Hey Guys with 2.1 beeing right around the corner i thought why won't we start a discussion thread about 2.2 ? Would love to hear your thoughts on it !
What do we know for sure ?
- Leviathan
- Coil Turn 6-X
- Vanity Slots
(- New HM Dungeons and a complete New Dungeon) i think Yoshi said for each patch it'll be this way.
Let me do some calls what i think will be in it as well:
- Aetherytes and Marketboard for FC Housing
- Level Cap Raise to 55
- New Egi for Summoners (Leviathan of course) as well as a new level 52 >class< skill.
- New Class : Musketeer ( with COR as DPS Job and X as Support Job)
- New Area's around Mor Dhona and Coerthas.
- New Tomes : Tomestone of Knowledge dropped in CT and Coil as well as the HM Dungeons and EX Primals.
- New Myth Material for 125 each used to craft ilvl 80 (1~3 myth x philo mats required)
- Crafting Gear ilvl 90 for 9 Myth materials.
- AF 2 (the real one) Bought for Knowledge Tomes iLvL 110. Weekly Cap 200.
- Coil Turn 6-x dropping ilvl 100 and 110.
- Relic +2 iLvL 110 needing 900 Knowledge Tomes as well as an Epic Questline with hard Bossfights.
Level 55 items will share the same iLvL as the 50's white or green or blue Level 55 item will still be as good as a level 50 ilvl 55. Another wording since its complicated
- Warlock Robe (Green Level 50 dom gear) ilvl 55. Will have same Stats as
- Robe of Magical God Destruction (Green level 55 dom gear) ilvl 55.
Requirement does not Equal Power unlike other MMO's are using it this way. Thats why we have something called Item Level or Gear Level. So the Game could go all the way up to Level 90 with level 90 whites/greens beeing still inferior to level 50 Allagan (blue ilvl 90) stuff.
What are your thoughts ?

I don't think we'll see the lvl cap increased or new zones until the first paid expansion, which imo if they keep up this pace might even be 2.5.
Jobs on the otherhand I can agree on as YoshiP said a long time ago he didn't want to gate new classes/jobs behind paid expansions. -

This isn't so certain. They have expressed before they can introduce classees outside of an expansion, so it's possible. But I don't see it happening in 2.2.Quote:

Also I do feel that scouting classes are lacking so I want to bring in Theif, Ninja and those that have to do with stealth. Also more casters like Blue Mage and Red Mage are something I would like to add.

A little early for this isnt it? But just to clarify:
- Level cap will not be raised until the first payed expansion
- No new Classes will be added until the first payed expansion (for a musketeer to be incorporated it will need a new weapon Class.)
The rest could be in there but I would personally prefer to see Golden Saucer in the next patch, but I think its coming 2.3,
EDIT:
Saw the link at the top of the page, Its from almost a year ago so I dont know if what i recall was more recent or not. Either way I would love to be wrong. With the Classes, I thought Jobs would be added but no new Classes, although I'm pretty sure new classes or jobs will be much further out than the second major patch. There are more core systems i think need to be added before worrying about that. -

So It doesn't directly say patch like I thought it did, but they have already been clearly thinking about it. I don't think "Next major update" means expansion though. I am pretty sure this is on his radar as of now and may have been pushed back to get some more important things into 2.1.Quote:

A: At the launch of A Realm Reborn, the level cap will still be 50. We're already planning to implement a lot of content specifically for level 50. If we decide to increase the level cap at the time of launch, we're going to have to implement additional content before we're able to launch ARR.
The current plan is to increase the level cap with the next major update after launch. We will also be updating the content to reflect the increase in level cap. So the level cap increase will happen. It just won't be happening at the launch.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to give you a time frame on when it will occur. Please note that the battle system is completely different in ARR, so even if your character is already at level 50, there's a lot to re-learn.

I saw the side quests preview and wondered can someone tell me please, did Hildebrand actually get tore up in a quest in 1.0 or did they just elaborate and make new storyline so he could be carried into the present time?
I did not unlock the quest in 1.0 it seems if he did so I was wondering mainly because of the state of him in that picture and the info. Anyway, looking forward to the patch, too many things to wonder about right now! -

If the release of 2.2 is based on leviathan then Musketeer release in 2.2 would fit the theme since it will base about the Ocean and to travel through it so we can finally fight Leviathan.
Nothing says sailing the ocean like the Musketeer Class (aka Pirate class of this game) -
