to sic, target an enemy and select "sic".
To set a pet to obey, target an enemy and select "obey".
These methods do not initiate combat, and any enemy will do, so it can be done -before- engagement without issue.
I made a few macros which should work pretty well
/micon Succor
/pac obey <tt>
/ac Succor <me>
/pac "Whispering Dawn" <t>
/micon Physick
/pac obey <tt>
/ac Physick <t>
/pac Embrace <t>
Still thinking what to do with the other 2 honestly, I suppose you could macro in fey illu before succor since that'd be the most beneficial use of it, maybe just add fey covenant to adlo since that shares the most similar timing usage.
/micon Succor
/pac obey <tt>
/ac Succor <me>
/pac "Fey Illumination" <t>
/pac "Whispering Dawn" <t>
/micon Adloquium
/pac obey <tt>
/ac Adloquium <t>
/pac "Fey Covenant" <t>
/pac Embrace <t>
Could also switch illumination out for covenant and use illumination on physicks I suppose.
I just healed a dungeon with fairy on Steady + Obey. It did use Embrace without micro'ing, plus allowed me to micro/macro it when I wished. Not sure what, if any, difference Guard+Obey makes.
Getting it into the right state is a pain, whether or not you use macro, because you need to be quite close to a mob for Obey to take hold. Maybe 15y or 20y? It doesn't work at 25y range.
I put the AE heal on a separate macro from Succor -- works great!
I macro'd Embrace to both Aldo and Physick, as above. Current I have Fey Covenant macro'd with Soil and Eye for an Eye.Quote:
/pac "Fey Illumination" <me>
/ac Rouse <me>
/wait
/pac "Whispering Dawn" <me>
The fact that SE is blocking us from issuing commands to the pet in whichever stance is just utterly stupid and beyond my level of comprehension.
Allow us to issue commands no matter which stance.
Yeah it's quite annoying and makes me feel like I have less control over my fairy. It feels rather clumsy and involves more effort to get her out of free stance, (which i'm sure i'll get used to eventually...)
I'm think of doing Sic with Selene throughout the whole Twintania fight, is that fine? My party's dps isn't that great, we keeps getting enragement..
Here's the macro I'm currently using to switch Eos over to manual control. It requires an enemy to be in sight. I have it in a non-essential side bar and click it after summoning. It goes from being grayed out to lit after running, showing you that it worked.
Code:/micon Embrace Pet Eos
/tenemy
/pac Obey
/tlt
/wait 1
/pac Heel
What annoys me is that we have to use "Obey" first before we can issue commands even in steady guard mode. This can't be intentional. Apart from the fact that the whole change doesn't make any sense (except that the fairy now stays in the stance we chose *yay*) it is beyond idiotic that we need to have an enemy target present so we can go "Obey(enemy target)->Guard/Steady-> being able to issue commands" instead of "Guard/Steady -> being able to issue commands".
For me, I needed to use Obey then Heel. I set up a macro...
/pac Obey <t>
/pac Heel <t>
/wait 1
/pac Obey <tt>
/pac Heel <tt>
Seems to work pretty well. You do have to have an enemy target (or you target needs an enemy target) but it has been switching to "Only cast embrace, nothing else, and follow me around" mode. I then added Embrace macros to my Adlo/Physick casts, so she manually backs up each of my heals whenever I use them. Oh, you can also make a pretty good macro for Whispering Dawn...
/ac "Rouse" <me>
/pac "Fey Illumination" <t>
/wait 4
/pac "Whispering Dawn" <t>
Do you need the /wait 1 after /pac Heel <t>? Wouldn't it just activate either the <t> or the <tt> depending on what's targeted? I have my DOTs macroed like this but without the /wait and it works just fine if I have the mob or tank targeted.
Is it a good idea to macro pet abilities to your abilities, given they are on different GCDs? Also what if you want the Fairy to heal someone else at the same time you heal another person?
It's been working without the /wait 1 between Obey and Heel; apparently those commands can be issued simultaneously. It will activate either the <t> or the <tt>, the hope is that if I have a tank targeted (which I usually do) it will activate, and if I have a mob targeted (which I usually don't) it will also activate.
I'm on the fence about whether or not to macro Embrace to Adlo/Physick, I've been trying it both ways. The biggest issue is that if you cast Phys/Adlo while trying to get off the Whispering Dawn combo, you will cancel it. Otherwise it's a pretty good way to keep your faery effective.
I hate this, just put it back to the way it was ffs
This is not good please fix this asap. Why on earth would i want my pet unable to listen to me when i summon it???
They changed it cause people didnt know how to play SMN or SCH so its all messed up for SCH cause they think AI is greater than PI.
Please for the love of Eorzea put Eos/Selene BACK into obey stance as the default mode.
