Nightmare Mount

I bet it'll be a Black Unicorn. Or... maybe they're finally letting us have a Slephnir like horse mount?

There will be a black mount?? Is it class restricted?

I don't know; It was in the patch notes at the very bottom with the new items listed.

On the other hand:
The new Goobbue picture hit me and my mood decreased rapidly. I know it'll have some flowers on its head but still they said it won't be obtainable again.

Isn't the nightmare mount just the Behemoth?

German Patch notes say "Nachtmähre" and "Mähre" means nag

EDIT:

Itemname: Alptraum-Pfeife (Nightmare-Whistle)

Nacht = Night
Mähre = nag

If that were the case they would have added the new minions to the list that come with the Behemoth mount and they didn't. It's also already stated the mount item for Behemoth is "Behemoth Horn" on the Optional Service page; Not to be confused with the horn(s) you get from defeating him in his FATE.

Also, to add to the speculation, the behemoth item is called the Behemoth Warhorn, it's listed in the items that can't be discarded. So it seems like this nightmare mount is something they've kept under wraps. Slepnir perhaps? or maybe on of those dragons, like the final boss of AK.

Forget that, I don't see the bluebird minion anywhere on the list ._.

That's because the blue bird is already in the files. They may be making it obtainable in 2.1, but listing it in the new items wouldn't be accurate.

Nightmare Mount: DnD Nightmare, hope that's what we get

I do know that in the Odin lore that you learn from NPC's while doing the sidequests about him; some of them noted that he rides upon a Nightmarish Steed. Or a Steed bred by Nightmares. All I remember is that they did mention his mount in comparison to a Nightmare.

Diabolos mount perhaps? :o

did they say ALL "goobbue" mounts will not be able to be obtained again OR the specific "goobbue" mount you received via a quest pre 2.0?

i would like proof that they stated that there will never be another release of "goobbue" mounts in the future and that your legacy "goobbue" will be a unique and never ever seen again in any other form.

If it really is sleipneir i wonder if its an attempt to get more people to participate in the Odin FATE, I assume you'll have to purchase it using mantles if this is the case

the description states it as legendary so I assume it HAS to be something iconic to the series

don't they already have sleipneir barding? would be kind of redundant to have both

Well it makes sense for it to be a horse mount; Unicorn mount was obtained by using a Unicorn Whistle. And this is a Nightmare Whistle how we obtain this mount.

The Buffalo Calf is in the files now...but is listed in the patch notes...

I'm assuming it's going to be a black horse/unicorn, as Nightmare is a recurring enemy in FF games. Maybe only THMs at level 30 can get it, like CNJs and the unicorn.

I realize the Ancient Buckler wouldn't be on the wards, but the Buffalo Calf should be if it was in the same situation as the Blue Bird. That is why I didn't think Blue Bird to be a new item.

Because Name changed often it is not easy to find "Dark Horses" and even when you find them, you do not know if it is really meant as "Night"-"Mare" or just "Nightmare".

Historical that is not entirely true, because in real it is more like a incubus sitting astride a sleeper's chest and becomes heavier until the crushing weight awakens the terrified and breathless dreamer, while controling their dreams and creating nightmares. Why it is connected with a horse is going a bit deeper... in short: its about darkness, evil and nighmare dreams.

Back on topic. I'm hoping this is a class or quest related mount and not something that we have to grind for like with Odin Mantle. Then again SE did say they are adding new FATE's so perhaps a new mini world boss will drop tokens towards getting the Nightmare mount. We'll have to wait and see.
