Limsa is the new Ul'dah

In 1.0, Limsa was pretty much a ghost town and look at it now!

• Arcanist was introduced
• The PvP will be there
• Coil of Bahamut is near LL (Wineport)
• Musketeer might come in the future
• The Lightning event started there
• Beach housing (yes, please!)
• Pharos will be there
• Beach dancing Miqotes
• Convenient Main Aether (market/repair)

I guess our Uld'ah is loosing a bit of hype ;)

No more dancing girls. The money went elsewhere.

Limsa is also convenient as the main crystal is right next to the market boards/ npc shops and retainer bell. Where as both Uldah and Gridania you have to change zones or use aethernet.

You forgot to include that we have Female NPCs in Bikinis in the Limsa Housing Area.

Also Musketeer will come in the future since they're been trying to get it into FF14 since 1.0 and the Musketeer guild is set up already.

Ul'dah just seemed real scabby to me with the spam and all so i never went near the place.

The Golden Saucer is in Ul'dah so they'll take some of the populace soon enough.

None of those things are actually in Limsa though.
The reason people gathered in Ul'Dah was because the main story (in 1.0) sent you there and all of the important things (Market Wards, Inn, Aetheryte) were all very close together.

No, Mordhana is the new Ul'dah.

uldah was supposed to be the busy city? lol?

location wise, gridania was the best place to be no matter where you were going. the tp costs to dragonhead/revanant toll were the cheapest from gridania. actually i usually just walk there because it's that close.

That's not entirely true though - sure there's a locked door to a casino in the Platinum Mirage, but that's just the Platinum Mirage itself, it always has been a casino (the PGL Guild were used as hired thugs to collect on gambling debts from it). Of course there's nothing stopping SE actually making it as the Gold Saucer, but until SE announces it's location, take it with a grain of salt.

As for residential areas, although only the Limsa residential area location is actually known (Mist, which zones south of Red Rooster Stead in Lower La Noscea), for the other two cities there are some mysterious locked doors which are highly likely are planned for their residential areas (one in Western Thanalan near the Gate of the Sultana into Ul'dah, and one right in Gridania itself, next to the LNC's Guild in Old Gridania).

Of course this is just my speculation, but if that is indeed true, Limsa would have their residential area in an outlying area where as the other two cities would be pretty much in the city themselves, and would be far easier to access. Or maybe SE are just banking on Limsa being a natural drawcard with it's silly tourist-trap beach. ;)

I still AFK in Ul'dah once in a while, but for the most part

Also the LL primary color is red{awesome...squee}, unlike the other two being yellow and darker yellow....yay joy!

Of course, Limsa is the best city, hands down.

It's only so busy because the market board is directly next to the aetheryte.

During launch week Gridania seemed to be hugely populated but in the weeks and months after launch it seems that limsa has been the "main" city for the past month or so

Ul'dah is the most inconvenient of the 3 cities now.. Grid the Aetherytes are at least reasonably close to stuff, while of course LL you're right by the market wards from the main crystal. Ul'dah you're pretty much running to get to anything since even the various Aetherytes are far off from what you're porting too ^^;;
