Awesome soundtrack all I got to say!
That site seems weird, maybe its lagging or something but I'll click things and nothing happens for ages or it just freezes up for a while.
Oh yeh PS the music is awesome, i loved FF13's and im sure i'll love this
SE alway good at first announcement LOL
A higher quality trailer(in English might I add) is on that site too, also 12.2011 release for Japan
Hamauzu all the way. Love it!
I know the Music ( which seems to be the battle theme right in the middle of the background of the site) was friggen awesome and and and... Lightening is Dead....?!?!?!?!?!? This "Second half" of the story seems to be awesome from the looks of it.
I say "second half" of the story is because the took alot out to put it in the Xbox 360 version >.>.
but never the less I SAW MOOGLES!!! :DDDD That really made my day!
Yay another game that plays itself.
@Neptune: Did some research about Hamauzu being the composer; sadly, I couldn't find much save this tweet by someone random:
http://twitter.com/#!/gamespite/stat...08904918200320
...and I'm not really sure if I trust it. However, the track on the official site does retain his ambient and piano melodies, not to mention the orchestrated "battle" tunes which, after Blinded by Light, Fighting Fate and Nascent Requiem, I've come to expect from him. Certainly, the beginning part of the track on the official site reminds me of "The Thirteenth Day", just made much better.
Otherwise, even if it's not Masashi Hamauzu, I still anticipate whoever managed to create the track on the site. And I am looking forward to the game, actually. \o/

EDIT: Also, for those who want to listen to the track on the site without the URL hogging up your tab space or so...

Extracted out and uploaded for your enjoyment. Not sure if I'll get banned for this or reported but...oh well. For the sake of good music, I'll do it.
Apologies for anybody in countries which cannot access mediafire.
I hope they realize adding QTEs to the boss battles doesn't actually add any real depth to the gameplay.
Noel Kreiss = yuna after gender change
Wow it looks like they actually made a game this time around. The first one was so lame probably the worst FF ever, no connection to any of the chars, felt like I was walking down a hallway the whole time. This one looks to me more open world style so I hope it's better than the first one.
It does actually. But then again this have to be marketed to a new generation of gamers, where they have to press as many buttons as possible in a battle or they'll get distracted by a shiny object somewhere.
It sold far too many to be "the worst FF ever", and I say this because Americans and Europeans had 3 months to avoid buying the game as you guys had information and spoilers and videos and walkthroughs of it to make a purchase decision and it still sold very well in the west.
QTEs?
Nice, thanks man. Well if anyone can read Japanese it might say on the information page. Nice work though. Was there only 1 track on the website? It sounded like 3 different tracks to me, but maybe it was just loading different parts of the same one.
QTE = Quick Time Events, something that in essence, Shenmue created. Basically actions you do during Cutscenes or Battles to progress the flow of it and change the outcome (especially in CSs.) It's basically more interaction depending on the type of battle system used.
I wish my Japanese was a bit (a lot) better so I could read the novel at ( http://web.square-enix.co.jp/fabula/.../novels_detail )
As far as I can search, there's only one track, thought you're correct in saying it's three tracks, since it's probably mixing the three to create one soundtrack. Here's my split on it:
0:00 - 0:17 -> An ambient piece, a redo of The Thirteenth Day, if you call it. Vocals, adding an eerie nature.
0:18 - 0:52 -> Piano and orchestra; FFXIII-2's answer to The Promise? Still sounds nice.
0:52 - 2:00 -> Potential battle theme, certainly is upbeat enough to be one.
Hope it helps out, and I hope it'll get confirmed quick who the composer is. :D
It's been translated for a loooooooooong time now. It's called Episode 0 or Episode 1, look it up.

There you go, it was actually the thing that kicked off the XIII-2 speculation pre-announcement.
I loved the quick time events of FFIX. No battle related, but story driven.
Wishful thinking that they might add them like that.
I loved XIII a lot the battle system was fun it wasn't the same spam attack and cure till win and use limit breaks but so far this game looks like its doing everything XIII didn't do which is good but i completely understood the reason for no cities in XIII go in a city and be hunted like a dog.
Also something a lot of people didn't know there were no shops in xiii even if it was a city everything was micro transactions it says so on the lore under the city where hope is from i forget the name tho.
