How would you rate FFXIV's Community?

From your experiences in the game and with other games,

On a scale of 1 - 10:
With 1 Being no community
And 10 Being a perfect community

How would you rate FFXIV's Community?

Note: Community includes in-game, forums, wiki's, etc.

I would rate it a 4

Reasoning: No complete wiki, lack of guides for new players, forum full of trolls, few people speak in game outside of linkshell. However, i find that most people endgame on my server know each other which does create some sense of community.

I'd say a 2 if only for all the trolling, arguing, and complaining infesting these forums.

As a disclaimer, yes those who are still here have a right to be upset. However, there's a difference between complaining for the sake of complaining, and actually presenting a coherent statement of why you're upset.

The trolls are obvious and not that numerous, the complaints are for the most part valid (although it's gotten worse lately), and the current state of the game keeps fanboys in check.

I'm sure the forums have had more positive impact on the game and development than negative. I think the different approaches that JP's and English community have complement each other nicely. English community goes to the extreme more often than not, possibly provoking a faster/better reaction from the developers... but so far the JP's have had more constructive and objective feedback (it's always hilarious to see them use huge red bolded text to show their frustration though, it's so unlike them).

Both have their pro's and con's.

As in 60% of the forums I've seen are worse.

To be fair, I would rate the community of a year ago much differently than I would rate the community of today.

Frustration over the state of the game has turned it inside-out. Negativity runs rampant. Resources remain unfinished.

It's really difficult to blame anyone who has trouble being positive these days.

As far as the game is concerned, that is better than the opposite. There's no unwarranted hype, shortcomings aren't as excusable and I bet criticism is much more useful for the devs than praise.

ingame community i'd give 7/10, cool peoples (at least on my server) but lack quantity.
forum 2/10, for obvious reason.

ON the forums 1:10, this is simply the absolute worst forum community I have ever seen in a mmo (I never thought I would see one worse then WoW's but I was wrong). There are about as much active people on the forums that was the game to fail as there are people who want it to succeed. The troll ratio is like 2:1 almost.

In game I would say 7:10, There are alot of people like in XI in game but everyone for what ever reason doesn't interact like they did in XI. So the whole group aspect is hurting.

this community is just the same as every mmo ,there are white knight , troll , those who just give there opinions and get *** up by the 2 named before and as a result prefere to play the game quietly and those who play the game without paying attention to the forum and who will be the first whining when the troll and the white knight will have turn the game into a *** lol

The "memememememe" attitude is getting worse, but that's the most recent generations fault.

Not Square Enix's.

And the game I would give a 7. It needs work but they are, and have, done a wonderful job listening to what the community wants and giving it to us. In 6 months I expect to give the game a 9.

I say a 9 because the 4 community will bring it down from a 10.

In the game, 3/10. I'm linkshellless atm but the few I've been in had either few talkers or the one immature person that goes over the edge. Girls play tyvm, and I don't appreciate the way you guys talk since you don't think we exist on the internet. My last WoW guild was more civilized than you lot.

Forums, 5/10. More communication since it's forums, but there's a good deal of "We don't want this!" or "I want FFXI-2!!!" posts/comments. Whining, complaining, arguing. There are constructive posts, not saying all of them are bad.

Nobody talks, alot of stuck up elitest attitudes already about. Game just feels even more empty than it already is due to lack of social activity. Plenty of people stood around crafting etc but they never speak, can feel quite desolate at times.

I would rate the in-game community with about a 6, only so low because without the Auto-Attack noone really talks to each other while they're in the middle of fighting.

The forums community I would give a 3, because (again) of the trolls who seem to want the game to fail. I respect the people out there actually trying to help and finish the game, as well as give meaningful feedback instead of bickering simply to do it.

Our Server id say its about a 6.5 right now. Saronia is the smallest of the servers but we all work with eachother. Well with the execption of a few LS that think they own everything lol. Anyways MOST of us all alternate NM pops if there camped. Have people make our High Level gear if we have the matts. The game / server is what you make it. If no one interacts with different people then your setting your own restrictions on yourselves

Also with in our LS we all use Mumble/Vent to talk to eachother because typeing is over rated lol. Unless its party of randoms then we type. The thing is like said theres way to much going on screen to type in a chat. Unlike 11 where it was auto attack and you had time to type things

People aren't really discussing the game which is understandable as there is no depth to speak of like in XI circles.

I think everyone is doing a pretty good job of asking SE to put a game in their game at this point.

I'd give XI community a 10 for always being so nice to me even though I'm still a total noob at that game. I almost never have had a real conversation with a player in XIV so based on that I rate XIV community only based on the forums.

Its claimed to be an RP server but there's not much of it, except for the fact for the people that do (( )) (some people) that gets annoying, and eye pinching the more I see it being used lol

I'd say in game 6/10. I don't even want to think of the forum community as a part of the game's community because half the people on the forums don't even play, or care about the game. I'm sure when they implement monthly fees the forums should clear up a bit.

I don't really like number ratings so I'll just review it in one word.

I'd give it a 4. The game has weeded out so many quality players with its substandard behaviors. The wikis are empty because no one who ever gave a **** is left. This game's suffered a brain drain as the best players just move on to better opportunities. What's left is a concentration of cheaters and drones, best evolved for a game high in mindless repetition as the only content.

Good players don't stick to bad games. Only people left are a few undying idealists, futures investing hustlers, and drones who still haven't snapped out of it and realized they're not having fun.

I would say about a 6.5, but unfortunately these forums drag it down to a 4.0. :(

MMO community pretty much blows as a whole anyway. A bad game makes it much worse...

My LS: 9/10 - They make this game very fun for me and we have a lot of fun together. They are really the ones who keep me sticking around and are wonderful people! I say 9/10 because no one can be 100% perfect, but man I love them! <3

The Game: 7/10 - It is getting better and it is obvious that SE does want to continue to fix it but I know it will take a bit more time. FFXIV is better than when it started, and I'm sure it will continue to improve.

The Forums: 4/10 - A lot of repeat threads instead of just posting on threads that people already made on the subjects. A lot of nonsense threads made just for drama/posting/whining sake without actually saying how to fix the problem or giving suggestions. Thank god SE put an ignore function on the forums.

Game: Dunno. Haven't logged in for almost 4 months now.
Forum: 5. Many smartasses (including me), but even those are good for a laugh.
