Will we be able to vanity the non +1 version of our Relics?

I don't like the glowing effect on the +1 relics. It's tacky (Imo) and I just don't like the way it works aesthetically with armor in the game. I'd much prefer a way, at least when the vanity system is introduced, to disable the glow entirely. Anyone think it'll be possible?

Honestly a /weaponeffects like the /visor command sounds more simple than having another inventory/armoury slot taken up.

I don't see why vanity would only be restricted to certain slots, so I'd be inclined to say yes.

The issue here is that you can't have the +0 and +1 versions simultaneously, so how would you equip the normal relic in your vanity slot?

I'm more worried about applying the shine to other weapons. I doubt it'll happen but as I've been playing MMO's for years the weapon glow has always been something I've strived for as it usually implies it's powerful.

I also wonder if we'll be able to use Cowl's in the vanity slots. For example, would we be able to replace the ilvl90 Myth BLM hat and chest piece with the DL cowl skin? I really hate the colour of the BLM Myth gear compared to the original AF gear.

This would be ideal. Like the OP, I also think the glow effects diminish some of the weapons by obscuring the details. For example, I like how the BLM relic was sleek and black like obsidian wrapped around a glowing purple orb, giving a lot of contrast. +1'd, the whole thing is just a mess of pink particle effects.

Only way I see this possible is to introduce Vanity Relics which are relics made just for vanity use so their stats are basically 0 in all sections.

Vanity Relics should include alternate color skins of the relics as well with one of the alternate skin design based on the AF2 Armor gear you get with mythology so you can get matching Relic color for your character.

Still feels funny to see a Dragoon in Tron Dragoon AF2 armor set with a normal Purple Dragoon Relic weapon. That set is better off with a Tron Colored Dragoon Relic weapon.

That's true, but they're also usually much more elaborate and iconic.
This way, it's like I'm always doing a limit break!

But I agree with what you said. A slash command to turn off the effect would be good.

Frankly i'd say screw it because I want other people to know I have the +1 even if I don't like the glow myself (but there should be a command to toggle it independent of any vanity system).

But you realize that's not what the question in the topic title says: "Will you be able to vanity the non +1 version of relics", not "will you be able to turn off the +1 relic glow" or "will you be abel to make +1 look like it isn't +1" ?

I enjoy the +1 glow on my monk so I am good with it. Most of the other jobs +1s I don't care for so if I played those jobs I would wan't to be able to turn that off.

I really don't like the blinding white glow of the +1 WHM staff either. Makes it impossible to take decent screenshots of my character with her weapon out, as the glow obscures nearly her entire body. It reminds me of the hideously over-the-top enchant effects we had to deal with in Cataclysm back in WoW.

/weaponeffect would be really good. It is difficult to see the well designed weapons with the glow all over.
