So what are your ideas of 2.1 BRD BiS? You might use this http://ariyala.com/bard.html.
Big up to Ariyala for making this, but as you can see, it doesn't include gryphonskin stuff.

It will be fun to see how BiS will change whit New content.
I wounder if Extreme primals will have same Hit cap as Coil t5.
Allagan Composite Bow - Coil T5
Allagan Visor of Aiming - Coil T2
Bard's Shirt - 825 Myth
Bard's Ringbands - 495 Myth
Hero's Belt of Aiming - 375 Myth
Bard's Tights - 825 Myth
Allagan Sollerets of Aiming - Coil T4
Allagan Choker of Aiming - Coil T4
Hero's Earrings of Aiming - 375 Myth
Hero's Bracelet of Aiming - 375 Myth
Allagan Ring of Aiming - Coil T5
Hero's Ring of Aiming - 375 Myth
Comes out to a nice 471 Acc, 519 Crit, 250 Det, and 418 Skill Speed. HQ Deviled Eggs as your Twintania food, obviously.
The best alternates you can get to the pieces from Coil (if you can't get a group to clear it, or if RNG hates you), are gonna be Artemis Bow Zenith (900 Myth), Bard's Chapeau (495 Myth), Bard's Sandals (495 Myth), Ultima Choker of Aiming, and a HQ Gryphonskin Ring (overmelded with 12 Crit, 10 Vit to make up for points lost elsewhere). These will get you to exactly the acc cap for Twin, with 540 Crit to boot. You would then be able to eat HQ Buttons in a Blanket or something of the sort. Your Dex will be like 9 points lower than the BIS, and it has more Myth purchases, but it'll get the job done.
You need to hit 470-472 before you eat the HQ Deviled Eggs. I updated my original post with more info for those interested.
So thats basically the bis it was before even with the ilvl 90 accessories?
There are several gear sets that are slightly better than the old BiS:
Crit Build
Gives you 473 acc 531 crit 244 det 412 SS
Determination Build
Gives you 472 acc 510 crit 263 det 407 SS
Balanced Build
Gives you 473 acc 520 crit 255 det 407 SS
All of these builds look to be a little better than the old BiS.
How viable would it be to go below acc requirements and keep up rod/hawk? Would it be a dps decrease if you sacrifice acc for crit and det?Well I guess it would only be feasible with x2 Bard set up
What about the new bow? If you use the Elfin Bow and swap the tights for Allagan pants you would be way up on Crit and up a little on Acc and Det while only losing 3 DEX and some skill speed
The Elfin bow and Allagan bow are actually very very close.Quote:

+1 Weapon damage and +3 dex and +27 acc(which allows you to add more crit and det in other slots)does put the Allagan ever so slightly ahead of the Elfin bow.
Why are you stacking so much acc? I only have 464 before food and I have never missed anything in coil. including all of our learning time and 5 twin kills. I will happily chance missing a time or two in exchange for higher stats elsewhere.... which will end up being higher overall dps.
Hmm thats kind of what I was asking Akesis, but what is the % of a miss vs the gain in dps? That is the question to answer.
I'm going to go with a crit/det setup for everything that is not turn 5. Elfin Bow included. Here's how it looks:

Well, 470 Accuracy is your benchmark for coil, before considering other changes to skills etc.
In the absence of a hard-to-get Allagan Composite Bow, the Elfin Bow becomes Best-In-Slot, provided you can make up your accuracy requirements elsewhere. (I often eat Stuffed Cabbage for this purpose, but there are other things you can do as well.)
In places like the Crystal Tower, or anywhere other than the Binding Coil for that matter, your accuracy benchmark is going to be lower, making the Elfin Bow easily better than the Artemis Bow Zenith.
You could do this small variation to the crit build.
You lose 6 acc for 6 crit, but I have heard you need 480-482 for the snakes on turn 5. 6 crit is only a .42% chance to crit though, I dunno I like having around 472 base acc so i only need to use acc food for turn 5 and I can use buttons for everything else.
There's a lot we don't know, like what percentage of evasion down does RoD do. You also have to consider if the extra stats from gear would make up for the fact that you have to waste a gcd every 20 sec on RoD. Trying to keep RoD up for every DS on twintania in 2.0 caused me to have serious TP issues especially in the last 2 phases. I would rather have capped acc on gear and have no TP issues for turn 5.
CT can be completed in lv 60 gear, it's wildly irrelevant. You're gonna crap all over it in 80+ gear. The only fight you should really be considering with BIS is Twintania, as that's the hardest fight you'll have to face every week.
...and extreme primals, in which we do not know the acc cap for. Either way, I want to go as low as possible without missing on t4-5 and some people report 470ish being fine others say 482 is a must...idk
I am really not sure. doing our own testing with the 8 bards in our FC on turn 5..... we didn't see any misses till we were below 470 (don't remember the exact number), food included... even then it was 1 miss over a period of more then 40 total T5 pulls between all of the groups. The miss was on a snake and nothing else.... with that said it could have even come from an AOE.
personally I will be shooting for as close to 470 (with food) as I can without going too much over to maximize crit. I haven't run full numbers yet. but the new bow is looking better due to the crit from it and how easily 464 is to achieve with the new accessories. even at a lower item level and a couple of dex, I will try to stack as much crit as gear will allow. longer boss fights will compensate with more crits being landed. we wont know 100% till people can farm gear and beat on some bosses to see how things sort out.
Well thanks for the reply I will do the same and report post patch my findings, my goal will be to hit around the low 470's and max crit.
This kind of sucks..I worked hard for my relic bow, and now pretty much become obsolete from elfin bow. If I knew this was coming I wouldn't have wasted my time. Fix our relics SE
I understand Relics to be an ultimate weapon like those from other ffs games, but who knows whats on their mind.
The thing is, they are trying to make new options such as time consuming or difficulty to get the lvl 90 weapons and the "relic" zenith is one of them or even this new elfin bow is. U gotta get the one which suits your play style or your attributes. You can have any of the bows, however, u gotta change some of your equips to get that acc cap u if you are looking for it. Currently, u did NOT have to get the +1 in order to complete coil, but it would facilitate it (again, acc cap purpose). So i say it was not a waste to get the +1 if you couldn't complete coil since theres no acc on the elfin bow. Ima use elfin bow only outside coil to make things a lil bit faster.
Im not sure which bis is the best one, or even if one is better than another. Im gonna check them all out for damage purpose, but the crit one that mattaru posted looks sexy since crit = more bloodletter resets = more skills/damage/dps whatever. However the Det one adds some raw damage to your build. idk gotta catch em all!
How's it obsolete? Baddies, please...
To be honest, I think the Elfin bow looks really pretty, which is why i'd like to see if a set built around it is feasable.
Well this seems to be an ancient thread. But if anyone wanted to see a 581 Crit accuracy capped Elfin Bow build check my current gear.
