So with the price cost of housing?

to me this seems like its gonna encourage gil buyers because like it has been stated multiple times who really has this kind of gil to fork out? me im lucky to break 500k without crafting which im just now getting into... just curious if anyone else had thought like this

Who really has this kind of gil to fork out? oh I don't know.....your entire free company like the housing is meant for? You didn't honestly think you would get a large house as a small fc did you? This entire thing is meant to make fcs work together to come up with the cost, not a single person or 2 like so many seem to think.

I agree with this. If this was personal housing then yeah I'd be in the group with Pitchforks. But even the smaller houses seem pretty reasonable for smaller FCs. People need to calm down and go farm :P

Good luck finding people dumb enough to put in millions of gil towards a FC that they don't own, especially since even if 1 person in your FC buys gil, you're entire 100s of millions that were invested could disappear. You can pretend people work like that but only close friends would invest like that and you don't have 100 close RL friends on your server. Just because an idea looks good on paper, doesn't mean it automatically works out when tested. They hit some seriously bad PR with this decision and in the next day or so, it will spread across the gaming news sites like crazy. Seeing as how they kept promoting FC housing with their live letters and promo videos, this is going to end up looking HORRIBLE on FFXIV's end.

The way to measure how bad of an idea the FC pricing was can be compared to another one of their great ideas, The Spirits Within, a gigantic disaster with an upcoming financial hit (there are those that are leaving after finding out they were mislead about the FC housing this entire time.)

Sorry I misread It was something else highlighted 2.2. Still stands, I edited my post to reflect it. They are selling by PLOT which won't change, you can build an FC or a personal house on said plot.

Uh I'm pretty sure they have stated that FC and personal housing instances will be separate.

No. They said if all the plots are taken up in said area they will create more instances. They did not say anything else beyond that.

I have no issue with the pricing listed for 'new' servers. Just the extreme pricing for Legacy servers. The price makes 2 mil/9 mil/20 mil jumps for small/medium/large 5th class plots on the newer servers but then skyrockets to 12-32 mil, 55-120 mil, 150-400 mil differences when on a Legacy server. You can buy 5-10 small 5th class plots on a new server compared to a single one on a legacy.

It's not like they discouraged people from joining these servers with a warning stating 'In the future we will base gameplay/luxury elements based on the type of server you join, some discrepancies may apply'.

There as plenty of groups of 'new' players on legacy servers who just got smacked in the face. Not to mention that as a Balmung player the market is currently collapsing due to RMT botfarmers.

Well it doesn't make any sense to have a distinction of FC and player housing then if they share the same instance, does it? If they were planning on just using the same plots in the same instances for player housing, why are they restricting housing to FCs first and adding player housing later?

I'm pretty sure individual housing is going to have a whole set of rules that is going to require it's own instance to run on. Additionally individual plots are going to have to be overall smaller because there will be a much higher demand for them. I won't be surprised if a large individual plot is smaller than the smallest FC plots.

Regardless, they've made no announcement on individual housing costs so to make the assumption then whine about it now is pointless.

This. Not only this but the game has continually discouraged large guilds with group content not being any larger than 8 people.

I saw someone post that maybe it'll be inside the Inn, It's a good assumption tbh. Do you really see them making thousands and thousands of instances for player housing? I doubt it. They're just dragging out their content. CT was supposed to be in release, comes out 4 months later in 2.1 instead. Wasn't housing too? Also player housing? Weren't they all supposed to be in 2.1, but they dragged player housing out more.
